Actually I find them kind of useless. The volume levels are never matched, you don't know the quality of the microphones, the audio is processed/compressed by CZcams and who knows what you're listening to it through at the end user. I'm using decent quality over the ear Sennheiser headphones, but some people are probably listening to this over their smartphone speaker. LMAO.

I feel the JBL’s deep bass and highs shines with rap and or dance/house, but the Soundcore’s clarity is better in general for music and their EQ is really nice. I suspect the quality of the drivers on the JBL isn’t much better than the Soundcore, just their EQ works wonders. Great vid as always!

The JBL highs shine more for sure on a lot of songs. They are so close and with the EQ APP it’s better and you can just save money for close to the same sound
JBL Bluetooth speakers are strictly Monophonic based were Anker Bluetooth speakes are Stereophonic. It's for that reason I would buy an Anker speaker over a JBL speaker because If I'm going to buy something that is only Monophonic then I might as well just listen to Monophonic audio on AM radio.
With more better eq settings u can have better highs with better bass as well

I have TWO motion plus! In stereo the sound is incredible! I can put them on the coffee table and have a really great music experience.

If you haven't already, get a 2nd Soundcore Motion+
Getting a 2nd speaker splitting the channels lessens the strain on any one speaker, allowing you to push them harder with less chances of distortion from high volume. Having two working together like that gives you sound greater than the sum of their parts. It turns a $100 into a $200 investment, but there's no $200 speaker that can compete, and is likely going to out-perform any single-speaker option you can get until you start looking into the $300-$350 category or higher.

You're so right that they sound great, I have a pair too. But don't you also have the problem where the secondary speaker just cuts out very often? Many people have that issue and I've been looking for about 2 years for a fix, and didn't find anything. Did you get that too, did you fix it?

There is a speaker break in period like a week or 2 of loud use to unstiffen the passive radiators and speakers, every bluetooth speaker and especially any car speakers/ subs that I've ever had sounds better after break in, kind of a fuller warmer sound imo.

Soundcore motion plus is really good
Stereophonic sounds as if your really there in the studio listening to the song is getting recorded but, Monophonic sound like muffled poor quality AM radio. When I buy a Bluetooth speaker I go for Stereophonic over Monophonic. I bought the Anker Motion+ for the full range dual speaker Stereophonic sound quality that you can't get with JBL speakers.
This review doesn't change my mind about the quality and affordable price from Anker. I have the Anker Rave Mini, Soundcore Boost, and now I own the Soundcore motion+.

Specifications to consider when deciding between the two:
Motion Plus - stereo, better customisable eq, built in mic, aux input, 30 Watts, frequency response: 50 Hz - 40 kHz (Hi-Res).
Charge 5 - JBL signature bass, mono, no mic, no aux in, 40 Watts, frequency response: 60 Hz - 20 kHz
I like JBL bass for most of my music but the Motion+ is the more flexible speaker for all types of audio material in my opinion.
It would be intersting to cast music from Tidal with an S23Ultra. Few months ago i bought the MotionBoomPlus but its way too powerful for inside. I must listen up to 25% only!
Now i ordered the Motion Plus because meanwhile i discovered Tidal (when i bought Buds2Pro with hi res).
Honestly I would have been preferred mono speaker to mono speaker and stereo speakers without EQ, anyway good job kudos

You can use both when plugged in and jbl seems to give it a boost of power when plugged it listening to. So you will have no problem there 👍

I would go with Soundcore motion boom. You will get that nice bass over the motion plus. And as well the volume by a little bit. They both has EQ in the app for you can get the Sound just have you want it 👍

Soundcore Motion+ has AUX input but almost half the battery life as C5, and it doesn't charge other devices like JBL. Both IPX7. What about durability drop from 4'? Does SM+ have that too or just JBL?
Yeah charge 5 has the better features for sure.
I have the motion plus and the battery life is much more then what the speaker advertise which is very rare as I easily able to get 5 to 6 hours at max volume, to over 14 hours at 50% volume and about 11 to 12 hours at 80% volume, it does float in water and the aux cable is pretty damn good and the app for it is 10/10
Listening to this on my Charge 5🙂 I'm happy with it tho because i think that it worth it's money. And we should remember that this is like iphone, it will cost the same price after years. And only thing that usually can break in it is battery which is easy to replace

JBL is maybe better in terms of bass and maybe slightly better overall sound. However, I can use the Motion plus for gaming, JBL you really cant cause it doesnt have an aux port and bluetooth gaming is not recommended. Motionplus for me has done a good job as a monitor speaker.

I haven’t heard the rave neo yet. But the motion plus is a beast of a speaker and with the EQ in their app you can get the perfect sound you want
I have both. I’ve tested both in personal. So i prefer charge 5 bcoz bass punch is nice and better sound quality and listening pleasurable. Whereas the motion plus also sometimes good sound.. bcoz of stereo. Finally, overall i perfer charge 5.
What's interesting is that anything above 2,000 kilohertz all the way to 8,000 kilohertz is always more pleasing to the ear. That's just the way it is. So sure you think that that one actually sounds better in your opinion. But the overall fullness of the song I got to give it to the charge 5
Can you share the EQ settings you used for the motion+? I bought the motion+ (based on this review) and the motion boom, just for kicks and comparison. I can’t get the motion+ to beat the boom, but I’m also a novice at EQ. If you can share your settings, it would help me a ton. Thanks!
Oh yea it’s going to be hard to be the motion boom because the bass in that speaker is so strong and I believe it’s a bit louder as well but what I normally do with EQ is boost everything to max and slow pull each notch down slowly until your ears like that it hears. Find the sweet spot for your ears start with the bass first so pull down from left to right 👍.

Love the sound of JBL but reliability no it seem they wanted you to buy always the newer model as the Battery fails just over a year. Love that play Fil RAP :)
Yeah they for sure want your by every year and they always change the Bluetooth connect with older models from newer ones so you can’t play them all together
If you spend money on speaker then you want to get the best value. Speaker having eq makes it have some room for improvement for the user if he wants some more bass or treble or mids not sacrificing volume of other frequency's. Soundcore motion series was made for makings it sound just like you want it. If i where to choose between speaker with and without eq that's a no brainer (even when speaker with eq is cheaper). If cheaper speaker sounds better then more expensive one using eq then what's the point of buying the more expensive one?
Yeah I understand everything you are saying but some people lean towards the name brand more you know how it is bud.
They should be placed on the table so that you don't know where they are. And you should play several speakers at once, even if two are just for comparison.

On the M+ I have everything from 500 up half way up and everything under a few notches up ramping up to 500 and then a straight line with a few boost and dips where you feel it will sound better. So 500 up boost half way with a few tweaks that’s you feel sounds better.

For this I think I boosted the mids and high +2. But what I normally do on my speakers is boost all the EQs to max, turn the volume up on max and slowly start pulling the EQs down 1 by 1 for the sound you like. I start from left to right when pulling down bass first and end with Highs.

What I normally do bud is. Turn you speaker in 70-max and boost all the EQ all the way up and pull the all down one by one until you find the sound you want start with the bass side. I normally boost everyone +2 expect the bass

Thanks Ronnie aka Wanna Buy it. I think I will return this charge 5 radio once you said it has no EQ and I discovered that it has no strap like the extreme OH boy. That's a problem and I see the Soundcore Motion plus is cheaper this little Charge 5 was no slouch on the $$. Gotta give customers an EQ like U.E Megaboom3 which I just lost/ stolen SMH. JBL getting over on Namebrand but lesser companies are delivering like W-King.

ahhh man for real that is crazy haha. But If you are into EQing a speaker to get that perfect sound soundcore motion plus. If you want something that's nice right out of the box JBL charge 5. If you don't mind something bigger like the size of the JBL Xtremes go with the W-King x10 like $115 and It slaps for real best value you will get from a speaker. comes with a strap as well but might be a little annoying to carry around even with the strap because the size.
