There is serious tuning and tech involved which is why they made the class. Its easy to go fast on huge slicks with big power. Driveshaft rpms talk to the rear tire speed..shit like that, timing getting pulled so the car doesnt flip over.

The driver is extremely skilled looking at his R/T and 60', and the team who built this car did an amazing job. The car doesn't seem to have any issues, it just hooks and keeps moving. Damn impressive.
Would love to see a built 4.6 you don’t see many mainly because there hard motors to build but they are capable of power.

Someone make sure I got this right. 0-209mph in 660 feet of track? That's like 2 city blocks. On the second pass he says he beat him off the tree then never saw him, but yet loses, how do you not see a car beating you? Either way these cars are too fast for such a short race, I'm a huge fan of the amazing engineering these guys build and the physics they overcome, at least in a 1/4 mile you get a couple more seconds to enjoy em. Either way amazing machine.
Woah, I'm confused. Is E.T. the elapsed time from when you as the driver leave stage or the elapsed time from green to crossing finish line? Cause I always thought low E.T. won races. I mean that's usually how it works out but if E.T. is from reaction time on then I guess in few and rare cases a lower E/T would lose. I thought if I were watching NHRA on tv the winner of the race was determined by lowest E.T.

Sir Wheelz No, the timer for the lane doesn't start till they roll forward and break the beam that starts the timer.
So they race starts when the tree turns green, if car A leaves right when it turns green and runs a 10.5 but car B was sleeping on the light and left .7 seconds late but ran a 10.0, car A would cross the finish first but have a slower time and would be considered the winner.
Edit- Hope that makes sense, not the best at putting things into words.

That mustang should be hitting close to 260mph in the 1/4. It's definitely making the power that's for sure.
not sure the motor would stay together after a few full 1/4 mile passes at 70psi haha.
Will trap 260+ on slicks for sure at 70psi on 570ci with pt 102s. Crazy thing is he said he didnt max out those turbos at this power level
The 60ft needs to be improved, with that trap speed it should be much quicker.

Then I noticed the speed did not match and once I replayed, I noticed how short and stupid that run is. In my opinion it is like a fraction of a real drag, it is short , it doesn't look serious, it is like you make all that powerful cars for something half-way, half-done. I cannot explain it, seems very stupid to me.

had a cammed LS2 goat a few years ago that would hit 60 in 4 seconds and I thought that was fast lol
the difference between forces at 200mph and 250mph is huge also. I doubt this Mustang could stay in it all the way down a 1/4 mile track without the aero flying off or the car becoming airborn. This thing makes probably over 2,500hp and would require huge nuts to floor for even 4 seconds.
Pretty soon they'll be down to a 1/16th.
i don't like it either, but 200+mph is pretty impressive.
