    ℹ️ About the Episode:
In this episode, we stay overnight at a Harvest Hosts-a church at Port Ludlow-before taking the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds. The ferry was $122 with our truck and trailer (55 feet long combined) and saved us from having to drive Interstate 5 through Seattle. Plus, taking ferries on an RV trip is fun! We've done several, and this episode contains some bonus footage of those trips. Then we make our way to North Cascades National Park. We would have loved to stay at Newhalem Campground, which by the way has full bars LTE cell service (at least with Verizon)-but after nearly a month of dry camping since Red Fish, Idaho, we really needed to catch up on laundry and treat ourselves to a long hot shower! It rained while we were in the North Cascades, which prevented us from hiking. That was a bummer, because hiking might just be the single reason people go there, besides the scenic drive on Highway 20. We didn't do nearly as much as we would have liked, but we did have a great time. Sometimes, it's important to remember that having a great time together is better than doing as much as possible. And doing as much as possible might take away from having a great time!

10:30 You guys should check out Ellie in Space's video, "Starlink helping during disaster... and race cars." A guy developed a flat mount for Starlink dishes. His company is called, Star Mount Systems. You could have a flat mount Starlink dish on your roof so you never have to worry about set up or tearing down.

I work for the ferries and if you you look at the 4:37 mark of your video you'll see how the ticket seller estimated your rig length. There are measuring lines painted on the ground so they can easily judge your vehicle length.

As a life long (65 years) Seattleite I smile at the great experience you had on our ferries. Now, the folks who daily commute back and forth from the islands to the city probably have some stories to tell, but your experience seems pretty normal to me.
BTW Lake Chelan is pronounced "shell-ANN"
Caleb Rudolf is a caribou, not a common deer. Speaking of deer, Winthrop is known as the capitol of deer running into cars- they're everywhere like rats.

Hope you get a chance to take the boat Lady of the Lake from Chelan to Stehekin. Great day hikes from there.
Years ago, a bus full of school kids went off the edge of Lake Chelan, which is 1,500 feet deep in some places.
Lake Chelan State Park and 25-Mile Creek are wonderful places to camp, particularly off-season.

I so look forward to your videos every Sunday!! I live vicariously through your travels. We took our 5th wheel on the Alaska Ferry system when we moved to Alaska from Nevada for hubby's job back in 2005. Boarded the ferry in Bellingham WA to Juneau, then had to hotel it one night in Juneau, then caught another ferry from Juneau to Whittier the next morning. A total of 6 days on the ferry...and it was in the month of March! When his job ended in 2012, I told him I would only move back to the lower 48 on the ferry. SUCH AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Many great memories! The entire ferry from Juneau to Whittier was full of Coast Guard people and their families moving up to AK for their new deployment. Met lots of wonderful people on that ferry. Many thanks for the memories of getting on the ferry. P.S....we also took the Badger ferry from WI to MI, on our way to the UP. I remember feeling a bit "green" that morning, as Lake Michigan was a bit rough!

Washington State Ferries are the best! If you have a chance to stay longer in Winthrop, it’s a great place to go white water rafting too! In early summer, we would often do the loop from Seattle - up through North Cascades, stop in Wenatchee to get cherries and then back to Seattle on I-90! Lots of great day trips in the Cascades!!

I bought “tire thumpers” for my daughter and I to carry in our vehicles. They are awesome weapons and since it isn’t called a weapon we can use it to beat the heck out of someone without being accused of being pre meditated! My daughter had an incident at a gas station once and she used the passenger door of the perps car to beat the heck out of the idiot! I like your uses as well. I used a walking stick to push on my brake to start my car from the back when it got really cold sleeping in the back.

I thought of you all being new Floridians. Strange since I've never met you. Although, I feel like I've gotten to know you through the vlog. I am living vicariously through you. My aspirations we're to travel the US since during my Air Force day's I have seen much of Europe, Asia and a few other places less desirable. 😉 But my health took a drastic turn and a divorce put the cherry on top. I find myself with my "nest empty" and struggling to find my next purpose in life. Until then I am living vicariously through you. There are times you take my breath away, laughing and even shed a tear or two (graduations etc)... But most importantly looking forward to a new adventure every week. Safe travels!

that was an absolutely amazing video. Great times, great scenery, and also the reality of RV travel. Not every moment is perfect, and you do need to step back on occasion to reflect. We just spent a few days on the Outer Banks of NC. Amazing spot. Ocracoke is wonderful and honestly one of the nicest friendliest spots we have ever camped, and yet one morning I found myself getting cross over sand on the trailer floor. Well hello? Day 6 on a sand dune and I am cross about sand on the floor? But then with the sunshine and the wonderful company of your travelling companion(s) and everything settles back into "wow this is some fun" mode, and all is good again. :) Anxious to hear how you feel about the new tires now that you have a few miles on them. thanks again for the superb videos... Loved this episode, we have made that exact same trip 2 twice just going the other way because we are coming from Florida, Winthrop is one of our favorite mid-summer spots, the cycling on the north side of town is phenomenal, and there is a nice RV park there and in July they have a amazing Jazz Festival. Ross lake has a beautiful floating lodge on it that is only accessible by boat after a hike into the shore line

So good to finally see y'all exploring our neck of the woods!! We've been watching you for years, and you gave us the courage to try RVing...finally received our Imagine in Dec. 2020...changed our lives in the best possible way. Thank you. Hope you enjoyed Washington!

I wish I had seen this video before I went on my hwy 101 trip last month. I would have love to do that hike!

Oh my goodness, we missed you by about a week up in Winthrop! It is one of our favorite camping spots and the North Cascades Hwy never disappoints. Glad you enjoyed our “neck of the woods”. Next time you are up that way check out Big Twin Lakes RV Park. Close to everything but still a little out of the way. Love you guys! Blessings

The cascades loop was one of our favorite RVing vacations, we did it multiple summers while we had our trailer. Silverwood Theme park was a hit with our kids, nieces and nephews. Hope you get to stop and see it.
