No shade on this guy but when I think "home theater" I think huge screen and lots of discrete speakers. This is just a room with a tv in it.
That’s how most of our theater installs are. Dedicated rooms with discreet speakers for spatial audio. This client wanted a scaled back home theater.

I love Sonos but wouldn’t call it a real home theater myself. Also can’t stand the audio going in and out on some of the streaming apps

Actually, Sonos Arc has 11 speakers-firing in different directions to create Dolby Atmos. In this case we paired the the soundbars 11 speakers with 2 in-ceiling speakers behind the seating to maximize the effect.

I wall mounted my LG OLED 77C1 with my Arc below, dual Gen 3 subs on either side, and Fives as rear surrounds. Sonos sounds way better compared to my Nakamichi 7.2.4. I used a full motion wall mount to help adjust the OLED away from glare from light sources (doors, windows, lamps, ceiling lights, other rooms, etc...).

I’ll do the research for others - That’s $5085 CAD (3767 USD) for the sound system alone after tax. Mega impressive sound though. Mine is the same but 77G2 and era 300s instead of the fives. I cannot wait for them to come out with Arc gen 2 as that is currently the weakest link.

@@mrgold3591 yes good point. My understanding is they turn off or limit certain drivers in the Arc when you add surrounds. It would be nice if we had control over that.
Sonos is junk. Sennheiser Ambeo with a SVS SB2000 pro sub crushes this Sonos setup.(i had the Sonos setup before the Ambeo). Sonos is good if you don't know better. Once you hear better setups you'll think "why did i settle with that commercial brand"
Just got the exact same set up. only thing different is I just bought the Sanus tv mount for arc so it can come in and out a little for up firing speakers to work still

The sub was placed on the floor, off to the side, to be out of the way. All it needs is power, so you can place these wherever you like them best. you can even have more than one.

Depends how you view it. Sure it's not a dedicated space with Projector/Screen. It's actually a full surround set up with Sonos Amps and other connected in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. To this Client, this was his Theater Room.

In the short, I didn’t see that there were surround speakers, and in ceiling speakers, so that’s closer, and I’m not trying to knock this set up by any means however, I feel like the term “theater” is used to loosely these days. A TV with surround sound is just a basic living room set up now. Maybe I’m being overly critical but this video could’ve been titled I installed a TV and Sonos surround system in a guys living room.

If one has a cabinet one should make use of it. If this was my setup I would have that sound bar/ centre channel on the outside edge of the cabinet. A delayed reflected sound makes the dialogue sound unintelligible.
Would you say the Sonos Arc alone is strong enough for an average sized lounge? Or would you need the Sub Gen 3?😊

My Sony st5000 soundbar would blow that to bits, people talk about arc/earc I got a good setup and trying to get dolby atmos and does not work, only works for ceiling speakers
dont get it ?? , for the same price as the sonos gear , you could have got an a'v receiver and floor speakers and a center speaker and subwoofer , which will out perform and sound bar !!
True. And we do that kind of setup in many projects. However, this client didn’t want speakers taking up space. And they love the simplicity of controlling everything with an AppleTV remote.

Question, does the Sonos Arc mount you used allow enough clearance between the arc and tv for the up firing speakers? If so, this would be awesome and would solve my issue.

Ahh but my dog's....I woulda figured out how to make the wall bigger cos we gettin a projector! Cos in the last 2 or 3 years....the tech moved fast and if that 75" was $700 or $1200 or $3600, a projector today for those amounts would be 50-80 inches bigger and look so phenomenal you wouldn't believe it.
This space is also prewired for a future projector - just in case

Wall mount looks nice but you can’t get at your hdmi ports. That’s unacceptable
“No visible cords” was the clients preference. So the HDMI cords run down the inside of the wall from the TV to the cabinets underneath
@@SmartHomeBrotherswell you have to do what the customer wants. They are going to be upset at their decision when they will need to get at their hdmi cords. Whether to replace them or have to switch them around or for that matter have to add another cord from another component.

A soundbar is not the same as 5 speakers actually placed around the room. This is not 5.1
Agreed. Thats our preferred system. In this case, client did not want in-room speakers like that. So this was the best solution for them.

The set up here is (1) Sonos ARC sound bar, (1) Sonos SUB, (2) Paradigm CI Elite in-ceiling surrounds speakers connected and powered by (1) Sonos AMP. You could also double the subs

What did u do with the wires?
We ran the low voltage wires in the wall during construction. These connect TV with the video sources. The power outlets it’s behind the TV.

The Sonos ARC sound bar handles the LCR, while (2) in-ceiling Paradigm CI Elites handle the rear surround. There’s also a Sonos SUB.
