Thanks for the tutorial! Did not expect the beats to be so good!
Great video! One of my few gripes with this bike is the fact they used a slotted head bolt instead of a hex socket cap screw. Allen keys don't slip like a flathead screwdriver does 😅
Perfect timing on this video bro! Thank you so much, thank god I’ve got notifications on for your vids. I had my first drop today at 850 miles on my rebel and broke off my clutch lever 😂
Burch to the rescue! Ordered the same pair off your Amazon link. Thanks again for the perfectly timed video, homie!!
Bro...amazing timing on this video. Literally just ordered new brake and clutch levers for my Rebel 500. I’ll be watching this again this Sunday 👌🏼
I’ve been riding for 5 years now. Started with a 300 now have an 1100. Dropped my bike for the first time yesterday. Luckily the lever was the worst of it. Thanks as always.
Same here. Just today… god damned…
3x here, luckly only the handlebar got a little twisted (easy fix). Some dents in the gas tank, but nothing to be worried about
@@CarlosJimenez-uh4hdhow’d you get to align the handle bar again sadly happen to me to the right side is off centered a bit
Just put these on thanks for the guide! Low profile, feels great and look sweet unlike the huge ugly stock levers
I hear the clutch lever side still isn’t reduced all that much with theses levers… is this true in your opinion or experience with the clutch lever? Thanks
You da Man, Burch! I just installed and it made a world of difference. Thanks!
Thank you for the tips. I was able to change my levers.
You should also verify the clutch cable still completely disengages the clutch. It’s easy for those to stretch out over time as well.
Yes, very important. Installed mine and almost shit myself when I popped it into first and the bike nearly took off with the clutch pulled in 😂
They look awesome dude. Respect from the uk 👍👍🏍🏍
Awesome!! Thanks so much. Just changed mine!
I just bought these levers last week for my small hands! SO glad you included this video since I'm putting them on today :). Do I need to loosen the cable somewhere else on the bike? I saw a video somewhere that said I need to loosen the cable for the clutch down below before doing the part with the lever.
Perfect timing! Some people loosen the clutch cable where it attaches at the transmission on the right side of the bike (the part that sticks out near your leg), but I was able to finagle it by only loosening it at the lever!
@@LifeOfBurch Thanks!!
I see that you got these 6 months ago. I'm thinking about purchasing them. Have you had any issues and what are your thoughts on them? Seen some old videos about front brake locking up. Thanks in advance for any advice.
@@pambaldwin9379 I was thinking about you when I saw this video that it was what you were wanting but thought I would have to wait till practice to tellyou about them.
@@orangetruck651 I saw this and showed Clay. He ordered them for me.
Hey Burch - nice levers! Also noticed your phone mount. Handlebar space is a little congested on the Rebel - what did you use?
Cant be that easy, would it be the same process on the Rebel 1100?
Just a suggestion: you could put a headlight cage. Like that would look cool on the bike perhaps. Nice clutch and break levers though
Thanks!
Thanks so much dude!! 🙏🏻🤘🏻
Previous owner dropped bike and chipped off a bit of the OG clutch lever. Replaced it today using this video !
The only issue was the thing you screwed in at 3:18 to relieve tension was really hard to screw/unscrew. I still managed to get the clutch cable out & replace it with another lever but should that be screwed back out for tension or is it not that important ? Or as long as the cog wheel looking screw is tight I’m fine ?
Damn dude. Glad you don’t have covid.
@LifeofBurch your affiliate link for the T-Rex Exhaust is broken. Just thought you'd want to know.
I have a question, would any clutch and break lever work when installing new ones? I was thinking of installing a vintage type of lever on my Honda rebel 500 but was unsure whether or not it would be compatible.
Yikes!! Ordered/delivered...but DOES NOT fit a 2020 Rebel. My fault. I should have read the description more closely.
Did you ever find some that do fit the 2020 Rebel? I haven't had any luck.
@@jtuan05 No. I looked at the Puig Heritage levers, which say they're a universal fit. However, the description also says you need the Puig lever mounts and those are bike-specific. They do not fit the 2020 500Abs??? Really expensive, too!!
That's strange because it works on my 2020 Honda rebel 300
I'm trying to put ape hangers on mine I just don't know which clutch cables to buy
I just installed the adjustable levers, indeed very easy. They work fine, but... (there is alwasy a but), they are not as tight as the original levers, as they have not one but two joints, they move vertically a couple of millimeters, I guess this is normal ?
I had the same issue with the vertical wobbling, what I did was use a star or hex bit to tighten the screw on the lever and it helped a bit.
Hey Burch, it looks like you live in my Sister's neighborhood
Is your headlight tinted yellow?
All I have is Gun grease can I use that
For some reason mine didn’t fit in the clutch
Does this work on a rebel 1100?
hoping you can help me out, i tried installing the brake lever but it wouldnt engage, i checked and looks like its not hitting the disengaging pin (not enough clearance) do you mind sending me a photo of yours?
Unfortunately I sold the bike earlier this year 😔 post something pictures in the “Honda Rebel 300 500 & 1100” Facebook group so we can take a look and help you out!
@@LifeOfBurch you bet, thanks for the reply really appreciate it
Hey Burch I installed these levers on my 2021 rebel and I’m not sure if I installed the clutch lever back properly because my friction zone on the clutch disengages earlier whereas the stock ones friction zone was close to the top.. Anything I did wrong?
I personally had found that you just had to adjust the lever more with the adjustable wheel. Sorry I realize this is like 5 months late. Btw I have a 2020 honda rebel
Hey my man ~ I bought a rebel 300 2020. I’m having a hard time refilling gas. Is there an angle w the gas hose thing that I need to do when putting gas? Like the gas won’t come out. Thank you!
Depends on your state. Some states have a special part that requires you to insert and then angle the hose down. You can usually ask the gas attendant for the trick. I was in another state last year and had to ask, it is embarrassing (but I lived).
@@jasonshortphd i did ask and cleark had no idea but adviced me to go and try another slot...which it didn't work too. I played w it and after 20 mins trying i got to refill my tank lol smh I'm in CA by the way
@@tubeee87 yep CA has those emission pumps. On cars you have to push down on that little skirt around the metal tubing. It doesn’t work upside down either. Good luck!
@@jasonshortphd oh shit you might be right. I tried pressing tiny metal thing inside the hose and didn’t work. I’ll try that next time. Thanks a ton!
if you see an accordion style cover on the pump itself you're going to have to pull it back before you pull the trigger.
Have you tried to change the lever on rebel 500 to your new rebel 1100 2021?
Thanks
They’ll fit, but the cruise control won’t work because the 500 levers are missing the part that hits the sensor for cruise control. I haven’t tried personally, but someone on the Rebel 1100 Facebook group has.
Thank you for the info
You can still disable the cruise control by pressing the main button right
@@carterhsiao3929 typically yes. But with the Rebel 500 levers installed, the 1100 won’t even allow you to activate cruise control.
Did you use the washers it came with?
Nope, but it probably wouldn’t have hurt to use them. They did have a bit of wiggle, but never bothered me much.
Oh haha my bolt for the front brake broke taking it off so now I have to order new bolts 🙃
Do these fit on the 2021 500?
Yup, they should be the same for all years! 🤘🏻
Is this good for Honda rebel 500 2020?
The process is the exact same, but you’ll need to get the levers that are specific to the 2020 model! The brake levers are the same, but the clutch levers are slightly different since the 2020 has the slipper clutch.
Thank you and I loved your videos, it’s helpful specially I just purchased one, job well done!
I can't for the life of me get the clutch cable out long enough...
Adjust it a bit down at the engine on the right side! Mine worked without needing to, but it was a really tight squeeze!
