I knows it’s been a year roos , but I’m binging all your videos - with your globulosa treat for mites - when my hoya did exactly that I got a microscope and it has mites that we cannot see even with a magnifying glass … :) ❤️❤️😍

Hi. Hope you had a good Christmas. I am just getting into Hoya’s and I love them. I have several Pubicalax that I bought this fall. I like the smaller plants because of space and I enjoy watching them grow. I also don’t want to buy expensive plants and then have them die if I can’t figure out how to care for them. I loved seeing all of your Hoya’s. I have a few I really want to get. The Australis Lisa, the Princess, the Whyettii.

$9 Euro's for a full pot of Polyneura 😱😱😱 it's goes for a minimum $50 for a 2 leaf unrooted cutting in the US right now 😭😭😭 Roos you are soooo lucky!!! And the plants you have access to locally amaze me and the prices wow just wow.

Haha thanks! I actually think English is pretty easy compared to German and French which I also speak (much more poorly), but lately with my injured brain I can't think of words sometimes. For the Retusa if the humidity is nice and high maybe cool tempts might be better, maybe a plastic baggy in a colder spot? good luck!
My wishlist Hoyas are Hoya Imperialis (all the varieties). (Right now I have the red and the white) Hoya Mindorensis ( all the varieties. Right now I have a small cutting of the PG 12) Hoya Sigilattis, Hoya David Cumingii, Hoya Curtisii, Hoya Endaunensis, Hoya Rosita. Those are the wishlist hoyas that I can remember
I really liked you hoya Obovata. I can only hope my small one grows as big yours one day. Hoya fungii is on my wishlist. But my favorite hoya in your collection was you GORGEOUS hoya sp. I really hope I can find something similar to it because it is truly so beautiful💚🥰

On top of my hoya wishlist is the finlaysonii -- but after seeing that you have them in the terrarium, the finlaysonii may be moved down the list a bit. Meredithii may be the new number one I don't have yet. Thanks for this -- the tour was fantastic! 💚
Thanks! It probably doesn't need a terrarium but I got it in winter as a propagation! Once spring comes with more warmth and light I'll move it into the house again 👍🏻

I got a "chinghungensis" from paul shirley that I really like. If you like weird-leaved hoya, kaniakumariana is just 😙👌. And of course calycina stargazer...it's a Dutch cultivar so I guess it's rather easy to get in the Netherlands.
Very lovely i think if i had to choose the hoya rope both green and vatigated to start with or the one that like cold matbe by my windows that get coldish or in my dinning room thats colder then my living room and bedroom. But really any i might get cuttings or small plant for little cost. I'm on tiny fix income
Ah yeah smart to think about your space! There are Facebook groups that you can get cuttings in for cheap or even just shipping cost (stamps), altho I recommend waiting with shipping plants and cuttings till it's not so cold xx

I have my globulosa in cold low light in the winter (18 degrees C). I read on Vermont hoyas that it likes lower temperatures. Mine is dark and super shiny. Maybe try lower temperature if you have it in your greenhouse. I have mine next to my serpens if that helps :) both are thriving.
I mostly use metal wire to make them myself. The ones that I bought are from Hema but out of the collection now. Oh and I bought some bent bamboo stakes that I shortened and use as a trellis too
I don't have white pots with attached trellis. They are separate bamboo stakes. The pots with attached trellisses are the mint ones, from Hema but they don't sell them anymore 🙄

Hey Liz, that's awesome welcome to the world of hoya! Identifying hoya is a really tricky business that can only be done with microscope footage of the flowers by real experts. Check the videos of @basie.plants for more on this! Of course a lot of people on Facebook will tell you the id with certainty. Just keep this in mind when you read that 😉

Common name and exact id have the same challenge, so what I said goes for both unfortunately. But yeah you can probably get a good guess to the id (common and/or Latin) on Facebook. I highly recommend learning the Latin names, it's a fun game to get into and it helps communicate about your plants correctly with others.
Why is it so hard to find care videos now a day, I have so many of the same videos as you, I’m watching this in May 2023, and it is getting harder to find hoya species care videos, like how to take care of Hoya nova ghost, or latifolia from Sarawak..etc be damn lucky if you couldn’t even find some of the new species, they don’t even exist on CZcams. I’m not even sure where you go to find most of the Hoyas species anymore or even pictures of them...
Hmm I never make care videos about one species as I feel like there are two or maybe 3 types of hoya care that work for all. But check Miro from @basieplant - he makes a lot of hoya content!

I’m not even sure where you go to find most of the Hoyas species anymore or even pictures of them...
Hmm I never make care videos about one species as I feel like there are two or maybe 3 types of hoya care that work for all. But check Miro from @basieplant - he makes a lot of hoya content!

It depends on the plant for me, some hoya are so easy and fast but yes others are little bitches.
