Wow found this CD in a local neighborhood library book donation box on my daily lunch hour walk and was blown away when i played it. Great album. Great talented musicians. So glad I grabbed it. Amazing work.
I'm hearing the guitar, the bass and the drums. I'm also hearing some tones that feel like they must be overdubs, but this is live. Its all very confusing. But absolutely wonderful. I can feel the warmth of the late afternoon sun and can hear the buzz of the insects in the background. I want to sit there in the grass with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and just listen.
In my case I would say that my Math problems were multiplied by at least 10... as now I want to play that so badly and so far away from my guitar skills 😂😒😟😭
@@dektrimusic You´ll improve hearing this young "monsters". Practice makes perfect. Playing so many good songs from others does not count like cheating in your exam.
I don't know where the 'Math' term comes from. To me it is 'prog', and good prog at that. I can only guess that perhaps the term comes from having various time changes and signatures. And yes, there is often a relation between jazz rock (fusion) and prog too.
It’s not a clear cut thing tbh but usually if it’s got some Midwest Emo/Post Hardcore leaning elements it’s more likely to be described as math rock than prog rock or jazz rock. Sometimes I call it emo jazz. Some other artists in this genre to check out would be Toe, Tricot, Algernon Cadwallader, Capn’ Jazz, Pens+, American Football

It's very difficult to sound different than everyone else, but Yvette has done that. Really interesting playing. Love it!
This Sounds very Ttng-esque but i do agree her music is original to some degree.
Sounds a lot like Minus the Bear, but still great either way
What are you on about she stole her sound from that covet guitarist

"Yvette and Covet", is she no longer part of the band?
No she’s still a part of it it’s probably because she’s been doing a lot of solo work
was about to comment the exact same. its wild seeing them presented that way
I think this is labelled that way because it's like a companion piece to the interview YY did with Seymour Duncan
Yvette is Covet. She gets a new rhythm section every couple of years.

It's just Covet!
Until the label realizes you're singley more popular than your band, so they use that as a marketing technique.
Isn't this jazz rock too? How did it get labeled math rock? What's the etymology of that, is it mathematical related?
