About Me:
I'm a music producer from California. I've been producing since 2011, and been under the alias OUTLIT since late 2013. I primarily did EDM until 2015, when I started to branch out to Hip-hop. In 2018 I stopped making EDM altogether and completely transitioned to Hip-Hop.

If you don't see the send tracks in your project already here's how to create your own.
1. Assign both your 808 or Sin wave, and your melody to separate mixer tracks.
2. Select the mixer track with your melody, and look at the bottom. You'll see a green arrow pointing down and a bunch of wire looking things.
3. With the same mixer track selected, look at the master channel in the same spot. It's got a knob with a little triangle on top. Click the triangle to UNLINK the melody from the master channel.
4. Make sure the melody channel is still selected and click on the triangle on the bottom of any fresh mixer track.
5. Click on the channel with your sin wave or 808 and link it to the same mixer track you just linked the melody to, but DON'T UNLINK THE 808 OR SIN FROM THE MASTER! Very important. You've just created a bus.
6. Now you can add your distortion and EQ the lows out of the bus to prevent phasing in the low end.
I said 808 OR sin wav because you can have more control over mixing/ phasing if you use a low end signal which is completely separate from the meat of the track. This method is superior for sound design itself. However, using the 808 for this brings out more of the deep fried underground hip-hop sound you're all craving.
thanks for the update i was wondering this a few days ago lol
I didn't realise who you were till I heard your tag youve made some of Yeats best songs thanks for makin this tut
fr. i think he made swerved it. thats crazy
incredibly insightful, especially as someone whos just learning FL and its plugins. crazy how clear the snare/clap comes thru in the mix with this method, thats what always bugs me the most about making my beats with a clipped master
It is insane how helpful this is. thank you!
Major sauce I can’t wait to use this method
thats a masterpiece, thank u for sharing this like fr i always questioned myself this
this is absolutely fucking groundbreaking for me bro
@@ocvr4051 glad I could help!
This was literally the type video I was looking for. I love making rage beats but when I walked into a studio for the first time with these type beats happening it was just horrible. I’ve been looking for a video like this forever but other producers wouldn’t even know or refer to lukrative, f1lthy, etc. I needed to watch someone that made THESE type beats explain and you did everything perfectly. Tysm fr 🖤🖤🩸🩸
nah this crazy

Legend
crazy
thank u SO much bro
damn.
The "send" tracks are ordinary mixer tracks u can use any track for that
Yeah you can turn any track to a send
i always thought about how ppl might as well amplitude modulate the whole song with a square wave

Anyone got a good idea for how to replicate what’s he’s doing with Maximus in Logic Pro? I’ve got everything else down with the sends but need me a Maximus
You could do this with any distortion plugin. I'm sure Logic has an intense distortion, soft clipper, or waveshaper plugin. All Maximus is, is a multiband compressor with saturation settings.
Thanks!@@outlitxx
for some reason when i do it, the original 808 channel doesnt play anything anymore, just the send (bus) channel
try this....link the og track to master, and use "route to this" dont use the "only" one, you need to link both
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
🔥🔥
Less giooooooo
oh this is very convenient, seems pretty applicable for ableton too ill just have to replace Maximus with Roar i think?
not sure i understand what it's doing here, it's a multiband distortion right?
It's capable of that, but all I'm doing is using the saturation on the master tab within maximus. Any waveshaper or distortion plugin could work, and provide a different sound.
@@outlitxx oh nice thatll make this even easier then
on the original 808 should you low pass it at 200?
@@imacenoo74gr should is a strong word. Do whatever sounds best
true
How do I do this in logic or abelton?
How did u do this on ableton
You are crazyyy good
does the distortion bus work on drums too
Great question, of course!
so instead of using fruity maximus can i use a soft clipper with a fruity limiter going into it to boost the gain and control the clipping
yyup
@@outlitxx i used this method and now i;m hearing sharp clicks in my mix occasionally
Yo outlit. I have this sick ass beat I want to share with you. I dont know how to send it so you can edit the whole song but I can just send you the beat so far up to you.
When i play the beat after i made all this. I have no signal from my 808 and lead channel so i can barely hear my 808 and lead but there is no signal
make sure the send track is routed to the master channel. cheers!
@@outlitxx yeah. Is routed to the master channel 🤔
@@outlitxx bro i am having the same prollem
check pinned bros
Why cant I open the right dock? 😭😭
I think it has to do with the template you're using. There is a way to create sends but don't know off the top of my head. When creating a new project just select File - New From Template - Minimal - Empty with 4 sends
@@outlitxxcan I do this with a already existing project??
His name is just F1LTHY lol
Jesus Loves You Unconditionally! Please Repent!
sauce I already got it, delete now
