Edgeworth Sliced Pipe Tobacco (1940s-1950s)

- Friends, do I have a slice of Heaven for you today…or should I say a whole giant can of it!!! I recently acquired a 1940s-1950s 14oz sealed tin of the legendary Edgeworth Sliced Pipe Tobacco by Larus & Brother Company, Inc. This tin was absolutely in perfect condition (one of the best I've ever seen) and was swollen to the point of exploding! I didn't want to waste any time cracking open this treasure of a lifetime.
Edgeworth Sliced was introduced on the American market in 1903. This unique pipe tobacco contains high-quality Tennessee and Kentucky white burley tobaccos, expertly blended for particular smokers who want a personalized flake. Years of aging and unique manufacturing processes ensure a richer flavor, and a longer, cooler smoke.
Sadly, it is a discontinued blend and one that is reminisced by countless pipe smokers. It's simply one of the best flake tobaccos ever made and my all time favorite.
The pipe featured is an old four ball stinger Kaywoodie Signet!

i had the joy of being present when a 1950s tin of Bond Street was opened. the aroma of Paradise filled the room

Oh, wow! I discovered Edgeworth Sliced in 1972, when it was still produced by Larus. Best white Burley EVER! Nothing comes close. You ought to try to find Brush Creek from the early '70s or before. Sometime around 1974 or 5, Lane Ltd. got hold of the name and ruined it. I discovered Brush Creek the same time I discovered Edgeworth. Love your videos.

That Royal typewriter….was new! 😲😲What do you do with….all….of….that….vintage tobacco! 🤔 💨💨💨 I have to concede…you have the best temporal portal I’ve ever seen 😄👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊😉
I love typewriters. This particular one is the same model that Ernest Hemingway preferred. It’s a 1942 Royal Quiet Deluxe. As for the tobacco, I hope to smoke it or pass it on to my son one day!

Absolutely incredible and mouthwatering video. To this day that is the best pipe tobacco I have ever had. Doug Owen send me a years back and to this day I have never enjoyed a blend more. Wish you could still by it.

He did it again. I beginning to feel that life is meant to be unfair. It looks practically identical in texture to the Lane version from what I remember. Maybe the flakes are a bit smaller in width.
Patience, persistence, and time my friend! That’s all it takes to find these treasures. There are still plenty out there waiting to be discovered. I love the cut of this flake and goodness was the flavor and quality of this just next level. Best flake I’ve ever had in my life!

Oh my God that's just beautiful. I would love to actually try that. I love burley and burley flakes. I have a rectangular tin as a display piece on my pipe shelf, but, alas, it is devoid of any tobacco. Where did you possibly find that stuff?
