    for #2, I picked B because I figured that confidentiality would have already been addressed when the client first came to see the social worker

    For question #2, I would tell the client about confidentiality BEFORE she disclosed any information to me. Therefore, the correct answer should be B. Please explain why the client would be discussing any information before the confidentiality disclosure was told to her?

    • @layneeRh13
      @layneeRh13 Před 5 lety +2

      Kathleen Webb agreed. When you are asking about the therapeutic relationship, you think of the therapeutic relationship not paperwork. I cannot see how A is the correct answer.

      @billieshabazz296 Před 4 lety +7

      What I’ve learned/noticed is:
      1. It’s not about what you would do in your practice but more of how the test wants you to answer
      2. Don’t add more information to the question than what is says/is available
      3. In terms of the test taking strategy being taught, once you get down to the last 2 viable options ask yourself which is most accurate.

      Lainie Hoffman Agree I thought B was the most appropriate answer

    • @calianntran
      @calianntran Před 4 lety +1

      I think it’s not so much “should” with the tone of forcing, but it’s moreso validating that it’s natural for him to not feel safe in a new environment. Like telling someone they “should do what’s best for them” isn’t forcing them to do something, it’s acknowledging their autonomy, you know?

    • @Tobias_2024
      @Tobias_2024 Před 3 lety

      @@calianntran EXACTLY! Also, as social workers we a trained to meet clients where they're at. And because he has reservations about this new environment, we are acknowledging that concern, and as a social worker meeting him where he is at in the therapeutic process.

    For question 9, I thought the client was the child, not mother? I chose B because this question reflects the issue with the child conducting this behavior, therefore why conduct an assessment with the mother, is this because the child is underage, please explain more in depth?

    • @nataliejazmin9598
      @nataliejazmin9598 Před 5 lety +1

      I accidentally chose B as well but as she mentioned that wouldn't be the INITIAL phase of treatment ...we want to gather as much information as possible from our clients or clients parents. So it makes sense after that. The mother will give us more perspective...then I'd observe I suppose

    • @grazynagpetersen8717

      I have the same issue. If you don't know the victim, do you have to report it?

    • @proletariatTC
      @proletariatTC Před 6 lety +2

      This isn't considered a breach due to the fact that he plans to do it again. You would have the duty to warn the police of this intent as it's consider a danger to others.

    • @TanMcQueen
      @TanMcQueen Před 6 lety

      Per California's Tarasoff law, you have the duty to warn by notifying the police only if the intended victim is identified. Otherwise, it's a breach of confidentiality. At least that is how my clinical supervisor and I see it.

    • @TheMsDianna
      @TheMsDianna Před 6 lety +6

      but when it comes to Tarasoff we aren't talking about State by State laws..we are talking about what are you supposed to do nationally? The ASWB Clinical exam is a national exam, so you wouldn't answer that question according to your state laws..you would answer the question according to the NASW code of ethics

    Question #6, why is the answer C-Consult with knowledgeable social work colleagues instead of the answer D-continue providing therapy for both clients and keep the therapy services confidential can someone explain in more detail. Thanks

    • @nataliejazmin9598
      @nataliejazmin9598 Před 5 lety +2

      My best understanding of this is......you are continuing to provide therapy for individuals who are in a relationship or ex relationship...well that's a possible conflict of Interest . If one of them finds out they could potentially feel as If you're sharing info with the other person. But ethically, you cant do that either way :)

  • @MosaicSouls
    @MosaicSouls Před 5 lety +1

    Question #6: Suggesting couple therapy to this client does not break confidentiality because you are suggesting it based solely on the information that this client has provided. It’s still not the answer because it will lead to a conflict of interest if the client does agree to couples therapy because of the fact that you know the other partner is your client also. I chose the right answer, C, but for different reasons.

    • @malikajustmalika2412
      @malikajustmalika2412 Před 3 lety

      I found that couple's therapy would be the best answer because it gets it in the open that you are seeing both clients. I didn't agree with this particular answer.
