  • SketchUp Topography Solved in Just 2 Minutes
    Frustrated with topography lines appearing when you import CAD drawings into SketchUp? This simple 2-minute tutorial will show you how to eliminate these annoying lines and get your SketchUp model looking its best!
    To resolve elevation mismatch issues, you can try the following solutions:
    Flatten the geometry in the CAD source file: Before importing the CAD file into SketchUp, flatten all geometry to a single elevation plane using the appropriate tools in your CAD software.
    Adjust the Z-scale during import: When importing the CAD file, use the "Import Options" dialog to adjust the Z-scale. This allows you to manually convert the elevation values from the CAD system to SketchUp's system.
    Create a ground plane in SketchUp: If the CAD file lacks a clear ground plane, create one in SketchUp by drawing a large rectangle on the ground and setting its Z-value to zero. This will provide a reference point for aligning imported geometry.
    Use the "Move" tool to adjust elevation: If only a few objects or lines are affected, you can use the "Move" tool in SketchUp to manually adjust their Z-values.
    Employ extensions or plugins: Several extensions or plugins are available for SketchUp that can help automate the process of flattening or adjusting the elevation of imported geometry.
    By following these strategies, you can effectively address elevation mismatch issues and ensure that your imported CAD drawings align correctly in SketchUp
    Importing CAD drawings into SketchUp is a common practice for 3D modeling projects, but it can sometimes lead to elevation mismatches, causing lines or other objects to appear floating above or below the intended ground plane. This issue, known as "Z-axis offset" or "elevation mismatch," can be frustrating and can disrupt the accuracy and visual appeal of your SketchUp model.
    In this comprehensive guide, you'll learn how to effectively flatten CAD drawings in SketchUp, ensuring that your imported geometry lies on a single elevation plane and aligns seamlessly with your model. Whether you're a seasoned SketchUp user or a beginner, this tutorial will empower you to tackle elevation mismatch issues with confidence.

    what we can do if line are vertical

    • @ArchitectVirendraChhatria
      @ArchitectVirendraChhatria  Před 4 měsíci

      If the lines are vertical, then their value along the axis would be zero. Alternatively, you can also rotate them in SketchUp. I can guide you better by looking at the exact image.
