Ok so he has put the brown wires on the positive of the male power jack and the blue one is the negative in the powerjack, the orange wire is used for video.
I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t just use PoE systems. Much easier to work with cameras are low voltage anyways. Will start installing systems in the I.E. soon as I get my system up.
Over long distance of say 100m and above, I wouldn’t advice anyone to use cat6, unless you have your power close to the camera, else those cat 6 thin cable can’t power the camera.

It does work , check the cable for continuity on all 4 pairs, you may have a faulty pair 😉
