They were originally 6 members (when debuted 2009-2010) Last quarter of 2010 (they added 1 member) so they became 7 Mid-year of 2012 (they added again) they became 8, but lost 1 member back to 7 again. Mid-2013 (1 member left again) So they're back to the 6 Original members 'till now composed by Jiyeon, Hyomin, Eunjung, Soyeon, Qri & Boram. The 4 members you were referring is their sub-unit called T-ara N4 (Jiyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin & Areum only).
HitomiCOD2 you mean a sub-unit? I don't know either. But what I've know, a sub-unit group done different style from the usual group. In T-ara case, T-ara as a whole group are known for catchy dance songs, while T-ara N4 unit want to show hip-hop or another level of dance within the group. As you can see, members who belong to the sub-unit are the members who are the BEST DANCERS within their group. In SNSD case, their sub-unit is called TTS which is known more for a VOCAL (they want to show on their sub-unit a band composed of members with great VOCALS). That's what I thought about it.
Why did they try to keep adding a seventh member? The six girls weren't good enough? I'll never understand why they would try to disrupt the chemistry of an established group and then expect there not to be trouble. Thank god they stopped.
