Gary Jesse I buy the leader material and attach it directly on. I use the uni to uni knot

I'm a bit confused....all the ice huts are set-up in 120 FOW, but you're fishing 50 FOW? Confused as to what kind of bottom structure/depth is supposed to be for Whiteys.

Ontario fisheries yes sometimes, but the ice slides right off of it.

Do you think a snap would work on a meegs instead of tying directly? Also, what about using a minnow instead of a tube?

You need to tie it directly to the meegs to allow the meegs to sit properly, a swivel will make the jig sit uneven and wont allow the nose to point down. You can use a small minnow or some guys just use the tail of the minnow
