“It’s Leon Lett nooooooooo”. For 30 years that’s made me laugh uncontrollably every time I’ve heard it.
That’s the main reason why I watched this video.
This year is probably the most I have ever looked forward to watching the lions on thanksgiving
Edit: I know this aged poorly, dammit
Lions going down
@@Love2Musgrave packers going down
A football team tomorrow is going down.
@@nicolasthomas6889 Lions have a much better team than the Packers for once. The Lions are going to give Green Bay a run for their money.
For real
Man the Lions/Bills game last year was pretty decent. Lions were coming in on a 3 game winning streak, getting hot after starting 1-6. Arguably the time when the franchise had a tangible change, put them on the trajectory they are on today.
Ever since the 2nd half of last season, the Lions have shown their true potential as a good team and they are only a few games away from winning the NFC North.
@@LiamDeegew
Would you say that is the broncos this year? Haha
@@ronniehoffmeister1552 Broncos certainly have done well the last 4 games, playing like they haven't played in almost 10 years, they need to keep playing as such if they are to get a playoff spot, they're gonna be in trouble this week against Cleveland though I feel like.
Campbell started 4-19-1 in his first 24 games. The Lions are 16-4 since then. The Thanksgiving game last year against the Bills and the week 2 game against Seattle were both hard fought games the Lions came up a bit short in. The only two games the Lions looked bad in were at Carolina near the end of last season and at Baltimore last month.
Randy Moss' 3 TDs on as many catches in 1998 against Dallas was legendary
Shame that Vikings team missed the Super Bowl, watching Gary's miss makes me sad even as a Bengals fan
Yeah but the game doesn’t deserve to be on this list. It wasn’t a good game
As a cowboys fan aikman holds the passing yards record 😎
The Vikings missed out on a Super Bowl beat down that the Broncos would have put on them.
I still hear Bettis call Heads to this day
The refs in that game were atrocious 😂
Bettis was ststststuttering like crazy, smdh. Never forget that one as I stammered at times especially when I was a kid.
Dolphins vs Cowboys 1993. The end
No other Thanksgiving football game will ever top that unforgettable game!
The New England Patriots vs The Minnesota Vikings is an underrated Thanksgiving game! And also New England Patriots vs The New York Jets is memorable for the butt fumble!
There’s no way the falcons getting 3 onside kicks in a row isn’t on this
Watching Jerry Jones smile fade away never gets old
Thanksgiving games are always fun to watch with your family and friends after eating lots of turkey.
Wow Steelers got screwed on that "INT" on number 10. The Lions player was clearly not down yet when the ball was taken back by the Steelers reciever
Watching Earl Campbell bust through the line and then just turn on the afterburners, and run away from DB's...Just WOW!!!
And he wasn't a small guy💪🏿
That guy was the T definition of a monster.
@@SmoKeFella70804 Exactly, but they were built differently back then!!! Earl, Bo, Eric Dickerson and Marcus Dupree...All of them Big, Powerful and Fast!!!
ps - Let me add Hershel Walker and Tony Dorsett to the above statement!!!
Family and I drove all the way from LA to Dallas to watch the raiders playing them. Glad we won because it made that 22 hour drive worth it.
A couple suggestions for top 10 lists:
Top 10 Offensive Lines of all time, and Top 10 Defensive Lines of all time.
Neither one was ever done by NFL Top 10.
Am I the only one who enjoyed Raiders Cowboys?
Sure there were like 300 penalties but it was pretty entertaining
That bears game was peak. Aaron Rodgers goes “SNICKERS SNICKERS SNICKERS SNICKERS SNICKERS…. AW FUCK!”
That bills lions game last year was a good ass game man
I think Thanksgiving 2015 is the last time the Bears ever won in Green Bay lol
Yes that is correct.
The Bears couldn't look more cursed honestly.
@@LiamDeege It’s that Honeybear curse. Since 1986. NFL Network made a top 10 football curses list and that made #10.
@@GTAnativeInXboxAndPlayStation And number 1 is Bobby Layne and that curse could be broken sometime soon.
@@LiamDeege I don’t know…Matthew Stafford spends all those season in Detroit and only went to the playoffs once, goes to a new team and wins the Super Bowl in his first season, that curse is still going. I don’t see Jared Goff breaking it. The Lions will be lucky to win a playoff game in 2024.
Gotta love the big cat Leon Lett!! 😂
You can’t stay mad at him. Even though he cost the Cowboys the game, they still went on to make it to the Super Bowl and win.
Cowboys Vikings -randy moss 3 catches 163 yds 3 TDs , the greatest thanksgiving ever
Guess not
@@lightingbolt8148lol you don’t think so ?
It was
with your not a cowboys fan then maybe
@@kitabeedao2982 no doubt
Lol the refs in lions vs texans is wild
Thanksgiving football always feels like a early postseason game
Thanksgiving games hit different 😂in
Steelers lions was one of the most blatantly fixed games I’ve seen in my life
Definitely them refs must’ve betted on the lions that thanksgiving game
lol even the ref looked suspicious when questioned by Jerome Bettis
lol how so? Bettis clearly tried to say both and the ref wasn't having that bullshit.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the NFL Fans World Wide Everywhere
I know the raiders at Dallas was honorably mention but it was better than some of these games. Went to ot.
It was also a big win for the Raiders since it ultimately helped them make the playoffs.
Exactly
This channel never misses.
#6 Lions vs Texans was yet another game that the NFL refs screwed the Lions. All touchdowns are reviewable.
Schwartz threw the challenge flag when he didn't need to, which was why the refs couldn't review that play.
@@johnwiesner9590 it's a touchdown. All scores are reviewed. Penalty should have been against the Lions but enforced from where the runner went down.
@@aboredgeek7127exactly. Like you can still penalize the team but don’t nullify the validity of the actual play and what happened on the field. Let alone his elbow down on the tackle the lion player is literally holding the rb’s glove as he’s on the ground. Just blatant rig job. Detroit always gets the worst calls from 00s to early 2020s.
Runner was clearly down elbow AND knee!! RIGGED!!
Turkey day football!
Redskins vs Cowboys 2012 should most definitely be here
Absolutely, the true RG3 game
Instant classic.
Greatest Thanksgiving Day NFL History 1993 Miami Dolphins Against Dallas Cowboys Thanks For Uploading
For sure
We could have watched it ourselves, loser.
1980...Bears tie game on the last play of regulation, then take the kick-off of overtime to the House for the victory in Detroit. Slow game but great finish.
1st ot game in thanksgiving day history
Haven’t even finished the video and y’all are already liking it.
Because it’s NFL THROWBACK
Pretty sure you did the same thing
Bettis said Heads first, kind of a shitty thing to add that Phil Lockett messed it up...
Randy Moss in 1998 he made the Cowboys pay big time Thanksgiving Day for not drafting him in the 1998 nfl draft i bet the Cowboys regrets it to this day 6:08
Lions v. Bears 1997 should be on this list. Barry Sanders was incredible that day, rushing for 167 yards and three TDs, while setting records for the most consecutive 100 yard rushing games (11, would end up being 14), and most consecutive seasons with 1,500+ rushing yards (5). Thanksgiving in 1990s meant Barry Sanders for many of us, and this is probably his best Thanksgiving performance. It was also a wild game, with the Bears going up 17-3 early on big plays, and the Lions storming back to blow them out.
That was a great game... if you're a Lions fan...
A game that ended 55-20 is not going on this list
Why would a 55-20 blowout be on this list. None of the game on the list or on honorable mention were blowouts.
Tomlin knew what he was doing by distracting Jacoby jones😂😂😂
Happy Thanksgiving NFL fans!🏈🦃
Thanks. Same to you!
thank you, Happy thanksgiving!
You too, dude.
Ny even a mention of 1982 Lawrence Taylor (Giants) vs Lions Thanksgiving game is such a crime
As I saw the list, I said they have to show 1980 Bears at Lions. Glad it was as high as it was, I’d put it number one. Still (I believe) the Bears the only team to score touchdowns on consecutive plays.
I’m back and he still the goat
LEON LETT NOOO OH LETT WHO IS HAUNTED BY A SUPER BOWL THIS PLAY
I only watch Thanksgiving football when Dallas or Detroit plays.
They play every Thanksgiving. What are you saying?
the 🦁s playing
i mean Patriots Jets 2012 , butt fumble that's definitely an iconic moment in NFL history
but yeah i'm surprised not many Giants games were played on this holiday honestly
Leon Lett. My god. I remember watching that game and celebrating, thinking we won, and then they go to the shot of Lett sliding into the ball. The guy was a tremendous lineman and huge asset to the dynasty, consistently coming up with huge plays and during the most important games and sadly- he’ll only ever be remembered for this and the Don Beebe play.
Leion Lett nuff said 😂😂😂😂
Randy Moss had 3 catches for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns vs Dallas in 1998 because they really should have drafted Moss in the 1998 nfl draft for no reason whatsoever 6:16
EVERY team passed on Moss in the bulk of the First Round because of his off the field perceived issues coming out of college.. Why was it Dallas is the one that made the draft mistake? Besides, Moss was way better off going to the Vikings. Irvin and Aikman were out of the league after 2000 and Moss would've had Quincy Carter throwing to him.
@@thegorn68Quincy Carter was cut/let go by Big Tuna for pot issues etc,...I think didn't have time to wanna waste on his black a## and moved on, he did turn yhe franchise towards winning, picking Romo as the starter
This was so fun man! As a bears fan thanksgiving was our bread and butter
And one of the Top 3 needs to be 1962 Packers at Lions, where Detroit's defense sacked Bart Starr 11 or 12 times and the Lions resoundingly upset the defending/eventual NFL champion Packers, giving them their only defeat that season.
Nah
@aceofpizza9932 good choice Lion's traditional thxgvn day game.
If I had a nickel for every single time the Lions kicked a field goal that leaned outside the uprights and leaned back in on Thanksgiving... I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
I still find it wild that a game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins was a snow game
#1 A Team from Florida vs Texas playing in the Snow was mind-boggling!
1:04 is not an interception. doesn't have control of the ball before his head is down. bit late for complaining I know
I noticed that too! Heads up play by the TE to steal that back. Dumb Phil Lockett
That's the kind of play you review every time now thankfully.
The most amazing thing I found here is that the Bears actually won against Rogers once. 😂
Watching my garbage Bears beat Green Bay on thanksgiving, on Brett Favre night, with Bart Starr in attendance, at Lambeau Field , will always be in my top 5 Bears memories
I will still blame Bettis for that Heads/Tails debacle over...Luckett was it? I can hear Mark Madden sentiments echoing in my head from NFL Films. What are we in grade school?! You're gonna try to fool me with Hea-Tails?!
The best part was watching teams days after making absolutely sure their voices were clear on coin tosses. Hilarious to think such a simple event became hyper focused for weeks after.
Heads... no wait, Tails!
Cowboys Dolphins because Leon Lett was an idiot for touching the ball.
I just knew it was going to be the Leon Lett game
This year it's gonna be Geno and Spoon eating turkey at the 50 yard line. Welcoming the new era of Seahawks
How did that go??
Go Cowboys 🤘🤘
Dallas and Minnesota should be in the top 10, not an honorable mention.
The 2005 broncos cowboys game is underrated
What happened for the texans to be 9-1?????
one of the best defenses in the league with dpoy jj watt and arian foster and andre johnson on offense? those teams were raw and made me a football fan.
Bruener took the ball from Fredrickson before Fredrickson was down
Happy Thanksgiving🦃Everyone
Happy Thanksgiving🦃To You And Your Family NFL Throwback
Cowboys fans will remember Leon Lett for playing nine seasons, 2 pro bowls, 3 superbowl rings, and being an absolute terror to offenses.
As a cowboys fan. This list is horrible 😫 😅😂😂
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Same To You And Your Family
Awesome video
The referee tripping on the sidelines during the pollard return was hilarious
Always watch out for those Ivy League athletes (Jason Garrett from Princeton). If you don't, they'll get you every time.
Great list and it's nice to see you guys didn't monkey around and try to be "controversial". The top 3 were what I had in mind before I clicked this.
Is there a reason why the lions and cowboys always play on thanksgiving?
Lions had always done it and the cowboys asked. Nfl decided to keep it with just these 2(til recently)
The Cowboys didn't play on Thanksgiving in 1975 and 1977. The then-St. Louis Cardinals hosted (and lost big) on both occasions.
texans lions 2012 still gets me, how can you have a rule that leads to a situation that stupid
Me and my dad are going to watch the Seahawks game today and we are so excited
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! God bless:)
2012 Cowboys vs redskins not being in here is criminal isn’t that a thanksgiving game
2012 Washington v Dallas ????
Vikings cowboys should be on the list besides Randy moss having a coming out party but troy has the record of passing yards on Thanksgiving
Great video!
In the Cowboys/Vikings OT game in '87 the Cowboys came back to tie the game after trailing by 14 on 3 separate occasions. Story of Danny White's career - nearly, but not quite.
Bears Packers shouldn't be an honorable mention, they should be number one
I was a huge Earl Campbell fan when I was 8. I’d seen him on tv playing for Texas and they were making a big deal about him and just decided he was my favorite player lol. I became a Houston Oilers fan (unless they were playing my hometown Vikings). Somehow my mom scored a Oilers #34 jersey and I wore that thing once a week to school…back then in the 70’s in Minneapolis, it was unheard of to get your hands on other teams stuff. Anyways, we’d play “smear the queer” during recess and you better believe I was crushing would be tacklers and refusing to go down thanks to that jersey. Fun seeing his highlights I obviously saw as a kid but had forgotten.
Love how the Chicago Bears beat Karen Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on that day!🐻
I actually think the ref was right in that Lions/Steelers game. Bettis said heads then changed it to tails.
Bettis was stuttering.
Rg3 game gotta be in here
U gotta admit, last year in 2022, the Patriots vs Vikings game on thanksgiving is hella underrated, there were lots of big plays, lots of scoring, and just a great game in general. Me personally, I feel like it should be on this list.
Raiders-Cowboys in 2021 as well
10:00 still shocked at how that’s a TD. Cost Detroit the game and possibly playoffs that year (I’m aware that they finished 4-12; winning this game would put them right at the thick of it)
LMAO WTF
Pretty sure its cause the coach threw the challenge flag before the ball was dead he cost them a penalty and prevented the play from being reviewed.
What was the field made of in the 10th spot?
Raiders vs Cowboys was too good to just be an honorable mention
Feel like Cowboys Raiders deserved more than an honorable mention, that game was awesome
Cowboys vs Saints in 2010 was an all-timer
Also, Saints vs Falcons in 2019 deserves an honorable mention.. Falcons fell short, but recovered 3 onside kicks in a row. It was crazy
What up from Gretna bruh 👍
Happy Thanksgiving to ya mom'n'dem
Ooooh ok yeah #10 I vividly remember that game and I now realize how much older I’m getting 😞
Snow in Dallas never would have thought ⭐🔵⚪🏉🦃😱🌨️🥶
the lions glazing is insane
Can we just note that
The Vikings taking on the New England Patriots last year was possibly the game of thanksgiving 26-33 final, it was insane it is extremely underrated and should of been on this list.
Both that and the Lions-Bills game were great. Overall the games were pretty good last year
Chicken the trophy play ref night 🤣 he us know on Thanksgiving in opportunity to lion advantage!❤😂😂
That Dolphins win at the end tho against my Cowboys 🥴😭🤦♂️, I think I know the reason why I’ve never heard of Leon Lett, crazy to think he had a long 9 year career with the Cowboys even after making embarrassing mistakes like this
