Damocles was this guy who complained to King Dionysus about wanting to trade places for a day, so he could sit on his throne
He was enjoying himself until he looked up and saw a sword that was held in place by a single strand of hair, and after that he was nervous for the rest of the day

Damocles sweet talked about how Dionysus was so fortunate and lucky to have all the stuff he had, so Dionysus offered him a taste of that luck. For a one day he had all the king's fortune with a price of sudden death at any time, making him pray for his luck.
It's a really fun item to use tho, it doubles every item spawn but each taken hit brings you closer to sudden demise, really great idea and implementation, probably my favorite item from antibirth/repentance.

10:38 This has given me insight as to how Shoop Da Whoop works. Apparently, the costume it applies to Isaac's crying sprite has an open mouth instead of closed eyes. When Shoop Da Whoop fires it's laser, it applies Isaac's crying sprite, which is an now an open mouth sprite. I never knew this, it's interesting.

When I did this challenge, I got an item early on that both healed me and applied another level of the wavy mushroom effect whenever I got hit. I was unkillable, but at what cost?

@@LoreleiBlaine It was awful. Of course I finished the run because I'd been trying the challenge for a while, but by the end of it I could barely make it through doorways.

I got an item early on that occasionally activated on enemy death. It would immediately transform EVERY enemy in the room into an eye thing, which would then drop to the floor. It wouldn’t work on bosses.
That, and I also found a no charge item that dealt damage to the entire room, as defined on the Wiki Page for the challenge, resulting in an Easy Win. Made a different sound on pickup too.

I think I figured it out. After the blue fly spawns, the next tear that hits the wall will damage you like you're playing the Onan's Streak challenge. brilliant game design.
When I did this challenge I managed to get a permanent Mega Mush effect which made me invincible and shred anything I touched, however I would take 1 heart of damage whenever I cleared a room so I lost. I lost despite being completely invincible.

fun pac fact: it was recently discovered the list of effects that can happen from glitch items, with those being:
using an active item,
adding a temporary effect,
converting entities,
area damage,
spawning entities,
and farting
this is why glitch items cause you to fart so often

For anyone who doesn't know
The sword was the item Damocles, which gives you double items for the rest of the run but after the first time you get hit after it's been activated, it has a very small chance to instantly kill you that it runs every tick, which means the longer your run goes the more likely it is to kill you
The thing that transported Isaac to a room with some pick ups and removed all his items was the effect of the item Genesis, which as a chat member previously stated, is supposed to give you replacement items.
This last one is a little bit of a spoiler, so don't read if you care about those. The sound effect that played for 20 years was probably a slowed down version of one of the voice clips about Isaac's mother and father arguing that play when ascending floors on the path to home.
My E levels have risen greatly. Thank you Grayfruit.

it sounds like a patch note to a game. I swear to God I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from "You can no longer take sunny bath with mummy" or "become enemies with child wish no longer appears"
And item with infinite use, it makes you invincible for a short bit and summons plum when near an enemy/middle of the room. That's one of the best items I have seen so far.
Only surpassed by an item I saw online that looked like sacred heart and actually gave you sacred heart.
ive seen someone get an item that spawned the chest you get after isaac/satan and it completed the challenge

Okay, after careful analysis of the footage, I believe I understand what was happening at 18:00. Laser Barrage gave him a chance to shoot a tear that would damage him if it missed an enemy, and also spawned a stationary, potentially inactive Papa Fly sprite at his location.

It has about one-tenth of the subs and views, so no. Or my other theory is that the majority of his views and subs come from one of two of his series, and they don't really care to watch the full streams, which would also explain why some of his vids get 100k views easily but stuff like Lark Souls averages like 20k per episode.

Ok, so idk if this was explained on-stream or not but I figure I'll providd some explanation. The sword is from an item called Damocles. It's a one-time-use active item that spawns that dangling sword familiar. While the sword is out, most/all item pedestal spawns are doubled (thus why you could take multiple items in item rooms); however, after you take damage once while the sword is out, it can kill you at any moment, which also despawns the sword.
The doubling alos sort of works on choices, letting you grab one item from each choice set spawned. That was why you could grab two items from boss rush that one time.

ngl after watching this i realized that this challenge must be so much better with little knowledge of repentance, if you understand very few new items, new effects, whatever, then it's just the normal chaos of this challenge but turned up by the fact that you have a sword dangling over your head but you don't know why it's there or what it'll do
