I mean at least he sounds similar. Mason and Hudson sound nothing like the old VAs.

The new Mason actualy ruined the campaign for me. The new Hudson just sounds like BO1 Hudson but 60 years old, which fits.

What pisses me off the most is that James C. Burns (Original voice actor) wasn't even given an offer to voice Woods in Cold War.

I can see why they replaced him. He's a bit cartoonish for the woods they're tryna portray. The whole feel of cold war is different

In Cold War, Mason & Woods doesn't feel like the same characters from BO1 and BO2. Cold War just feels off.
He's close enough, but hey this is what happens when you make the real bo2 8 years late, the original VA was most likely not used because of his age

It’s probably because this was supposed to be a reboot but they made it a sequel.
@@griggerson5977 in terms that MW19 is reboot, it’s fair that Price was recasted, plus I loved Barry Paul Sloan’s performance.

They shouldn’t have replaced James Burns.
They shouldnt have to replace any of them. The mindset of Treyarch’s decision for the casting is mind-boggling and pointless. They hired cheap imitations of everybody when they make hundreds of millions per year on each COD release. Now theres a rumor of Richtofen coming back without with original voice actor as well

Exactly you get it. The original woods was like an authentic badass that felt like a REAL operator from that era. The NEW woods is like a caricature of the original woods and is so fuckin hammy 😂😂 especially when he says “he lied to us, he fuckin lied to us!!” The original woods wouldn’t say no goofy shit like that 😂
There’s something about the old woods that makes him so badass and with the new woods you don’t get that type of feeling

Am I the only person who thinks the new woods va did a fantastic job and thinks he’s sounds good as woods. I do love the classic and wished treyarch didn’t rob him of his role but at least we got someone decent to preform the lines.

Eh, the voice actor in Cold War sounds like he exaggerates his voice to sound like woods, unlike the other guy cuz it was his normal voice

More casual cod fans probably wouldn't notice the difference between the VAs which is props to the new guy for being pretty close. But once you really listen in on it you can tell the new guy is having to actually put more effort into the voice where as the voice felt more natural for the old VA
Damon Victor Allen did a good job trying to perfect Woods’ voice but would have liked to see James C. Burns play him again so make it better. Also for Chris Payne Gilbert who played Mason in Cold War sounded nothing like how the original Mason sounds. He was not even close to sounding like Sam Worthington. Overall Sam Worthington and James C. Burns should have been called back to play these two legendary characters

I think the reason why they didn't bring back James C. Burns & Sam Worthington to portray Woods & Mason is to do with the fact that the game was originally being developed by Sledgehammer & Raven before Activision had Treyarch take over SH's place.
And that because it was set in the Cold War during the 1980's and BO1 was set in the Cold War in the 60's they decided to bring back the characters but felt the time they had to develop it wasn't good enough to have Burns & Worthington return.

Treyarch got pissed off that James did some voice acting for a fan animation or something, and Sam Worthington is probably busy with Avatar 2 or just didn't want to do it. you can look up and find out that he voice acted for the game but most of the famous actors except for James didn't actually go on set. Most of them voiced acted from a recording studio or something like that.

I’m late to this, but Damon still had Woods’ character on here. That’s why he’s still my favorite and why i use him on Multiplayer alot 🖤 respect to the new VA for trying his hardest for Woods and Burns for our childhood 🖤

He did probably the best you can do to imitate James C Burnes, but that doesn’t mean there was any damn reason to replace him when James was clearly willing to come back to the role.
I dunno if Activision realized Sam Worthington wasn’t gonna be able to come back and said “fuck it, purge the cast,” but it was really moronic of them not to get him back either way.
I don’t see why they couldn’t have just gotten James and Sam to voice woods and mason, it would’ve been so simple, James even said he would’ve taken the role for frank again
