Who said that Rick Astley wasn't big in the US ? He was huge in the US, "Never gonna give you up" got to number 1 in the UK, US and Australia amongst many other countries. He was one of the biggest pop stars on the planet that year.
This is my favorite Rick Astley song. My ex made me a tape of all of his songs when we were dating. I saw Rick in concert in 1988 in Pougkeepsie, NY. Good show and Martika opened. Remember her??
I remember the 80's and early 90's as being carefree and having fun like this song . Even movies, Tv, cartoons had that aura too. Now these days were in some sort of alternate reality where almost everything sucks. Good thing is we can create our own reality by ourselves.
Funny isn't it, no one would ever have admitted to liking Rick back in the 80's, certainly no bloke would anyway, and now here we are in 2010 and we look back nostalgically telling each other how brilliant he was.....rock on Rick!!
Look guys!! This goes out to the teenagers out there who haven't a clue! In 87/88/89 this guy had hit after hit and he was very popular all over the place. His songs were never off the radio as far as I can remember. This guy had a distinctive voice when people saw him they just couldn't match the voice to his appearance but that is what made him so popular. The guy deserves to be respected.
I´ve seen him yesterday for a concert (together with some other 80 stars) in dortmund. he was the mainact and played 6 songs (live). It was soooo great, perfect voice and his look was like 1987!!!
Haha! Actually a good amount of 80s and 90s songs have guitars or such in the music video even though the actual song doesn’t have any guitar or saxophone. No hate to Rick at all, it’s just a bit weird haha
Rick Astley, what a voice what a talented man, ok, he was here with Stock, Aitken & Waterman, regardless, he was and still is a class act!. This one is right up there no doubt! Fantastic tune!
I know this is a old vid ...but he so cute back then ....love his smile ....that face expresion , ...he sing so good ....and hes still good looking and still has a greit voice . And his songs are so clean and they go right to the heart. And i still love him .
this is one of the songs u never get tired of , hes expresion is ll worthed .....love the guy ....then and now ....... awsome. cant wait till i see him again.
Theres that bloody saxaphone player from the 80s were every bloody middle eight in every bloody song had a saxaphone break !! i bet theres loads of sax players on the dole from the 90s !! bless em!! cant remember when i last heard a song from the 0`s with a sax!! lets start a campaign to get sax players a musical job again!! ps. im a synth player
Woooooo, I love the way he waves his left hand around. Notice near the end, he's also playing drums as that was what he did (drummer) in the band he was in before he went out on his own. This is one of my absolute favorite Rick Astley songs. I'm a TOTAL FAN! Go Rick, go! Woohoo!! :)
I still llove this guy .....he so good ...and that voice at his age then .....nice ......Ya i know that is the 80 .......but he still looks good at days ....and still sings great .... And this song makes u happy .... just look at his faces expresion...... ;-) its so hillarious .... .
I was in London by April 3rd or 4th., 1989, at the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, when Rick Astley opens first Hard Rock Café in London City. It was impossible for me to enter, as it was crowded, full of people.
I have always enjoyed Rick's songs. He has captured the essence of a real mans feelings towards real love. This song is special to me and I have dedicated it towards the one I love.

True love does not come by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.
Wow never thought a 13 year old comment would give me good love advice
u alive bro
You almost made me cry, so true. I wish I could hug you. Love you!!!😙

C'mon!!!! 80/90's dance music is the best EVER! and Rick Astley is a true classic.

Who don't like Rick ?! He's one of the best SAW artist, man !!! Viva Rick .... Yeah, the 80's always brings good memories !!!
25 years on,and i am still mesmerized by the optimistic buzz of the 80's!
that is a certain attraction only appreciated by those lived in it.
2:19 i didn't know Rick invented the Macarena!
Lol
2:19
Rick hasn't aged a day to this day. I think it's funny.
And he hasn't lost his voice at all, like a lot of other 80's singers.
Rick is the true legand as one of Britains best and underrated blue-eyed soul singers.
the thing i love about rick is even though he was under the SAW umbrella he wrote quite a few of his own songs for the saw albums
What a FUN video ... they must have had fun making it. :o) Rick is ADORABLE!!!
Oh man! I grew up with this song. Funny as it may sound, it was and still is a great song! 35 here I come!!!!
This is most definitely a great love song for almost anyone!!

80s n 90s most powerful year!
Great tune back in the days
I think it's awesome that the saxophone guy never gets to take a solo.
This is what I call a singer. In my opinion the 70s and the 80s produced the best singers
His voice is God-given. I just wish he'd been able to sustain a great career. I don't think he was that comfortable with the fame thing.
awsomesong , one of my fav one , and hes so funny and cute in this vid :-)
It wasn't until recently that I started getting into Rick Astley songs beyond "Never Gonna Give You Up" and "Together Forever".
By far the best song on the playlist.
