I house/dog sat for a family that had 7 Newfies, never needed a blanket with all the snuggles.

"Aggressively Friendly" is the term I use. I have had cats and dogs whose attitude was "I will MAKE you love me!". LOL
My Bernese mountain boy will aggressively paw at you until he get pats. In the event that you stop, you shall be aggressively snooted until the pats resume.
Whereas my golden retriever will sit a couple of centimetres away, paw at the ground once and stretch. If the request is accepted he will push his head against your chest and stand very still.
@@wawaweewa8749 My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog does the paw thing to demand pets also. We call this the thunder paw.

BIG doggos that think they're lap-sized never fail to crack me up. They don't mean to squish you flat as matzo; they just want to love and be loved. 😄 Seeing you hugging him made me think of the scene in 'Despicable Me' at the carnival where the youngest girl is holding the BIG unicorn stuffie and saying, "It's so fluffy!" 😂

I love having a newf because it makes the cuddles so much nicer when your dog is the same size as you laying down. I can also hug her like a human and don't have to be as careful squeezing her because she's way stronger than me haha It's also nice not to have to bend (as a tall person) to pet her
It's really shocking to see just how giant these dogs are when you hug them at the end like that. He's HUGE! What a gentle giant! I love him!!
Yes, because they walk on all fours, so we are so much taller than them, you can underestimate them. When people get down on the ground with them you see how large they really are.

It's always the big, heavy dogs that think they're supposed to be nesting on our laps. I had a St. Bernard squish me in the couch one time and it was so adorable 💞🤣
It's cause people usually put them in their laps when they're adorable little puppies, not realizing that the dogs will think that's the normal thing to do when they've grown to monster proportions. 😆

My friend's dog does this, but then he wants to lean back with his head up and asks me to reach forward and give him belly scritches. I'm like dude, there's an easier way to do this. But then he wouldn't get to leeeaaaaan on me, so it obviously won't work.

I just stumbled across your channel, and I must say, I've not seen any Utubers that have been so perfect for their chosen pursuit. Your demeanor and humor are infectious, and your intuition and patience are admirable. I think your heart is as big as the Mastiffs you've had on, you're as entertaining as some of the crazy critters you care for, and you're really helping a soon-to-be dog owner zero in on what I need to get to be my chicken guard dog. (as soon as I can find a spot out in the country) So, thank you for sharing and showing just what a model animal groomer should look like, and what I need to look for in a companion to help me take care of the critters I'll soon have running around the barnyard.
