Assalamualaikum everyone, and thanks for so many nice and helpful comments, as well as all the positivity! My mum is very happy about how much you guys praise her for sitting down and listening ❤️ Since some topics keep repeating, I wanted to clear them up here in a pinned comment:
*1. Barrier between waters:*
This is by far the topic most of you commented on, MaShaAllah 😊 I know about the related scientific discovery, but didn't include it in the video, because it wasn't part of the tafsir I read before recording. Thanks everyone for all the links etc. showing this phenomenon in the oceans!
*2. Use of the word "metaphorical":*
At 5:55, 17:14, 24:45 and 28:38 I mistakenly used the word "metaphorical" (or similar) wrongly. In the first and second case I wanted to convey, that the ayat have multiple interpretations. And in the third and fourth case, that the Qur'an is giving examples, but there are many more wonderful things waiting in paradise, apart from those. Sorry for the confusion!
*3. Disclaimer*
The following applies to *everything* I said in the video:
I have read a commentary on surah Ar-Rahman (multiple times) before recording this video, and tried to explain the interpretations I read, to the best of my ability, in easier words. In this process it is likely that mistakes slip in - may Allah (swt) forgive those errors. The book I used is the German version of "The Message of the Qur'an" by Muhammad Asad.
Moreover: A few parts I explained more in depth to my mother, but I cut some of those out in the video, so it doesn't turn out too long.

It was indeed great to see both of your full engagement into the recitation. Just two points: 1) repeating a ayah time and again 2) very slow recitation and progress of video might sounds tiring for interested non-muslim. My two cents! Jazak Allah khair.

6:28 Actually the Atlantic ocean and the pacific ocen dosnt mix together because of salt/fresh water barrier. Imagine that 1400 years ago, a man knew about this without seeing it (Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him)
It doesn't mention the Pacific or Atlantic ocean.
I have been to that place where Atlantic and Indian Ocean are separated. The water of Atlantic ocean is cold while Indian Ocean is not so cold. SubhanAllah

here in egypt.. the river nile meets the Mediterranean sea at the estuart..... salty sea water never mix with fresh water from the river.. and this is impossible according to nature's theories... and so this is one of allah's gifts to us.. al hamdulilah

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) said : "Paradise lies under the feet of mothers".
حديث: «الْجَنَّةُ تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِ الأمَّهَات»؛ رواه ابن عدي في "الكامل" من طريق موسى بن محمد المقدسي عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: «الْجَنَّةُ تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِ الأمَّهَات؛ مَن شِئن أَدْخَلْن، ومَنْ شِئن أَخْرَجْن». قال ابن عدي: موسى بن محمد المقدسي منكر الحديث.
كما ورد الشطر الأول من هذا الحديث: «الْجَنَّةُ تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِ الأُمَّهَاتِ» من حديث أنس رضي الله عنه، برواية أبي بكر الشافعي في "الرباعيات"، وأبي الشيخ في "الفوائد"، والقضاعي، والدولابي، عن منصور بن المهاجر عن أبي النظر الأبار عن أنسٍ رضي الله عنه مرفوعًا به، ومن هذا الوجه رواه الخطيب في "الجامع لأخلاق الراوي"، وذكره السيوطي في "الجامع الصغير".
وقال الإمام المناوي في "فيض القدير بشرح الجامع الصغير" (3/ 361، ط. المكتبة التجارية الكبرى): [قال ابن طاهر: منصور وأبو النظر لا يعرفان، والحديث منكر] اهـ.
وهذا الحديث وإن كان لفظه ضعيفًا إلا أنه ورد بمعناه حديثٌ آخر صحيح؛ رواه الإمام أحمد في "مسنده"، والنسائي -واللفظ له- وابن ماجه في "سننهما"، والطبراني في "المعجم الكبير" بإسناد حسن، وصححه الحاكم ووافقه الذهبي، وأقره المنذري، من حديث معاوية بن جاهمة: أنه جَاءَ النَّبِيَّ صلَّى الله عليه وآله وسلم فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَغْزُوَ، وَقَدْ جِئْتُكَ أَسْتَشِيرُكَ، فَقَالَ: «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ أُمٍّ»؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَالْزَمْهَا؛ فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ رِجْلِهَا»

My dear, what matters is not about becoming Muslim. It is about finding the truth that works for each person and feeling it in their heart. Remember the very ONE God that we believe in, has told us in the same Quran that he has sent 124000 guides, profits and messengers throughout the history of mankind. All mankind are his people, and pretty much all religions are his words with minor misunderstandings or misinterpretations. Allah said he has completed the religion with that last book (Quran) and of course he send this important book with his most important prophet. All truth we need is in that book. I admire people who are open minded enough to sit through the recitation of a whole surah, to read through and try to understand. It's difficult to do even for some Muslims. That being said, this is one of the most beautiful recitations of the Quran. May Allah bless you and your family and guide us all towards His light.

I'm shocked how Muslims can give up living in a beautiful muslim country with mosques and athan. In Germany it is not easy to pray in school or at work. I have a lot of Muslim brothers who can't go to Jumuah prayer (Friday prayer), because their bosses don't allow this. Yes the life here in Germany has his positive sides, but it has his price! The migrants who live here tell more about the good and less the bad, although the live here is not easy especially for migrants.

Obeddience is due to her as long as it does not go against the Teachings of Allah. I like how you came prepared for her questions. She asked about pearls and rubies and why we would we need them there. The thing is these are things of beauty in this world, but Allah is the greatest of artists as can be seen by just the sky, which is a canvas on a daily basis. Allah knows everything. When we first enter Paradise our gaze will be stuck looking at one thing for 5 years, then an Angel will say to us "look over here" then we will be looking for a further 10 years.The beauty of Paradise grows and grows and grows.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa......at the tip of Cape Town, the 2 Oceans, namely the Indian and the Atlantic......the one warm and the other cold and different characteristics. They meet but do not mix. On a good day u can actually see this barrier between the 2 with the naked eye. U can research it urself. Shukran. May Allaah SWT grant ur mom hidaya ameen.
