Mizuno makes the best chest protectors for sure. The padding is light weight yet extremely effective. And The chest protector doesn’t pop up on your neck when you go down to block.
I really like the mizuno samurai gear, the chest really gives a lot of protection when blocking and the shin guards don’t feels as heavy as some other ones, paired with a 34 inch 44 pro glove

I have a set of Rawlings gear with a traditional and hockey style mask and a force3pro gear I use the most with a traditional mask then for mitts I have a mizuno and a Rawlings heart of the hide
im a catcher for a travel team 14u and i personally use mizuno samurai in the navy blue and red color. i also use a Wilson A360 mitt as its great for the price and i dont feel like dropping 300 on a mitt
System 7 chest but son uses his older bro that graduated Rawlings "proline" shingaurds...said they are lil more narrow (he slender legs) and feel better than the wider Allstars for now! He freshman on Varsity and got the new Allstar gaurds put up and get into them in year or so! Also has bro colorsync 2.0 HOH (that wasn't even broke in good) but debating on new custom school color HOH or the black Allstar mitt to use once he does go to the Allstar shingaurds! Also has his old R9 32inch in bag for the sidearm nuckleballer he has to catch...yes most use bigger mitt when they have to but his R9 so small and soft he super quick with it to follow the late breakers and its soft leather to absord and not bouce out!
Currently with the Rawlings Renegade set, Rawlings Gamer XLE glove. If money were no object, I would be with the Mizuno Samuari gear, and a Patriot Japanese style Glove.
I recommend for fast pitch Jen shro the very best all though the gear is really hard to get it's 400$ it's right for the price point with the amount of tech in it

Damn 2.10 at 13 is crazy, im 16 and am only sitting around 2.2-2.4
@@RemmomZ I am not at 2.10 consistently, generally around 2.15 - 2.20 if I am practicing. I hit 2.10 at a showcase

Tried a few but for my daughter, the Easton softball specific stuff really made a huge difference with the way they are cut for women.

What’s your best advice for becoming a catcher? I just recently got interested in baseball, and i love the position of catcher.
For your stance you want to be as comfortable as possible also make sure hand behind back an have an upright stance with runnners the the bases
