  • Quick video comparisons of the 2. I play mostly r&b and HIPHOP music so flr those guys undecided on what speaker to get. I feel your struggle!!! Both these bad boys are GREAT. Think it depends on the sound you want. Excuse the mess, dogs and kids man.. but the clarity on both is amazing. I think the 450 is just better at catching the lows and mids. You cant go wrong with either 1. Get one that fits your budget and works for you.

    Thanks for this. Both sound good - and I noticed the clarity of the QSC as you said it.
    I may well end up with the QSC K.2 (whichever of the three), as a sub can bring extra bass to the QSC's.
    I'm also going to audition other brands when I'm next in London.

    You got the Mackie on the floor and in the corner of the room, you'll gain 5-10+ DB bass that way corner loading versus the QSC which is more in the middle of the room and up on a table. Thats just how bass support is. Still the Mackie is awesome and the better speaker IMO.

    I had those Mackie for a couple years .. there are good speakers but they overheat if you work them for 2 or 3 hours most of the Mexican parties is for 5 to 6 hours. So I had to get rid of them. Now I use Qsc . I have never had no issues with them.

    hey man, did you have the QSC speaker on DANCE mode when you gave that review of the bass? Interested in this speaker!

      Honestly fam I can’t remember. But it handles the bass very well. You won’t be disappointed! The mackie couldn’t handle rap trap heavy bass music

    Good video 👍! bottom line qsc are better all around but pricey.... Mackies not as good but more affordable... Not all DJ's can dish out $800-$1k for 1 speak...but if you can do it...long haul qsc won't fail you, Mackies will...👍

  • @jeambeta
    @jeambeta Před 5 lety +8

    Mackies tends to over heat at high volume. Qsc last longer and has 6 years guarantee. Next time place the speakers at the same height. Speakers on the floor usually sound with more bass. Good look

    Did you have the K12.2s in Dance Mode or Default? I have the K12.2s and I'm disappointed in the low end bass they lacked. Especially compared to the orginal K12s.

    • @thecapothedon
      @thecapothedon  Před 6 lety +2

      Dream Chasers I can't recall the mode but I remember the base and a few things were adjusted. The Mackie were in defualt. You can fine tune the q's and get the sound quality you want. The vocals literally jump out on you with the clarity. No denying it. I would just use the Mackie as a monitor behind the booth when doing gigs. I actually ended up getting the Ev.. I LOVE THEM!! THEY PUSH ALLLLLLLLLLLL DAY.

    Poeple will always have something negative to say about the Mackie SRM450s. Sure the V2s had plenty of issues but the V3s are top notch. Been using them for years and never had an “overheating” issue. These days people just want to be seen looking cool with QSC gear. I’ll take my SRMs any day over Ks.

      Ryan J i hear you famo. Mackies are damn good for any house party or whatnot. Small venues stuff like that. To me personally. I like my EVs over both of them. There was a huge difference in clarity when the volume is turned up and the bass is hitting. I meant to do. Video showing that. But ya for anyone starting out. Mack are definitely good!

    I tried those mackies at a car show side by side with my EV'S and the mackies started sounding crappy after around 2 hours while my EV'S kept pushing clear. Also had my EV Ekx 18s as bottoms.

      Manuel Gutierrez I don't see me leaving evs. I bought 2 fifteens about 4 or 5 months ago. Absolutely love them. Longest I played them was about 5 hours straight. Different tempos and bass and vocals. No distortion, and I pushed them hard for some hours before I scaled back. . Can't beat them

      Daniel Moses I haven’t heard the Yamaha’s. If you’re just starting out the mackies aren’t bad at all. I ended up going with the Ev’s which to me blew the mackies out the water. All depends on what your budget and quality sound you’re looking for.

      from my experience the Yamaha's have a more punchy bass but the highs on them are a little muffled the 450s are good speakers and the bass is almost the same

      I have both speakers, you put that Mackie on a stand and you will see how big a piece or shit it is, no volume at all and absolutely no bass in the air. Which is why I purchased the first gen QSC K12s and the quality of sound in my DJ gigs changed drastically. You get what you pay for, I owned them both for many years and could not justify keeping the Mackies.
