- I went ahead and grabbed the Hasbro Star Wars Black Series Deluxe Throne Room Boba Fett from Mandalorian season 2 because....why wouldn't I? I still have problems with these being called "Deluxe" but I can't help feeling the fun here.

I’m glad to say that the original promo images didn’t do this figure justice cuz it looked horrible original imo lol. The colors are still off but it’s definitely better idk if it’s worth $30 tho
In my country it's 55$ (if you convert it from the actual currency) and it's alot of money but in my opinion it is worth it

@Random Pixel Jesus Christ bro calm down they’re just toys you don’t have to shame people for not wanting to spend tons of money on collectors items. All of hasbro’s lines have been $20 for years so when there’s a price increase people are going to notice. Figures that are bigger (hulk, Zeb) or figs that have more accessories (deluxe black widow) actually deserve a price increase because there is an increase in what you get. The reason I say that this Boba isn’t worth a $10 increase is because it’s a very basic figure. Other Hasbro lines like Marvel Legends and GI Joe classified are constantly releasing figures with NEW molds and more accessories and they are still $20
@@mp3frostbyte Not to mention that with Hasbro having already released a deluxe Boba Fett that was loaded with accessories, it makes these newer releases look all the more overpriced and gives a perfectly justifiable reason for collectors to pass on it.

I have had my Throne Room Boba for a few weeks now, and I really liked it more than I thought I would. Since it has reused parts, this one is compatible with the famethrower and thruster fire effects from the ROTJ Boba, so I really would have liked to see those included along with the grappling hook. Since he did use those features in the show.

Agreed, at least if you have them you can use them, but yes it would've been cool to get them again with this guy especially for those who didn't buy the previous figure.
The way this review started I was really considering canceling my preorder--but the posed photos at the end convinced me to still get it because it does look good when in poses! I still like the figuarts more for the colors alone, but since it's figuarts I'm a little hesitant to play with it frequently so this should scratch the posing itch.
Crazy just how different the actual TBOBF costume is from this--enough that I will probably get that figure too. 😂
Yeah, it's mostly tighting the pants and silhouette for BoBF, but different enough to give us yet another figure. And I'll get it because that's really my favorite. MARKETING! haha!
@@TheFwoosh Question--now that you realized (along with myself) that the cloth skirt on the Figuarts is inaccurate, will you be customizing it to be more screen accurate? I'm debating cutting mine (at the moment I just folded the part covering the left leg to the right a bit, which isn't too bad).
Once the Dark Trooper comes out you can have Boba and Mando flying at the same time using the effects
I'm glad you did get it. I like the figure and yes I'm getting it. However I do agree they are slapping a deluxe tag on it and charging more when it has nothing to make it deluxe, especially if they miss parts they should have painted. If they charge us we should have so much more

Not going to lie.....it is literally your crouched pose on your table towards the end of this video that totally sold me on this figure as was going to be a skip for me before seeing how it can look. So once again I thank you (though you are truly the arch nemesis of my wallet).

11:37 seems the figuarts version got the green paint accurate
Yeah, I noticed that when I was editing. Still not perfect match but closer than the Black Series.
Agreed, I wonder if a wash with the Archive-X Paint should do the trick, ie. 1975 light green or Weyerhauser green
I'm definitely getting him but yeah, there is no reason for it to have the "deluxe" price since it has the same amount of stuff as the mando figures, and they were $20-22. it seems like they're just giving this deluxe price to fan favorite characters that they know people will buy. they did the same to the bad batch wrecker.
With Wrecker I can almost justify a higher price. Bigger with a body that has a WAY less chance of reuse, if any. With Boba, where they can salvage parts a few times over, not so much.

It is so odd seeing un-helmeted Boba.
I missed the figuarts, and having the Black Series in hand I feel better about it. Other then the too high price, I really like this figure. The higher price is making justifying figuarts prices easier, in general.
You managed to pose that heavy of a figure on one foot I'm actually impressed by Hasbro for this new boba

I’ve pre-ordered two versions of Boba Fett from the Mandalorian and TBOBF. When I put them on the shelf they are going to be holding different guns. I like to do that whenever I can.

I got this and the Tython 'dirty' version. Not sure which one I like more (though I tend to lean more on the 'dirty' version just bc I think Boba should look a little worn). One thing that keeps getting me are the hoses on the right arm which definitely hamper the movement and poseability. Other than that, I do love this figure

Looks better than I was anticipating. I have the SH Figuarts so I ended up canceling my pre - order for this. I don't like the legs on this guy. I'm usually not crazy about soft goods but I like what Bandai did with their version.
Looks great! I'll be using the Figuarts to sit on the throne while this one will be posed on the shelf. Also you can never have too many Boba Fetts, haha~
Event hough I really like this one I think I'm gonna sit this one out. I really want an actual Book of Boba Fett Boba Fett and since Hasbro would only have to redo the pants and mantain everithing else....I think I'll wait.
I had the exact same thought as you when I got my SHF Boba, that I'd probably just cancel my Black Series pre-order. But now that I'm seeing that they fixed the color of the under suit from the prototype images and certainly after seeing your review, I'm glad I kept the pre-order and can't wait to get it now!
This and the Book of Boba Fett outfits are my absolute favorite looks for Boba Fett so I'm now inclined to get every plastic representation of them I can haha.
Yeah, if I had a blaster to my head and had to pick my favorite, I would go with Book of Boba Fett with the tight pants. Looks very Jango, but in Boba colors, and I love it. BUT.....I don't have a blaster to my head and will take most versions in figure form, haha!

Damn the black series looks way better than the promo pictures. I have the Shf boba but im kinda leaning towards the black series more now. For the deluxe hasbro should of gave us some effects like smoke from the rocket or effects for the knee rockets like the blast effect for the shf boba but what can ya do. I could bitch forever on silly things lol but i really dig this figure cool review robo your the man!

I know that I am way late, and I don't know if this has been said before, but Boba's rifle is different because Luke chopped it in half during ROTJ, and it was discarded afterwards
He looks awesome! The only thing that bothers me is that the black sleeves don’t move with the shoulder armor and just stick out, but otherwise he’s pretty dope. However, I think I’m going to pass on this and wait for an actual BoBF Boba since I like that outfit a lot better, and hopefully that one comes with his Gaffi stick.
Tbh I’m watching this 1 year later then when this video was released but I gotta say I really like bobas new look I like it more than his return to the Jedi I like Matt green then the bright green and then the black cloak under his armour.
I think the proportions are better that the SHF. Thanks for posing him on the throne....really wanted to see what it looks like with the knee over hangs. Will have to replace the sash with fabric. The SHF has better knees and I like how the TBS helmet fits on the SHF but to have to purchase 2 figures to get the ultimate 1/12 Boba is steep.
Yeah, this is definitely more realistic in the proportions department.
I actually like this new look of Boba Fett with the black under his armour makes it really pop! Wouod have been good if they added the Mandalorian sign on his shoulder pad! Also did those extra little touches of paint like on his knee pads! After all we are being charged deluxe price and it's gone up so we expect alot better quality for what they are charging.
The jetpack is correct. There's two versions: the rotj and the esb, but he painted green and blue the rotj only on book of boba fett. In mando he uses the esb, and stashed the rotj on slave one's cargo hold, next to the chairs.
That's correct from a certain point of view. But as we can see, strangely that ESB jetpack has that repair plate on it as well.. per the Figuarts figure.
black series takes it for me. lil paint work and some third party soft goods and itll be tops.
And actually, probably still cheaper than the SHF. I always forget to factor that on camera.
this is one where i may be able to make the soft goods my self even. maybe.

Thanks your great review! And I guess the helmet could be made better for the scale and the shape of the upper parts! FOr myself , I prefer Hasbro to use the helmet of the ROTJ deluxe version. I have this figure, After a while, the missile on the jet pack snapped
I'm surprised how much they tried to hide in the articulation here. I was worried those baggy pants would make him really stiff to pose. But he actually has quite a range if you don't mind the break up.
I missed the preorders for all of these so I've been playing with older boba fett figures to feel content.
I mean they put out that return of the jedi one not that long ago and I ended up buying that twice.

Black Series helmet on that SHF body is the best look. Yeah slight color difference but just looks so much better. That's my plan
Yes Boba I made a custom with a Goku head but gave him a head band so it is now a Star Wars Bardock

If they just made the sash soft cloth that would be dope so it's not just sticking straight out then there would be some flowyness to it
I hope they don’t reuse this upper body for the proper BoBF figure, its taking them a lot of time already, so they should just make it as accurate as possible, they already messed up the Tython Ruins look with that piece. By then we would be getting this flak vest for the third time, out of which only one is really accurate (Tython Ruins has messed up sleeves, BoBF shouldn’t have most of the dents on the armor + collar armor attaches differently to the back armor).
TVC Mando S2 and BoBF Fetts share the same upper body mold, also the same head, I just hope TBS ones end up being more accurate than that
Ooo, you're right, at first glance it looks the same but there are little differences. Enough differences to justify new molds though? And, this one also doesn't have that "small armor" feel to the torso, with more cloth ab section showing, actually looking liek the better fitting armor of BoBF. Hmmm.
@@TheFwoosh with my main figure shelf becoming a row of Bobas throughout the timeline, a new mold is something I would really appreciate, getting up close to see all the little details differentiating the costumes is so much better than than just seeing the same figure with different paint apps
It’s just really frustrating when I actually notice these details being obviously wrong, knowing there’s nothing I could do with them. No dents in BoBF was one of the first things I saw. With Tython Ruins one I know I’ll just trim the vest sleeves a little, glue the shoulder pads to them, maybe sand down the sleeves on arms and rip off the left knee pad. But if they reuse upper body for BoBF one, I don’t know how would I fix it…
But right now I’m pretty much just imagining these figures and getting annoyed by possible inaccuracies, there’s a possibility once I actually get the toys in my hands I’d be like “why would I care so much about this thing being 2 mm off”. It already happened to me with ESB Boba, been putting him off for months, thinking he just looks bad, finally snapped and bought him a week ago and he turned out to be amazing… Not to mention Imperial Crosshair which is one of my favorites despite the widely hated shoulder pads and belt, I just don’t really care as long as it’s not Boba (I can imagine that’s what non Boba fanatics think when looking at these Fett repaints)
Still, if they only made an updated mold for us Boba fans who notice things like that…
The best detail for the BOBF armour that I have seen is in the fortnite skin, for both front and back

This Fett also has the benefit of being like. $60? 70? Cheaper than the figuarts. I’ll probably just wait for a proper BoBF figure, even if it’s just different boots.
And pants. Don't forget the pants, those are a huge difference. And yeah, if I had any willpower whatsoever when it came to Star Wars, I would wait too, that's my favorite look.
I'm not gonna lie, I was on the fence about this figure purely because of the promo images but after seeing it in hand and seeing the show and seeing the significance of the tusken robes I think I can safely say I'll grab this when it releases near me

I haven’t tested it yet, but the jet pack and flamethrower seem to be compatible with the flame parts from the return of the Jedi version.

My biggest gripe with this is the shade of green seems very off (almost too olive?), especially compared to the shf
It’s official imma have to give mine a complete cloth replacement from the waist down
both mando s2 and tbobf make a point to show his knee rockets so one of these should really come with effects to help justify the price a bit more. and there really needs to be a jetpack rocket effect
I’ve been spraying all these Hasbro greasy and oily and glossy looking head sculpts with a super clear matte spray made by “Mr. Hobby”, and I gotta tell you it makes a huge difference. Just about every new 6” human likeness character now comes with a coat of glossy shine to it, but this dulling spray eliminates that and significantly improves on the look and feel of the figure.
@Fwoosh, do you also apply a matte spray to some of your figures, and if so, would you ever consider making a video demonstrating the before/after results and benefits? I’m sure a lot of your subscribers would be interested in something like that, especially considering how many Hasbro human characters are screwed up with excessive gloss and shine.
6:20 Lastly, what a shame this figure, and just about every Boba Fett figure that goes back to the beginning of time, suffers from the same design flaw where bending the elbows with the cable line feeds into the gauntlet puts those cables at risk of snapping and breaking off from the gauntlet. There’s never enough slack before breakage occurs, so once again something so basic as normal elbow articulation of this, and just about every Boba Fett figure ever made, is severely limited. That’s the reason why on my shelf every one of my Bobas looks the same with a similar gun pose….🤦🏻♂️.
I guess this is…what, Boba #2 of around 20, 25+ new Boba repaints and repacks coming between TVC and BS???…..🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

When I get mine I will repaint it to look like the shf version also this figure in my opinion is better you don’t get 2 holsters the helmet is just right and as much as the plastic sash is accurate I will get that skirt piece bc it look better to me love the review keep up the great work

I bought 2 figuarts Boba (coz they are just so good in my opinion...) and thought will pass on the Hasbro one... but now I feel like I might get the Black Series one too if it goes on sale so I can display the Black Series one in my office
Odd comment here: A month after Mando season 2 came out, I lost my vision. I was a big fan of how Boba's style was changed in it. But I distinctly remember him having one of those kilt things, like Commander Bly (i think?) had in the prequels. So, even being blind, I recently bought the Boba Hot Toys figure anyway, because I liked it and it was the last Star Wars I'll ever get to see. But now I find out there was no kilt thing, and I'm just so confused. I swear there was one after he repainted the armor in the imperial base raid episode. Guess I'm just remembering wrong, it's been 3 years now.
Actually, the artwork on the side IS from TBOBF (Notice the TBOBF helmet with the eye "scar" and wider visor, instead of the one from Mando) but the figure is from Mandalorian, it doesn't even match the artwork on the side

They didn’t put the patch on the jet pack because if you watch closely in the mandalorian, he actually got a new jet pack. His old one can be seen sitting on the floor in the slave 1 in the scene after they take off from picking up bill burr. So any figure chronologically after tython should not have the patch
The Figure is great, so much better than the promo photos. Hasbro needs a new photographer for their figures. The issue is obviously the "deluxe" tag...its annoying they couldn't include even the same accessories from the Jedi version as the flame effects are compatible with this figure
