    The full joke text follows:
A guy walks into a pet bird shop and sees a parrot.
    What's that parrot?
Keep your hands off! That one costs $10,000.
    Are you crazy?
No, this parrot knows the whole Shulchan Oruch (The Jewish law books) by heart. Try him out and you'll see.
    OK. And what's that parrot.
Keep away, and don't even get close. That one goes for half a million dollars.
    Why? What does it know?
It knows the whole Shulchan Oruch, The Babylonian Talmud, The Jerselamite Talmud, Nigleh and Nistar (the known and the hidden - referring to Kaballah) and all the Poskim (Jewish law responsa books), and Rishonim and Achronim (early and late commentators on the Talmud).
Wow! This is an important rabbinical parrot.
Wow wow wow - an extremely special parrot.
    OK.
He continues down the store, and there are three big guys with guns.
And what's that one over there?
Hey!! Hands off! Keep away! That one costs one million dollars.
What could a parrot cost one million dollars for? If that one knew the Shulchan Oruch, and the other one knew the Talmud Babli Yerushalmi and the Poskim and all the Rishonim and Achronim , this probably knows...
I'll tell you the truth (Hebrew: Emess) This one knows NOTHING (Gor-Nicht).
So then why does it cost so much?
It truly knows nothing, but when this parrot passes down the isle, all the other parrots start singing and dancing: Yomim Al Pnei Melech Toisiff (Hebrew from the Psalms: May the kings days be added to.)
This is a song which is sung to old Rabbis particularly Hassidic ones, and he is saying that some of them appear to be sagely but know nothing, while the others who do know "bow down" to the ignorant ones.
