  • We swap out dummy light for Glow Shift gauges into my 1978 C10 Chevrolet pickup. The factory gauge set up in my truck only came with fuel level and speedometer. After having the motor overheat due to the original fan clutch giving up the ghost and no working light to let us know, I decided now is better than later to swap out the gauge cluster. I like to know in real time what is going on with the engine in my vehicles. If you are looking for a budget friendly set up but don't want 1980s looking digital readouts or you don't want pods hanging under the dash, then this may be a good option. If you want to keep the old original parts without destroying anything, keep looking. This kit requires the use of the factory gauge cluster, and it will need to be modified beyond repair.

Summit sells the "HEI" connector by itself for less than $5 (as of today, lol).

I used the GlowShift speedometer sensor adapter. GS-A-SS-1 is the P/N.

Where did you pick up the fittings for the temp sensor and oil pressure sensor

The bushing I used for the coolant temp sensor I got from my local hardware store, and the 45 degree fitting for the oil pressure sender I snagged off Amazon.

What type of connectors did u use for the wiring harness?

I used weatherpak type connectors from Amazon. About 30 bucks for the kit. They work fine for the interior; not sure how weatherproof they really are though.

Where did you pull in the speed sensor in the transmission

Remove the cable from the side of the transmission and the sensor screws into where the cable was.

Where did you get the turn signal indicators and high beam?
