I found a baby jumping spider on me in my car and he stayed with me the whole 25 minute ride home so I guess its just meant to be
I was in the car and I saw a littel spider and mom wanted me to kill it but I caught it and made it a habitat
Same. Today actually. She is a baby and I got her fruit flies and in 20 minutes she hunted one and is happy spider. I hope she will be a happy and healthy spider for the time we have her. Keeping her in her little container then going to move her to her terrarium. I think she is a female because of colors.

I found using a funnel to put fruit flies in a flip-top spice container really helped. You can do a quick sprinkle with fewer escapees.

Should I feed my sling everyday? I just bought one and she’s always hungry
I had a jumping spider for a couple weeks and suddenly she disappeared. Later I found eggs and now I have a ton of baby jumpers escaping their tiny air holes and invading my home. Not that I mind, but they are so tiny that they are fitting through air holes I poked with a NEEDLE. Pretty sure momma died

you only put them in the fridge for a couple minutes to calm them down before feeding. Normally they can be anywhere in room temperature to let them breed.
I’m new to this and accidentally destroyed the egg sac when separating the mother. Even with the eggs spilled everywhere they still hatched! My son and I are very excited, but we’re not sure when to start feeding them as they’re already out of the sling so the timeline is off. Do you have any suggestions?

Where can you get the little containers for your slings?
These containers I got from the dollar store. They are paint containers. but I do not recommend them. There is a little gap at the top they can sneak into and thet can easily be squished when opening the cap. Im using deli cups now.

I have a dozen tiny jumping spiders I constantly see on my screens and outside on the siding of the house.....will they grow much bigger.....they are black and white and very tiny like the diameter of a drinking straw whole??
it depends on where you live, so look up what species you have in your area to see how big they get. I have a lot of phidippus audax/bold jumping spiders around my house that look like you described and they do get quite a bit bigger, like the size of a penny.
How soon after they hatch should the slings be separated from the mother? I have a phidippus audax and she laid eggs that are just starting to hatch
Just had my first hatch and it took approx. 2 weeks for them to start fleeing the nest.
I do notice the mother came back to the nest with the food I gave her. Although the babies are all over the place.

Any tips please. I was able to keep 2 sets of slings alive but her 3rd only 2 survived. And the 4th batch almost half have died. The left the nest for a couple days so I put them into a separate container to feed them but they won't eat the fruit flies. Anything else I can try to feed them?
Get a moth to lay some eggs.
They love to slurp up the larvae.
They eat them like spaghetti. 😋
