How the heck is a movie this good produced, and they don't bother to market it?
Well, it’s not a superhero movie, a CGI fest, or woke in any way so I’m guessing Hollywood doesn’t want to put much backing into it.
@@jjones797 it has nothing to do with any of that. The marketing simply sucked.
@Blazing Exil you're in denial lol. That's the exact reason it didn't get strong marketing. Movies these days are mostly all shit because people eat up simple hero/CGI crap with no real strong plot.
@@disregard7275 🤦🏾♂️
@@disregard7275 Jesus Christ both you have a good reason jeez can’t people just have opinions without you saying there opinion is invalid it’s there opinion why contest it
Seems like a good movie actually…I love the main character the man than played the father such an underrated actor.
Anyone who's seen O brother where art thou is a person of culture
@@paulbroner4689 "Do not seek the treasure!"
It's pretty damned good, I'd put it right up there with The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
Buster was the real deal 👌
IM WITH YOU 💯 TIM BLAKE NELSON GREAT ACTOR 👍
The movie name: Old Henry
Since it wasn't listed anywhere
Thank you
Thanks a heap for putting the name up.
It looked such a good film and I was wondering how to find out.
Cheers
Thank you
Thank you!
The title was literally the second sentence of the video 😂SMH
this is a movie that people should be watching imagine your dad is billy the kid man that is fucking gnarly
I don't have to imagine it... Both my grandfathers were fighting different kinds of fascists, my father fought, and I was in war...But we were fighting for our country, not for... other things.
Please edit this comment to remove spoilers and in future, think before posting.
@@ianread9019 watch the video before going into the comments if you dont want it spoilt fir you
I watched this movie on a flight, and was quite impressed. I liked it.
Movie actually looks really good
It is.
What is the name of this mouvie?
@@TheRazvancristian Old Henry
@@TheRazvancristian bro did you bother watching like the first 6 seconds of the video??
@@Leon-mn8eo sorry,my english is not perfect so i dont know exactly how to write that title of the mouvie..from what i heard
This was an excellent film... I wasn't waching so well-made western for a long time... a simple story, but an excellent film, with excellent production, and excellent actors, especially Tim Blake Nelson. He is always good, but here he is exceptional...
Maybe the best western in the last 20 years.or at least right up there with the Jeff Bridges version of True Grit. A sweet gentle farmer with a real history of violence. The bandits truly had no idea the hell they were bringing down on themselves.
I haven’t seen this one yet, but I plan on watching it tonight (so I stopped watching this video 27 seconds in when I realized it could be a good movie. I would say personally my favorite western of the last 20 years was Kevin Costners Open Range, and it’s tied for my favorite western overall with Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven!! I’ve heard this is a phenomenal film so I’m truly excited to see it!!!
This movie was super dope. Nice twist if you didn't have it spoiled early.
Sooooooooo....... nobody is going to mention how great it is that Billy the kid lived in his old age and had a shot at redemption?
I watched this movie. One of the best movies westerns (although not a typical western) to come out in quite some time.
He always plays good cowboys just like in the ballad of buster scruggs
Wat?!?! I dint even recognise him.
I watched this a couple of weeks ago, having no idea who ‘Old Henry’ was. Excellent movie.
What a good movie, I ideally went to recap to search a good movie. I will search on this one.kudos to content creators
The best Western I've seen in a very long time. Excellent!
I had no idea he was Billy, when he put that hat on and Curry said your Billy The Kid, I got chills all over my body...what an awesome scene!
This was my favorite movie from the last 5 years. However, I'm not really sure if I agree with the decision to make Curry try to kill Billy in the end for a little clout, considering the guy had saved his life not one but two times
Yeah that turn or twist didn't sit well with me. A flaw on a really good movie.
That had to happen...It wasn't because of the piece of cloth, Billy saw his mark, saw that he is an outlaw, and the film had to end on such a note, that gives the gravitas to the film, otherwise, with a classical happy ending, it would not be such a good film. Happy ends are something that is present in old films, today it has to end in some other way.
@@ozymandiasultor9480 it actually didn’t have to happen. In real life, it almost certainly wouldn’t have happened. Characters doing things that don’t make sense except to move the plot forward take me out of the film. For people who are fully indoctrinated to Hollywood cliches maybe it seems inevitable. For the rest of us, it’s pointless. The film had plenty of gravitas already. Watch the first ¾ and stop. Tell me you didn’t feel the gravitas. And it had enough excellent twists without the last one. The ending was just sloppy storytelling, regardless of whether it wins awards.
@@ronaldbell7429 That is a film, real life is something different...That is a story, and you are telling some strange things...I am indoctrinated by Hollywood? I live in Central Europe and I like European cinematography because it is offering something else, not just entertainment, but art, critique of society, and has a lot of "gravitas". But you seem to think that a happy ending would be suitable for this film? The happy end IS a Hollywood cliche, a cowboy who rides into the sunset after beating all bad and wicked... The whole film is good, and the ending is exactly as it should be, imagine if Billy was not killed...What would happen? That man who was in fact criminal would go free and Billy and his son would stay there maybe with that money and enlarge that farm? That makes more sense and that would be a better film? Well, I don't think so.
Fuck, Curry couldn't catch a break getting shot, lmao. Him getting shot in the leg made me burst out laughing
Started to feel like he deserved it considering the ending
He looks like Bill Burr too, that’s why he made you laugh (I think..)
as soon as he got shot in the leg i paused the video and skimmed for other people talking about it too haha
Was waiting a while to finally see this show. Saw it a couple of months ago and it was worth the wait.
Why I like this movie? Because, it explain that in real life is never like looks like. Officially, Billy the Kid died like many Western legends, with violent and painful death. But, this movie show us a real true. Billy the Kid, really, did not died, in 1881. He made the story of own false death and he continuing living next 25 years in Oklahoma, like a normal farmer and normal life. And that was perfect cover for surviving all these years and escaped from hand of the law. But, than comes year 1906 and law is again close to Billy the Kid, who is now in late 40s. Now, he got a farm, a kid and he lost own women too. But, wolf never change own character and when situation come Billy the Kid was again the same person and legend of Old West. Just 25 years older, but once more again Billy the Kid. PS: I like this Western, because it show us that not just Wyatt Earp was a survivor of that American era. So, you can count even on not predictable Billy the Kid. Really, that is excellent movie with great story and one of the best Western what I ever watched. Please, send your comments on my text if you got something to say more about that theme. And, if you got better preposition for even better Western than that masterpiece of American Westerns, please, let me know.
My grandfather was born in Oklahoma in 1901, I doubt if it was still that wild in 1906. (William Bonney would have been 47 had he lived until 1906.)
Some places are still like this.
I know much of north east and northern Texas was still open and undeveloped land up till around mid 90's. Places all over Mid US stayed rural for a lot longer them most realize.
Legitimately one of the best reveals I've ever seen. Casting perfection
@USLethal, I loved the reveal, too - but I think it was easy to spot the solution much earlier! Billy-The-Kid afficionados know that on of the Kid's names was Henry McCarty. And as soon as Old Henry starts to tell where he has spend his life before he became a humble farmer with a wife and a kid, it obvious that he must be the famous outlaw. I think the reveal could've been much more subtle! I pricked my ears as soon as I learned that Old Henry's last name was McCarty 😉 And there have been speculations for many decades if the Kid could have survived his confrontation with Pat Garrett. The movie "Young Guns 2" is built around that theory.
Remember when Stephen Dorf (great actor by the way) was the kid from The Gate? The 80's was a great decade!
Betrayal comes from a close person. Good movie.
This feels like a red dead redemption 1 story and I loved it
I immediately knew it was old Henry such a good movie would recommend
That was a decent film with some good twists.
so billy the kid actually is buster scrugg & stilwell is johnny ringo
This is basically Clint Eastwood's character William Munny from "Unforgiven"

He says the title in the first 5 seconds of every single video. Almost all of these recap channels do.
That scene gave Goosebumps when they knew he was Billy the kid
This is good movie but it’s very slow till the last 20 mins of the movie which makes it better
Excellent film. Really enjoyed it.
The name of the movie is Old Henry and it's awesome..
Jus realized this “oh brother where art thou”
That's Buster Scruggs!
Well, what do you know?! Bricktop got clean-up tips from old Henry! 7:35
"Old Henry" (2021) can be seen on Showtime or Amazon Prime ($3.99 to rent). And on CZcams you can buy, not rent, the flick for $9 to $10.
Excellent film. The writers had trouble writing a realistic story for the time period though. No kid growing up in that time period would NOT know how to fire a gun when hunting game and protecting your livestock were such crucial life skills. Food on the table in subsistence farming is the only thing that mattered in that time period.
We all know who he really is ! Buck shot George I reckon !! Just ask Billy 🤣
Good story with a low budget though.
One of the best westerns l have seen in a long long time what took so long
never knew asmon is such a badass o.o
Because the actors are what make the movie good
Great movie. Question: why isn't the title of the movie in the video description?
Movies like this always reminds me of RDR2
Old west stories always seem sad
This is a great film.Another chapter of William Boney.
The ending took me by surprise. Great film! I came to find out that Billy the Kid's given name was actually Henry!

@@williambigg6765 Old Henry. It's on Netflix
This is the kind of history my Oklahoma family had.
It’s much similar to the Tom Hanks, Paul Newman movie, but Hanks was a mob hitman, instead of Billy the Kid.
If the first rdr would be a movie this would be it
Great short piece I will definitely watch the movie. I am amazed it wasn't marketed more? Great lead actor and cast. 💪🏻

Why do some people think that talking over a movie clip is better than the real movie sound, if you think we can't figure out the movie from the words spoken in the movie , then your assuming we are stupid and yet your the one talking over a movie that has the actors voices in it.
That’s buster scrubs
