And "Hoping I'll be feeling better soon Baby I'm a sunflower who can't bloom But imma make a run for it soon Goodbye room" Are, to me, the most hopeful and uplifting lines, and they definitely speak volumes to me. See, I've been here. I have been in the room mentioned in the song more than once. The first time I was truly in that much darkness, I didn't fight as hard as I should've, and so I'm still feeling the effects of that, even after I'm mostly over it. But the second time I was in that room, in that much darkness, that was when I had come across Icon For Hire, and their songs for some reason inspired me to fight harder than I ever did to get out of said room. It was hard, but I managed it The best way I can describe how it felt after getting out of such terrible anxiety so quickly is that it was like coming out of a room that had no contact with the outside world. It had curtains drawn and everything, so I couldn't see the light. So I couldn't see ANYTHING that was happening outside. So when I came out of it, I was somewhat lost and confused for a tiny bit since I didn't have any clue what happened outside the room while I was in it. That shock, confusion, whatever you want to call it, was only for a short while, though, and everything became so much better So, to those struggling with terrible mental illness, sometimes that room of mental illness you lock yourself into is worse than whatever you're scared of. Than the outside world. But I know you can get out of it if you really try and maybe you'll be just as surprised as I was
Even though on the lyric page it does say (headphones) I listened to that part of the song oh about 683 times and the way she sings it to the best of my ability to figure out what it is/was it's actually (Head forms)
what do the lines at 0:45 (had the blinds drawn shut for a while now it just feels right) and also lines at 0:50 (and i don't wanna know what's waiting for me on the outside) mean ?
Maybe it'll help if you think of it this way: The room - Your emotions or feelings on things. Your view of yourself, I guess The outside - Your perspective on the world So I'd say that "Had the blinds drawn shut for a while now" is figurative for you blocking yourself off from everything, including joyful feelings or wants or desires And perhaps "And I don't wanna know what's waiting for me on the outside" could mean you're afraid of stepping out of yourself, your mental illness, whatever, because you're so afraid that once you do something that brings you joy, something else will come along, smashing you down and possibly making you worse Those are just examples, of course
