Need for Speed is a 2015 online racing video game developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2015, while a Windows version released in March 2016.

Car is starting to drift when you push trigger in full, you can adjust amount of power if you need to take back control of your car, especially on high speeds.
When you drift hard you just need to step off the gas, or adjust the power with your analog trigger or pedal. You can aslo apply power portionally to control drift exactly how you need by tapping the gas

It's complicated but you can actually play offline, it's exclusive to console players because the only way to play online for most games is to have an online subscription. If you try to play NFS 2015 without PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, the game will put you in a solo offline lobby when you enter the Need for Speed Network menu and try to enter a lobby. It's complicated. But it's very possible. I don't know about PC players though.

If they're really gonna pull the plug on the NFS 2015 servers, then I'll miss Ventura Bay.
I hope this will serve as a stern reminder for every damned videogame publisher and developer to not make their games "always-online" and expendable after a ten-year run.
