Hello my friend, my name is Newton, today I am 80 years old, years ago I worked with big machines and super heavy trucks like yours. But when I saw your video working with care and responsibility, nostalgia hit my heart, so in view of all your dedicated work, I just have to thank you for the gift of your video and the memories of my past. 😊😊 👏👏👏
Thank you very much for your comment and kind words Newton! It’s true I take pride in my work. I’m sure this work is very different than when you did it years ago. Rules & regulations mixed with new technology, it was probably a lot more interesting in your days!
The forklift operator has some skills.
😊 Banjos, western guitars, and semi's are made for each other 😊
Forklift operator has obviously been around the block a few times. Super efficient.
Nice amount of help on stacking the trailer on that last delivery.
Yes the riggers at the delivery were very helpful.
Thanks for taking us along with you. The guys at the machinery drop off were a lot bigger help for you than where you loaded up at. The machinery drop off didnt even have cranes to remove the tarps and they folded them for you. That is a great help for you. Keep the videos coming if you can I enjoy watching your expertice in handling you truck. Big diffefence from auto to a manual isnt it? Have a great day.
Yes I get to work with all kinds of people. Working with the less helpful clients just makes you appreciate that much more when you do get help.
The biggest difference between the auto and the manual is in the drivers head. I’ll get used to it.
Thanks for following along ✌️
At the ending, nice to have a team of workers ready to help a driver out. That is pretty cool.
Yes I really appreciate help when I get it!
You picked up and drove within 2 blocks blocs of my house in Wood Dale, IL when you turned on IL 19. Great job.
Small world!!! ✌️
I'm always amazed at the number of residential and small town streets you end up driving.
Yeah everyone thinks we are lost. We don’t want to be there any more than the general public wants us to be there!
Doug you are a true professional truck driver. North America needs more of your caliber out on the highways. Stay safe, keep up the great work.
Not sure about being better than anyone but I try anyways. I take pride in my work is I guess how I would put it! Thanks 😊
Man, I am addicted to your cameras…. Every single videos👌
Thanks for the feedback 😊✌️
These hauls must be astronomically expensive with the permits, escorts, and price of diesel etc... I've only moved my mini excavator twice and balked at the haul bill.
That’s why these machine cost millions… partly due to transport fees 🤣✌️
Can't believe the route through all those residential areas. That was insane.
Yup… upsetting the general public is what I do best 🤣
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 LOL. Gotta love the Govt's idea of a "heavy-haul thoroughfare".
How did your rear beacon get damaged?
Just the vibration of the trailer going down the road. Honestly I go though 2 or 3 per month. They are mounted on that rear flip axle which is attached to the trailer by pins so it gets a lot of vibration.
Thanks for the ride along Doug. You picked up then hauled right past my home in Cambridge. You’re extremely good at this !!
Small world!! ✌️
Love these long videos
Glad to hear it! I’ll keep trying to put them out! ✌️
There’s a couple of municipalities in Easter Pa that even if your permitted by the state, they will still stop you and issue fines! Their excuse Is, even though the state permitted the load, you still have to get approval from the township!! So, watch if you ever get to Go through Exton, from the Pa. Turnpike.
Yes actually there are many states and provinces that require county permits.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
Double dipping!
Must be hard to not shift! As always, a true professional!
Thank you 😊
There are places where you are required to have State, County and City permits.
Nice crew helping you unload. A little surprised they used the "little" forklift to load the jeep - it worked.
They were a good crew. The majority of the crews we work with are pretty good. I guess that’s why it stands out when we see a lazy crew. Gotta have bad ones once in a while to better appreciate the good ones.
Keep on Truckin Doug,
jai oublier de dire ma femme te fais dire de laver ton windshield hahah a sa la rends folle de voir ca sale
Hahaha noté
Nice work kid on doing great work and transporting was my pleasure to look at you work 😊
Happy to have you along 😊✌️
I’m an certified escort in New York. I can’t believe how some permits pass for an oversized load. I saw on your Baltimore to Quebec video the route around exit 42-40. I’ve done that many of times. I’m glad I found your channel
Happy to have you along. You never know, our paths might cross one day ✌️
I know it's your skill and experience that makes the driving part look so easy, but boy, the loading and unloading parts look like way too much work. I do find it interesting to see all of what it takes to get a load from Point A to Point B. Thanks for sharing and with your great editing.
It is a lot of work but honestly that’s what I enjoy most about this job. That at the end of the day you have the satisfaction that f getting the job done!
As always thanks for following ✌️
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Yep, job satisfaction is the most important thing. There's nothing better than the feeling that you have accomplished something worthwhile. Take care and stay safe.
Have always loved Peterbilts and Cummins power, but don’t care for the automatic trans, they seem to keep the rpm higher than what I like to run my engine at, I find that 18 spd double over and about a 4.30 axle ratio with 565 H.P. 2050 ft lb of torque with 24.5 rubber is a nice spec for hauling heavy loads. Thanks for the ride along. Cheers my friend
I agree with you but I’m not the one paying for it so…
So I'm guessing this means you prefer the Western Star then......?
This truck will get the job done but I’m not ready to say it’s better than the Wester Star was.
Seems like the guy helping load that big girl knew what he was doing as well!
Yeah those guys at Caterpillar are pretty good. That’s all they do every day
Hello Lucky Man. Greetings from Switzerland
I appreciate watching all the prep and unfolding of the trailer as well as all the rigging that goes with each load. It shows others that might not know what actually happens. I mean, it's part of the job so why not show it? It definitely makes for a more interesting video than just a ride-a-long.
I enjoyed it very much compared to other trucking channels that only show a very brief ultra fast time-lapse of their transport. Great camera angles help too!
You've earned my sub after watching a few other videos, but definitely from this one and the longer extended version, because of the explanation and showing what you're rigging up while you're doing it. Also, hearing the truck run rather than the music all the time would be a nice addition, even with the wind lol!
Thanks for your feedback. I’m trying to put out content that appeals to everyone but everyone likes something a little different. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊✌️
I like the music it’s good toe tapping not like the crap FSC plays but I like the rest of his show
@carldrexler7883 I try to add music that caters to the generation of the majority of my viewers 😉
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 I Like It 👍😁🤗😉
Cool to see you roll by my house along I696 there in Detroit! I see MDOT gave you the good old M1 (Woodward Ave.) routing. They love giving that to me all the time lol. Safe journeys.
I spent all Memorial Day weekend parked in Fowlerville. I feel like I know the area well now! 🤪
Loved the video! Thanks for sharing just a glimpse into your life. 😉👍🏻🎥💯
Thanks for the ride along good driving skills keep on trucking 🤙🏽🤙🏽 Dave in Kona HI
I think you are the first comment I get from HI, happy to have you along ✌️
thank you sharing video of your transport over there
from Australia
Always love hearing how far these videos reach. Aus is pretty darn far!!! ✌️
Nice to see a guy that actually deserves the title "DRIVER" especially now that there SO many that don't ! Hard work done well. Very well done !
I’ll never say I’m better than the next guy but I do take pride in my work and I think that makes a difference.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 ....I've commented a few times before, Doug: don't sell yourself short.
That said, I would love five of your quality drivers, in exchange for 60% of the current drivers in our fleet, and we likely would produce 100% more. That's my compliment to you for today 👍
@andrep8287 😇😇😇
scenery gorgous ty 4 the ride along have a great day
I can’t believe they routed down those cow paths with that super load. You do good work, now if we could get you to do a little more of it! lol just kidding, you worked your ass off, especially tarping.
Appreciate it! This is our busiest time of year. Believe me I’m happy to have a e-log or they would be running us around the clock!
another great video, thanks!
just after you crossed the st clair river at port huron/sarnia, is the overpasss i told you about that was destroyed a couple of years ago by an oversized load. it's the second overpass after you clear customs and get onto the hwy 402, funny thing is that he cleared the first one!
I’m glad they seem to have built the new overpass a little higher 😅
Hey Doug !!!!! How many times have you hit the floor looking for the clutch & Gear shift !!!! HAHA 🙂🙃😉😛👍👍👍👍👍
Ha everytime I go to kick the cruise off 🤷🏼♂️
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Oh Boy ,,, What ""FUN"" to have a ""NEW "" Rig !!! 😆😀
@KB-gs8zi....true, but it works the other way too....when you've driven far too many auto or computer-controlled manuals, then hop (figuratively speaking, for me at least) back into a unit with a manual tranny, and upon pulling out of the driveway onto the highway, you say to yourself "damn, why is this truck revving so high"....until you realize, "heck, maybe I better upshift" 🤣😂😅
nice video young man nice job , my back is ruined because of all the tarping i did in mylifetime usually without any help.
People don’t realize how heavy tarps are…
Love your channel. It’s very informative to watch. I have 31 years of experience- mostly flatbed and step decks. I have done some oversized, but nothing like what you are doing! I have learned a lot by watching your various set up’s and what you are hauling. I noticed that your trucks are automatics. I was wondering what type and gearing they are and if you run an auxiliary transmission in top of it. Keep up the great work!
Yes this truck has an Allison automatic. No auxiliary. It does the job but it is not my favorite truck I have driven

New truck - looks shiny 😊
Thanks. Unfortunately they don’t stay new for long!
Sure is nice to have a little help from the costumer that’s a lot of work for a 1 man band
Oh yeah, I appreciate help when I get it!
Great video first time watcher here from NJ you are definitely a professional driver and know your business God Bless and be safe driver you have a lot of weight on your back
Happy to have you along ✌️
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Glad to be along it’s a treat to watch a professional do his thing I drive but much lighter tri and tandem dumps packer and mixer trucks be safe brother
It is amazing what you are doing man. I used to drive lowboy and didn't enjoy it at all and my trailer was only 60T. I get nervous going new places I don't know.
That’s the neat thing about transport. There are so many kinds of transport there is something for everyone. Personally I love the challenge. When I’m told a project isn’t going to be easy, that’s when I start getting up excited!
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 It makes all the difference when you like what you are doing. Respect!
It looks like the two gus only operate the lifting controls, must have been to Australia in the 80s, not my job, so can't help 😅😅
There’s a few in every crowd!
I was never a big Peterbilt fan but give me a Ford Louisville and I’m a happy camper!
Haha I think you are age dating yourself!! 🤣✌️
@robpeters....agree, except if you have to use this tractor as an instructor for practical greenhorn driver-training (through a school) or for pre-employment road-tests of allegedly license drivers, because the yellow & red maxis are located on the dash, to the left of the steering wheel !
your music on your videos is the best.
Thank you!
I seen a couple of your company’s trucks down here in Georgia.
Yes I was down there myself a few weeks ago. We are supplying equipment to refit a lot of the big paper mills.
Thanks for the video !
well done dougles
awesome work
beau peter bill👌
Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
good job,stay safe.
Excellent job 👍 How are you finding the new truck, it looks pretty smart 👌 For us over here in the UK, perhaps you could explain during the videos when or, not, you are required to have an escort. Keep on trucking.
Ok I’ll try to work in a segment about the escorts. Thanks for the suggestion ✌️
How do you like the automatic transmission on heavy haul. Great video thanks for taking us along.
Have a great day!
I’ll start by saying I’m not a fan of automatics just because I’m proud to say I can shift a truck and pull 200,000 lbs up a steep grade without missing. That being said so far this transmission is doing its job although I haven’t had the truck long enough to test it in all conditions.
That’s lots of work compared to regular flatbed, bunch of tarps and tricky tarping, I am wondering how much it pays 🧐
We are paid based on the equipment we are using. The pay starts at $28 and goes up to $45. The more complex the equipment and load, the more it pays!
forklift guy was good
👍👍👍 👌
You’ve got to be kidding right turn down a no trk rt
AND a residential street!,
Customers don’t always set up in practical areas!

What are the specs on the new pete is it an allison automatic or eaton ? When i first saw the truck thought it was a 990 then quickly new it was pete!
Nice truck! Tell us a little more about it. How is it spec’ed out?
If the machinery pick up is union shop they get in trouble for helping. With the load on your rig being your liability there are some drivers that get po if you try to help.
just a couple of reasons they might now have stepped up.
2 dumb questions: how did you come up with the name lucky banana and what are the letters and numbers in the title vin#?
No dumb questions
So I’m a big time amateur fisherman and anyone who’s been around superstitious fisherman will tell you they never catch fish if there’s a banana in the boat so “Lucky Banana”
The codes in the description are required by the site I use for non copyright music. If I don’t mention those codes youtube will red flag the video for copyright.
When you're driving and the video is not sped up, I would rather hear the exhaust. Too much music for my taste. Other than that, great footage.
Next time you are in Decatur, I'd buy you lunch if we can figure out how to call or email. Ye Ole Caterpillar Cowboy
Decatur is your home town? That’s neat. Small world. I wouldn’t say I’m there a lot but 5-6 times per year.
I noticed when you were leaving out of the loading site, the wheels of the front loader hit the ground. Is that normally not a big deal, even if it happens while on the roads at higher speeds? Great videos, I put it on while at work for some background entertainment.
Dragging the wheels is not recommended at higher speeds. It’s fine if you’re going slowly and being gentle. In this case there is a high center crown in the road when leaving the customer but I know it’s only going to touch lightly so that’s fine. If I come to a bigger obstacle like a set of raised train tracks I will get out and physically lift the trailer higher to avoid damage. Unfortunately we need to run them low to the ground because we are maxed out for the height on the overpasses.
Appreciate you taking out the time to explain.
Quick question - how much do those blocks of wood weight that are used to support the machines?
I’ve never weighed exactly the big 10x12’s but I would guess 200+lbs. If I grab them in a bear hug like a human being I can lift them but usually I just lift one end at a time and flip them. The big tarps weigh about the same.
How do they ship the bucks. I like your new truck
They sometimes remove the buckets and put them on a flatbed depending on where the loader is going. The bucket alone weighs 10,000 lbs and requires a bigger trailer just to carry the extra weight. Depending on the state the bigger trailers sometimes require police escorts and the cost is cheaper to just send the bucket on a separate truck.
Really thanks for the help guys
Hey Doug is that auto gear box a Allison 4700 RDS or the TX 18 paccar I know there putting these in the peterbilts it sounds like a Paccar engine
It’s a Cummins X15 with an Allison
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Ok 👍 good combo I know you would rather have a 18 spd thought I know I would
That 579 Pete has some get up and go pulling that 988 that loader has to be 55-60 tons easily how many times did you reach for the stick or went to push in the clutch 😂
Every time I try to kick the cruise off 🤣

Any info on the new truck ?
How's the automatic working out, pretty good?
So far it’s doing the job but I havn’t been able to rest it under all conditions yet
The south traffic at the border, is it always backed up like that ?
The south truck traffic at Sarnia / Port Huron is unreal. Hopefully the new bridge in Detroit will take some of the pressure off when it is completed.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 ....but sometimes, when you just hit it right, it's free-flow across the bridge towards Port Huron, but then the CBP simply makes-up for the quick crossing, by sending everyone through the VACSIS (X-Ray) machine. You just can't win for loosing ;-(
What cameras you use on your mirrors
GoPro and Insta360
Just wondering why there were No Escort trucks with you on this load?
Every state and province has different escort requirements. With this trailer configuration and these types of loads places like Ontario and Illinois do not require an escort however an escort was required in Michigan and Indiana. When the video was being filmed from behind obviously the camera was mounted on an escort. Unfortunately there is a lot of competition in this business and there is no budget to hire escorts which are not required by law.
The real deal
I saw your video I'm company driver pulling flatbed for 2 yrs. What's the name of the company i want to further my career and get into heavy haul. Do they have all manuals or auto to. I prefer manual. Thinking about keen transport. In pa
We are based in Montreal so unless you’re from Canada this probably won’t work for you
Very good music, would you mind putting the name of it ?
how strong is wood anyway?
Activen los sudtitulos
what are you doing on a residential road anyway?
Not sure if this is asked a lot. Why not a tridem drive for all the heavy haul you do?
Maybe some states don’t allow it just saying
Personally I am not a fan of these pin on axles. But this company loves the flexibility of having a tandem or tridem drive. You can see the truck with the extra axle in some of my other videos.
i'm guessing that with the jeep carrying at least half of the trailer pin weight, a tri axle drive would be unneeded and a high cost both initially and running cost
Quebec loves to be different. It is very hard to get a 4x4 permit even though that is the standard heavy haul setup in most of North America.
Do you get time off 😮 🎉
I am greedy
I'm curious no pilotcars?
These loads had pilot cars for some portions of the trip only. The requirements for pilot cars varies from state to state and province to province. Where the camera is following the load obviously there was a pilot car involved! Lol
A 2 for 1 :)
why did you have to use the side roads for
Mostly overpass height restrictions and construction zone width restrictions. We use side roads more often than people think.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Out here in AB, I see oversized loads more on the secondary highways (not transcanada or hwy 2 between Calgary/Edmonton) during the day, as they are way too busy. Recently got pics of a 185ft wind turbine blade taking up the whole road for a turn, and with 2 pilots.
I see some really big stuff being moved out in Alberta. Stuff we only dream of moving back in the east. Everything here needs to be torn down into pieces for transport.
Is this your company or do you work for somebody
I am just a company driver
What was the gray machine you hauled in your second load in the video?
It was a die cast press
Glad I'm not in your shoes, especially on that pickup. If they'd stood around like that I would've pulled out just enough to detach, hookup my jeep n back up to the load. I'm sorry the Americans are so rude to you.
Don’t worry Canadians are just as bad. Water off a ducks back!
@nealfry4507....this machine pickup actually took place in CANADA (Cambridge/ON)....on the other hand, it's in the US where Doug delivered that machine, when the workers were so super helpful.
What’s the power difference between the new truck and the old truck. I hear the fan clutch come on a lot. And automateds are for sissys
Same power X15 565. I havn’t had the chance to run beside any of our other trucks to see who out pulls who yet. This truck seems to run a little hotter. The fan does kick in more often. But I haven’t had it long enough to really learn it yet.
By the way I don’t think you’re a sissy all these companies are going auto one of the reasons I retired but what the heck Im 75 been married 55 years time to stay home 🏡 with mom 👩
