- Hailed as the most faithfully filmed adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary characters. This acclaimed series stars Ronald Howard as the world-famous sleuth and H. Marion Crawford in a different portrayal of Dr. Watson than usual.
THE CASE OF THE BAKER STREET BACHELORS: Candidate Jeffery Bourne is being blackmailed with false abuse charges by a woman he met through a marriage bureau. Holmes and a reluctant Watson investigate the agency by posing as lonely hearts, with Holmes claiming to be a very rich one. As expected, he's promptly blackmailed as well, but is unexpectedly tossed into jail. It's up to Watson and Lestrade to burglarize the bureau and find some evidence. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
It was from this moment on, that Sherlock Holmes decided to stop letting Lestrade take credit for the crimes Sherlock solved. And because of that, his adventures were published by Watson, and we got to know Sherlock for the genius he really was. :P
SUPERBLY CLASSIC, BRITISHLY CHARMING - ENCHANTING CHARACTERS -THE BEST OF ALL VERSIONS
Crawford is an excellent comedic actor.
I'm loving this series! Thank you for sharing these. I'm even becoming quite the fan of Dr. Watson! :)
This Dr Watson is absolutely my favorite and I never thought anyone could top Nigel Bruce, esp on the old radio shows when let him be less of a buffoon.
@@armynurseshark I absolutely agree.
I love how perfectly clumsy and awkward Watson was with the ladies. Was the fake angry husband aunt Lottie? ?
The look on the marriage makers face when he heard Holmes' story of wealth was pure avarice.
'How old is Aunt Agatha?' Holmes: '94.'
What a wonderful series! Sherlock & Watson, at their very best. Am thoroughly enjoying each episode....well done! Thank you for sharing these masterpieces.
That Inspector Lestrade is such a knucklehead. I love these episodes.
I love this Sherlock Holmes🥰🥰
Thrilling and Action is so very well and entertaining. So cute how Watson get embarrassed by the woman 😊
Watson is super cute I agree.
AnnemieM however ‘a confirmed old bachelor and likely to remain so”.
"She's awfully stupid but she can scream" great line. Fun episode.
That's totally funny
Wonderful, encountering Leslie Howard’s son!
"Lestrade my old friend." Holmes in jail hahahahaha . . .
Please forgive me I was trying to say that it was funny that Watson is so nervous in this version, but it was sad that afterwards when Watson did marry Mary she passed away later
Watson's coughing fit at 11:12 is caused by him knowing that, at this time (as shown in some episodes), Holmes wasn't yet a very good violin player at all!
really an awesome series which the people of that time was blessed to have witnessed
ravi kumar.....hardly anyone saw these, at the time, because not that many people had a television, yet!
Super awesome!

These are so fun that I can binge watch them over and over! Thanks, really enjoyable series. :)

One of the best movies 😊
How sad that composer Paul Durand’s contribution to the series seems to be so ignored and under appreciated.
A very entertaining episode of "Sherlock Holmes" featuring H. Marion Crawford and Ronald Howard. The production values are high for this over six decade old series with good plots, pacing and acting from the primary and supporting cast.
11:12 rather brilliantly iv been told. I choked on my tea. From Watson reaction. Absolute gold😆😆🤭👏👏
now i've 2 comedic episodes - really fun. i used to watch this show, but either i don't remember the
stories or else they're new ones for me. the characters are quite 'friends' though. thanks much :}
Lestrade finally got the last laugh!
Lovely:). Thank you, PizzaFix:).
Sherlock solved the crime from behind bars!! Bully! 💰💰💰

Great shows. I love them.
J’ai suis d’accord
@@ronaldmessina4229 Could you please tell me what that says in English?
thanks for posting
The shy eligible bachelor Dr Watson had important role to save smart, rich and talkative Holmes from blackmailing fake bureau and even handle stupid lady with very interesting investigation.
Watson is hilarious with the lady
This is one of the better ones.
Lastrade's maniacal laughter proves he is quite insane.
Thank you.
Thank you!
I enjoyed this episode.
Light hearted but none the less entertaining
Really good series
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
👍👍👍💕 thank you‼️
Loved this one
black and white Sherlock Holmes are better then the color ones

@doctor mcboy word
What I do like is a Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson series with Geoffrey Whitehead. Also made by Sheldon Reynolds.
But for me, the best Holmes is Jeremy Brett, and the Murder Rooms series with Ian Richardson, The Rathbone films, and movies like: A study in terrror, murder by decree, case of the silk stalkings, and two Ian richardson Sherlock Holmes films.
Yes I also enjoy Sherlock (bbc) and the two American Sherlock Holmes movies)
Love Sherlock Holmes
@@claireprice8021 Ohhh I hadn't noticed / did not know the series with Geoffrey Whitehead was also by Sheldon Reynolds ~ I love that one, too! So awesome to know ~ thank you ^^
Hhhhaaa so funny and perfect ,, like it
That poor old cabbie can barely stay awake.
Read Poe's MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE...you will see the first literary rendering of the 'two fellows as great companions who becoming involved in a murder case.." Daupin has amazing powers of intuition, deduction and foresight. He goes in search of a most unusual murderer. I will not spoil it for anyone who has not enjoyed this. And if you love Sherlock Holmes stories, you will delight in thinking how this character evolved into the one we so love, today....
agree! auguste dupin was my first detective
4:25 The marriage Bureau's signboard looks more like a grave headstone lol!
Excellent...
Excellent
I've never heard Toulouse-Lautrec referred to as plain "Lautrec" before, but who am I to argue with Sherlock Holmes?
It's good to see an American production pronouncing Lestrade correctly for once.
I had wondered which was the correct pronunciation.
It's a little funny to me when you think about how Watson says he's had an experience of women over three continents in the books and he gets gynophobia here ^^
Watson was a ladies man.
These episodes arent A Conan Doyle. I think they may be written by Sheldon Reynolds
In the books, he really was a ladies man, and was even married multiple times.
fun watching watson squirm.
That was fun !
This one made me laugh. Marriage bureau’s haven’t changed much other than the name and the scammer is a Lone Ranger.
Marriage scammer is also very gullible. He didn't even ask to see Holmes' bankbook or deposit certificates.
Not insulting the lone ranger I hope.
Nice🎉
Yes, Mr Oliver seems very reputable...
Ron Howard later went on to Opie Taylor on the Andy Griffin show :D
Correct... but not related to the British actor Ronald Howard who stars as Sherlock Holmes in this series.
Dspeir......Really? Is he not a tad too old to go on and play Opie? Plus, you have 2 different nationalities mixed up!
I thought Ron Howard was Opie's dad in real life.
@@pinkbeautytwinkle your thinking of Curly Howard
Ronald Howard was a nice guy. He did a good Sherlock Holmes. I've seen several of his episodes. He's not my favorite in the role. That's Peter Cushing. But in the 50s, he was the only one on American TV.
& if there's no inspektor... send the inspektor. Ha Ha Ha
When Watson steps out of carriage- 4:18 - he looks like David Suchet as Hercule Poirot.
Say the name of the proprietor of the Dating Agency right and you have "I'll have her"
Hey thats funny indeed
Ol 'ave 'er, and 'er and 'er!
same thought! like david suchet poirot
I love Watson, scared of the ladies, with good reason!
✋ in the Drawer. Gotta be of the Inspektor. !!!! Got it ?
Some Answered Questions. At the interval
Amazing; London only has one cabby.
Come on Dr Watson! You can do it!! 😂
Poor Watson
Isn't it funny in one of Sir Arthur Doyle's story, Dr Watson was perfectly fine and totally in love with Mary and married her, but I think later she passed away?... But in this version Dr Watson is at nerves!
'She's awfully stupid, but she can scream' I think that's what my father in law said about my missus when I asked if i could marry her !
obrigada
Drawers. That's a DRAW
The next time Lastrade asked for Sherlock's help the answer would be NO! As for Mason, if I were Holmes, I would go to Mycroft and have Mason struck from the force. If Mason is really that stupid, he has no business on the police force - they're stupid enough without him.
Oh _ABSOLUTELY_ !
3:54 😂
Sheer delight.
11:01 😆

❤
You would think that Scotland Yard would have more power over an inspector in a police force
I found it interesting that Watson felt uncomfortable with a woman. and always doing everything for Holmes. suspect🧐
😁😀 Sherlock
This series must have set a record for recycling actors. lol
The series was shot in Paris France. The number of available English speaking actors was extremely limited.
Pipen good.
There are no unattractive ladies we are all beautiful ❤

These old things are like a dog that's so ugly, it's cute. They're so awful in nearly every way that they're somewhat addictive.
It’s 2 years on now, are you still a dick?
Was this episode meant to convince us that Holmes was an imbecile or that the acting and directing was laughably horrendous?
Haha
Congratulations! Sheldon Reynolds Joseph Victor and Roger E Garris has taken an honorable character and made him in to a criminal. I am sure that Sir Doyl would have done the same.
The correct address to a knight of the realm is to use Sir followed by his Christian name, not his surname. If he is an aristocrat, nobleman then it is My Lord,Your Lordship or in some instances Your Grace, used in the 3rd party His Lordship or his Grace. If it is The Queen or King it is Your Majesty, 3rd party is Her or His Majesty.Never Your Royal Highness, these titles are reserved for their children and some other members of the family.Confusing isn't it.?Imagine what it is like being a member of the Royal Household, that's the staff, not the family.😊

Faithfully?...no way
Don,t like the Elementary series also. But the intro/music is great.
Ruined the series by making Watson and Lestrade buffoons, as was the case with the Rathbone/Bruce series. Watson and Letrade were serious persons, as played in the more recent English color series. Read the stories. There was no comic relief, as in this series.
i think you should mean that the recent series you speak of ruins it.
Lestrade was a buffoon in the original stories, and is more intelligent here, not less. This Watson is a little stuffy, but is of normal intelligence.
@@charlesodell804 ....you cannot have been paying attention. Lestrade is not more intelligent here...he still has to wait for Sherlock or his Sergeant to fill him in. As for Watson who should be a well rounded individual, he still seems dim at times,
