Eric - The wires are a Piezo pickup that I have installed on the guitar in case I need a more acoustic sound.

Robby R Thanks for clearing that up a bit. I looked further and found that it is specifically from the Devanagari alphabet as opposed to the Tibetan which looks similar (at least to me..).
