Bird trapped down chimney released

It was making noises behind the fire for about 24 hours. We did't know what it might be. I predicted that it was a bird and my wife bet 50p on it being a rat. While she went out of the house I got stuck in. The magpie was fine in that it was able to fly to the top of next doors house. Although I could see that its wing tip feathers were worn away from it's fruitless attempts to fly out of a chimney. It's happily back with nature now.
