mate you're a legend. I bought a suit the night before an extremely important job interview and was freaking out because the tag was still stuck on it. Thanks.

Legend. Same thing happened to me and this worked perfectly. I used a 3mm drill bit on my impact driver and went slowly, letting the drill bit do the work, while holding the security tag firmly in the other hand. Once it started to seperate it was easy to pull apart. Thanks again.

Fantastic. Thank you very much for the hack. Slow and steady. 3 to 4mm bit fine. The objective is to chew/grind out head of the pin sitting in under the surface of the unbranded cup/side of the tag.

Worked a treat. Thank you sir.

Brilliant, thanks. Identical tag left on online purchase from Anaconda. Only need to slowly drill down about 3-5mm while staying on the pin. The head of the pin is sitting below the plastic. Once the head breaks off the tag comes apart.

Look no further, this is the best way I found online and am really grateful for the post. Don’t get into lighters - too risky. I used my cordless drill with metal drill bits, starting with a 3.mm and worked my way up. I had to drill around the central locking cylinder to be able to remove it which I did with my leather man needle nose pliers, but it worked, just take it easy and with patience you too will save a trip back to the store. In my case it was a purchase from an airport and I hadn’t kept the receipt, and the store in town wouldn’t remove it without the receipt.

I just did it it drilled through the top bit but the flat metal under the top bit still stayed on so I had to pry it off doing so put a small hole nothing major but is a white shirt this method does work but I'd advise using a smaller drip bit first also when it piped off the drill slid off and put a small hole also maybe my drill bit wasn't new enough

Worked well, thank you, but just be careful, and not to get too heavy handed with the drilling, as it is easy to knock the ink. We did knock the ink and lucky the ink that we puncture was red and so was the outfit.

Yep, worked but I got tiny holes where the drill got my jumper... Nothing a needle and thread can't fix tho!
