The M3 MacBook Pro starts out at $300 more than the previous model. It DOES address some of the concerns I had - but there’s something about the battery life that I don’t quite understand - so let’s talk about what Apple did here and whether the newer model is actually worth getting.

Only issue consumers have with these books is Apple's poor pricing strategy. That in 2023 Apple sell a computer with 8GB for $1599 and upgrading to 16GB is $200... that is madness not business.

Thanks for making this video. I got the M2 MBP 13" 24Gb RAM/1TB SSD for $1299.99 from BestBuy bc I wanted the newest and last model with the touchbar but the differences keep irking me such as the way better screen and speakers. I have another couple weeks left for return window. Thinking hard about returning the 13" for the 14" M3 Pro model bc the difference is only a few hundred more but you get sooo much more. I'm not sure if the touchbar is worth all the differences compared to the 14". I used a M1 14" when they first came out and the features like 120HZ miniLED screen, multi speaker sound and design were so much better. You could notice the bass from subwoofers and much clearer sound on the 14' models. The 13" doesn't even have HDR either! Big picture quality hit. I use it to watch TV with at night instead of huge room TV, so as much as I love the touchbar, and even tho I got it at a smokin' sale price of $1299 new on sale, I think I might return and go w the 14" M3 Pro 18GB RAM/512GB SSD on sale now for 1750 or they have open box in EX condition for around 1600.

Great video. The display is very important to me. It’s a debate between the pro and air. The Air is lighter, but I probably would prefer the Pro. It’s too bad there’s not a 15 inch Pro. So I’m kinda torn between the 15 in Air and 16in Pro. Thoughts? Is the 16 inch pro too big? Thx again. Great content!

Thanks for the video, I always look forward to them. I know from experience that 8GB is enough for casual users, and I think it's a shame that Apple charges $200 for the upgrade, but MacBooks last so long that I think upgrading the M3 MBP 14 to 16GB of memory will show a good ROI over time.

I wish I watched this review before I bought the new MacBook Pro 14. I did have to pay that extra 200 for more GB but my last MBP lasted exactly 10 years. Still works for basic things but uber slow. The MacBook Pro 14 is definitely heavier than I anticipated BUT I prefer the MagSafe charging port and the screen clarity. Here’s to another decade with this one- hopefully.

I want to upgrade my base line 2019 MBP and i am really conflicted between the m2 15 air which starts at 1450$ here or the m3 pro MBP which cost 2550$ after tax, or even wait for the m3 air.
My current use is for uni but I’m graduating very soon and i don’t know shall I future proof myself and not make the mistake with my current MacBook or I won’t be needing that much performance. Also the absence of a fan is worrying me for a bit. Apple really did us no good with the m3 pricing structure 😵‍💫.

What if the difference between prices is $400? I can get an M2 13" MacBook Pro 8/256 for around $800 and the M3 14" MacBook Pro 8/512 for $1200. I know that for my use cases, 8GB RAM of both models won't cut it. Maybe doable for now, but definitely not after 2 years. Thus, I will have given either of these laptops to my dad and bought a new Max series laptop. Though, I can also get the M3 Pro MBP 18/512 for $1700. If I were to spend that much, I want to use it for at least 5 years. My requirements will include doing college AI coursework, proper video editing for channels with over 300k subs, and working as an intern for companies.
Should I go with the base M2/M3 chips and give it to my dad after two years (for Day Trading mostly), or should I stretch for an M3 Pro and keep it for longer? Will it be capable enough? I think that tech would change, and it is nicer to get a newer laptop than to stick to yesterday's tech for longer. What do you think?
