That game was so painful to watch the end of. Cuz it wasnt just Fabi failing to convert his advantage. Commentators kept showing lines where if the players took massive risk even Ian could win. It felt like they were both just desperately trying to squeeze more imbalance out of the position, to give at least one of them a chance, by the end they were almost allies, fighting and trying against the position rather than each other, but their struggles were wasted... a poetic tragedy.

@@ChandrakantVadher how? It really doesn't at all. In what way is Nepo::Fabi = King::Prince? How did said Nepo stop Fabi's future? How did Fabi "start a war"?
Almost every analogy used has issues. Also, why create a story/dialogue for a scene only to make it fictional? The video itself is the story and dialogue, it's more accurate and emotional.
The only way it works is to say it's a fictional scene inspired by the video. But it does not at all 'beautifully sum up the situation.'

It's funny in a cynical way. GMs try to play like chess bots, but they're only human. They go through so much exhaustion having to play for hours, constantly concentrating and stressing over each next move. Not to mention the many years and decades of dedication to even reach this point.
Both needed to win. Heartbreaking that this tie means they both lose for this tournament. I hope they're able to shake this one off and keep playing their hearts out! And hey, now they can relax at the very least. Their love and passion for chess shows and is appreciated throughout this community. And I'm glad to see some humility from them here.
