    Thank you😉 now I see why mine isn't happy sence I took it from water culture to soil in 5 years it only bloomed 1x and that was when it was in water for 3 years ,it was thrown on back porch presumed dead but I saw 1mm of green, and saved it😀 I just trans planted it from old dirt to new organic soil so I won't change the soil yet ,as not to shock it but when it gets warmer I will add the husk,and cocopeat to soil

    Sorry I wasnt able to support you through the process but youhave done well thus far.
    I would somewhat disagree on the potting mix if you wish to see brilliant results thus just stick to coca peat fiber wood charcoal and coconut husk...
    Once a month a dosage of mustard cake water and believe me there will be no looking back.
    I have since added new colours and even miniature varieties that just gorgeous.

      @Anthony Pereira, Most welcome and thank you very much for your inputs, I really appreciate it. You don't have to say sorry, instead, I am really sorry for not getting back to you. Sure, I would follow you and 2 of my plants are almost in similar media - soil-less media and like what you have suggested here. Waiting for the result and hope they do well :-) Actually, I am not that good when it comes to soilless media and I would need to learn from an expert like you.
      My local variety one did quite well...before, I used to get max one bloom :-( But now, getting 2-4 blooms regularly and happy for it. The miniature variety, which I have shown at last, was in similar kind of media - Cocopeat + Perlite.
      Thank you once again and your Anthuriums are awesomely gorgeous :-) TC :-)

    Thank you very much for sharing another helpful video. Please say how much water it needed and what should be the frequency of watering. Some leaves of my plant are blackened at the edge and some are yellowish. Is it for less watering?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety +4

      @sutapa thakur, Most welcome and thank you very much for watching :-) I would upload a detailed video very soon but anyway, going to answer your questions here. 1. Watering - It depends on many factors actually. But still, water only when top soil dries out completely and in most cases, it's okay if you water them once in 5-7 days. The soil should be extremely well drained, otherwise, you would find yellow leaves (happened because of more water in the soil).
      With Anthurium, it's better to underwater than overwatering. The plant would give you signal when it would needs water - you would find the droopy leaves on your plant. Wait until and unless you don't see that and this way, you would be able to know the exact frequency you would need to water in your climate. For example - you see droopy leaves on 7th day. From next time onward, water your plant one day advance (on day 5 or 6) and continue watering in the same frequency. This is the same thing I follow when I am not sure about the exact water requirements of a new plant. I cut down on watering and let the plant wilt it's leaves. From next onward, I water one day advance :-)

    Chandan da, i hope u would 'nt laugh at my question.. The thing is,where do u collect garden soil from.? Our building premises is full of sandy concrete.. Whereas i collect it from my neighbour(who has an unkempt backyard), do u think i need to treat the soil further like add fungicide etc to the soil? I know i sound silly but trust me, i really need to ask someone abt this and u are the best i know..

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety +3

      @Himakshi Sharma, There is absolutely nothing to laugh and I am sorry for the bit late reply..usually I try my best to reply within 48 hours. I collect it from locally (some tempo driver). Since I am staying near Sankardev Kalakhetra, it's bit easier for me. It's okay not to treat the soil with fungicide and I never do that. I mean, just after getting the soil, don't want to mix any chemical with it. We can use BioNematicide to treat the soil...but I usually don't do it. If you get any issues at all, feel free to ask me and no worry about any questions :-) We all were new at some point. Thank you and TC :-)

    Hi,
    I watched a couple of repot flower videos, and noticed that you always put stones at the bottom of the planter to cover the holes . How the flowers drain like that ?

      @mumbainan Před 2 lety

      The stones or pieces of broken pots are to prevent the soil in the pot from washing away, water will still drain out of the holes.

    How do you take care of the plant?where do you place them and how do you water?

      @IRENE RAMIREZ, Thank you for your questions. I would do a video on complete Anthurium care very soon (with results). But for time being, I am going to answer your questions here - 1. Where I place them - In a bright area and no direct sunlight at all. Direct sun burn the leaves 2. Water - Very infrequently and only when top 1 inch soil is dry. More water would cause the leaves to turn yellow. For plants where I used soil, I water them once in 7-10 days (in winter) and for plants where I didn't use any soil, I water once in 3-5 days (in winter). Watering schedule in Summer varies as we get frequent and consistent rainfall in Summer. I hope that helps, thank you :-)

    I have a few Anthurium plants but they are not blooming. I used Charcoal, coconut chunks, gravel, perlite and little bit dry cow doing. How often to fertilize them?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 6 měsíci

      Once in 25-30 days is sufficient. You can try using liquid Seaweed Extract and Potassium Humate to encourage flowering..here is a short video about Potassium Humate - czcams.com/users/shortsgFtKxe6JD90
