I just went to my first old school bike show myself this past weekend too! But Cru Jones wasn't there! It was cool to see all the old bikes from back in the day though. I also scored this awesome box of goodies that I'll share in a future video. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I watched your video yesterday. I love how you captured the announcement of the winners. I missed that here at the local bike show. Looking forward to seeing your box of goodies in one of your upcoming videos 🤩
real cool. nice record. bill is rad. see the reason i moved back to illinois when i did was i was to attend and start my return to racing at the grand opening of illini bmx. cru was already contracted and flight booked etc. to come to the event. i was to be his asst. i was to go with the driver to the airport to get him. i was to be doing a demo with other flatland guys. i would of sat with cru during the showing of rad at the vip event. i have one of the only few shirts made for the event. cru even has some. but it got canceled during covid. at the end of it. for some reason. sucked. but i did get some cool stuff as i said from him. photos. stickets. jersey. vans. all signed and personalized to me. just such a nice guy. so i didnt get to go to that. he didnt come obviously. but for me to know he has watched my freestyle rad tribute video and he enjoyed it. made my year lol. looks like you guys had a good time. we are going to the rockford bike show and swap meet. i will have 2 bikes for sale there. other old school gear. if all goes well. i will film a big documentary of the event. it is by chicago.
Wow, there a lot of ups and down in that story. Sorry he couldn’t make it, but it’s cool that he still sent you some cool personalized stuff! I’ll keep an eye out for a video from you about the Rockford bike show.
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood that is in fall. so it will be a ways but i will put out tons of bmx videos this summer. bike builds. races. flatland. park. street etc.
Nice! Cool bike show and rad with allen! Love it. And props for being lucky enough that your chic went with. Man, i wish every bikeshop back in the day had all the bikes the show had. Peace.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yeah, I'm lucky that my wife is so supportive and will humor me by going to events like this. Definitely my better half! Yeah, those bikes sure are fun to look at, both back in the shops back in the day, and at modern shows like this one. Cheers!
I don't know how I let this slip right under my nose I live in St Louis and I work right by Hanley industrial Court. I'm ashamed of myself good video though thank you
Hi Dan. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Sorry to hear you missed out. I followed Bill Allen’s IG account a while back and that’s how I found out about it, otherwise I’d probably have missed out too. This was the second year in a row for the event, I bet they’ll go even bigger and better next year. Hopefully, there’s a next time 👍
Wow, I would love to meet Bill Allen. I've gotta check out his schedule. I would rather meet him than almost any A list celebrities. Nice LP. You won't regret it
I just started getting into bmx again after seeing the big SE rippers around my neighborhood. I was 12 years old in 1984 so as you can imagine the Hutch, GT, Redline, PK Ripper bikes had a huge impact on me. I recently built a custom bike with the Hutch XL29 frame and fork, hutch aero speed cranks, skyway handlebars, se headset, GT stem , seat post and saddle, Haro 29" wheels and thick slick tires. It's a beast. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Your Hutch XL29 build sounds amazing, getting the aero speed cranks is a power move for sure 🤩. What color scheme did you go with?
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood @The Nostalgic Neighborhood Hutch only had the black frame and fork so I did that with the chrome cranks, chrome head set, chrome wheels with black tires, chrome seat post, chrome handlebars, black hutch seat clamp, black hutch grips, bear trap pedals are black and chrome (not hutch), black stem and seat is white with some silver, silver chain.
Nice meeting you too! You totally caught me off guard, it didn’t even cross my mind that anyone there would have seen any of my videos. 🤣 It’s cool that you brought your son with you for some father son bonding. My son is off at college, but I remember doing stuff like that with him when he was a similar age. Good times for sure 👍 Thanks for commenting 😎
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood thanks. And yes, it was great to have my son there, he really enjoyed it. He is the one that got me into this hobby by riding so young.
Not sure how I missed this, but I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for future events! I remember going to a BMX show and swap meet somewhere in the st Louis area like 10 years ago or something. Do they still do anything like that?
Cool, I bet they’ll do it again next year. I’m just getting back into it within the last couple years, so I don’t know of other recent shows/swap meets in the STL area. I haven’t heard about any.

For sure 🤩
No JMC ...
@@hushmoney2058 I haven’t seen the chrome up close on a JMC, gonna have to keep an eye out
Awesome man. Wish I could have went. Seems like theres no BMX shows in Arizona.

Definitely going to have to keep an eye out for those 👍🏼
have you seen the new gt madolorean bike?
I did! It’s probably not for me, but I can certainly appreciate it and I love anything Star Wars.
