Firstly let me say I am not a fan of Aslan nor have I ever been. As a music lover and Dubliner I respected them and Christy for coming through the difficulties they have over the years. And also for the joy they brought to many many people over there career's but I cannot believe not 1 member of U2 made the effort to go to the funeral of Christy. I dont know what the others were doing but Bono's other engagement was a book signing with his friend Tom Hanks whos friendship is obviously more important to him than showing a bit of respect for Christy a fellow artist and Irishman. No less his family and fellow band mates. I'm not one of the people who trolls U2 at every opportunity in fact I rarely make comments about anyone and again I respect them and there success but I really do feel were this any other member of the Irish music or artistic fraternity who had died they would be there and making their presence known. Shame on you U2 I think many would expect better
Last saw them cork opera house, encore was hey Jude. My sons name needless to say it was very special moment. Fly high Christy pure raw magic .from a Scottish man he was one of Ireland's greats. Happy times listening

I left Ireland in 1988 the same year he appeared on night hawks unashamed wearing his cross, when too many Irish are losing there identity,Christy never lost his language and trad voice.A true Irish Patriot and gentle soul.The blessed virgin will take him in her arms on his return home.
