I have their auto (I can’t remember the name to save my life… it’s the rescue auto but has the pointed blade instead of the seatbelt safe shaped blade.) that is in LC 200N. Been great, especially with it being an auto AND a compression lock.
But man I love watching your videos. You haven’t changed a bit, in the best way. Reminds me when I made shitty videos and we’d comment back and forth with the old channel names haha. I’m just glad I have a LOT better knives than I did back in the day. But some of those I do still have.
Kool knives. Think I’ll pick them both up.

I like the FRN models, a model I like that doesn't get as much respect is the Rock Jumper. I wish they'd put it out in G10 and S30v.

I use to have one of the old style clips. Unfortunately it was stolen about 20 years ago 😢. Don’t remember the particular name of the knife I just remember it was a fully serrated blade with the solid clip.
Love the catcherman. I picked up a couple of the USN version earlier this year when purchasing part of a spyderco collection.

I wonder if the price drop has to do with Spyderco’s overall size as a company and their ability to get materials cheaper buying larger volumes. They can probably also produce knives like this more efficiently having more machines, experience etc.

Pocket clip on the filet knife, reminds me of some of the older Cold Steel knives pocket clips

Grabbed a catcherman as soon as they became available. I was told they never planned on making these again but they received a batch of lc200n that was too thin for anything else so they decided to make a batch. Never to be made again. Until another batch is messed up I guess!

Oddest Spyderco knives I've seen to date!
Never been a fan of the brand but I'm noticing that they have some of the sharpest blades out of the box!
I'm thinking about buying one myself and not sure if the Shaman or the Manix 2 will fit my needs?
Both are excellent for EDC. Really just depends on what you prefer. Shaman is bigger than the Manix 2. Manix 2 great ball lock cage. The Bodacious is awesome too. Better cutting edge than the Shaman and they got rid of the gigantic finger choil.
I did not know that Spyderco was the pioneer on knife pocket clips and that's crazy to me as a Spyderco fan! So thank you for that but in terms of the second knife even at a discounted price at $225 for vg10? no thanks when you can get a Manix 2 with the same lock if not improved for $230 at the most with Maxamet..pretty hard pass but a cool history piece I suppose.

Price is probably cuz the titanium & ball lock was rare back then. So you were paying for something one of a kind rather then cost of material? 🤷♀️

Ive never seen the i never seen the Phoenix 😎 its cool but vg10 steel for almaot 300 bucks i prefer my manix 2s.
