Thank you for doing a regular, common sense review of what is a handy, practical knife. Also, I agree 110% with what you said about what you use your knife for and all the bs that goes with those other “big name” knives. For 99% of us, that knife will do fine.
Good practical knives. I use mine a lot when I'm hunting, trapping and working around my home and the garden. It is easier to get a Peasant knife in and out of my pocket compared to returning a fixed blade knife to a belt sheath, especially when wearing bulky clothing. I have a mini Peasant as well as the full size peasant. I have ground the spine down on mine to give them a sharper point. I've also tied a bit of cord through the hole which I finished with a lanyard knot. This helps me pull the knife from a tight pocket or sheath, plus it adds a bit more security when I'm pushing the blade into something. I have other pocket knives and fixed blade knives which I use from time to time, but currently the knives I carry the most are the Peasants. Best wishes from New Zealand.
I enjoy the Svörd I purchased some years back. Perhaps I should have purchased the larger model if I had intended any serious use for it, like gardening, but I'm happy with the smaller model though I mainly have it in my office to do light work Though I bought the plastic handle version, I quickly replaced it with a wooden one, and varnished it. I did round of the pointed handle edge, so it is much smoother in the pocket. Thigh there is an unimaginable variety of folders out there to choose from, I truly enjoy the remarkable simplicity of the Svörd, it's such an incredible little knife Thanks for the review. Glad you're getting good use out of it.
I have the wood gripped one. I soaked the wood in Tung oil to bring out the natural finish. I got it razor sharp and blued the blade with Brownells Oxpho-blueing, it does a great job.
I have one of those. I replaced the scales with wood (purple heart). Very easy to do with this knife. The lever that you open the knife with does a great job of opening paint cans--so much better than using a blade for that!
I've seen these. I prefer high carbon steel. They will get dangerously sharp. I used to carry case xx sodbusters until they started making them out of stainless.
stainless just isn't "all that" when it comes to a working blade you're using a lot. harder to sharpen and wont hold edge near as well either when its worked. for a knife I prefer unhardened tool steel over stainless.
I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing people have a long, one way conversation with a camera or a phone and act like they're talking to someone, and really have a great time doing it. But that's what I get for being born in the 50's, which I am very thankful for. People in these times love themselves, and love to hear themselves talk.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE !! one of the coolest I'd had that'd disappeared was a Western 2 blade of high carbon Damascus looking steel. easy to sharpen and I'd put wicking in its slots packed with grease. it'd slip through automotive hose like it was butter, small branches etc too, is exactly why that great old knife got "vanished" by someone, unfortunately.
Uniquely this mini peasant fits even the most restrictive laws in California. So it has become de facto my EDC. And this is the review that introduced me to it. So thank you!
I bought one of the large ones years ago they came with a piece of paper asking if you could give them a idea for any other knives that you would like them to design I wrote to them and told them to make a mini version of their large peasant knife a few years later they came out with this knife
Great Job and thanks Travis. I think I'm gonna pick up one these blades. Simple, Easy to maintain, and just plain gets the job done. A perfect Utility knife that is made in the USA and for around $20 bucks can't go wrong at that price. Again Travis have a Very Blessed and safe Thanksgiving. P.S. I just received in the mail yesterday the beginning of my Crosman 1377 build. I got my Buck Rail standard folding stock setup. It's sweet looking, next I'll be getting a steel breech and the Buck Rail suppressor along with there bigger pump handle. Excited and grateful you put that video out on the Daisy 880 suppressor your the reason I purchased one for my 880 and two days ago I also received a suppressor for my Crosman 362 it looks awesome. I was a little worried at first because it was not going on it was extremely tight fighting and I know there material Is solid and I trust there build Quality with the 3D printed parts but I really though it was going to crank because it was not going down onto my barrel. But I just kept spinning it back and forth a little at a time and would pull it off and repeat and eventually it went on. If rather it be tight for sure so it won't come off since the 362 is just a press fit style like the 880 is minus the Adaptor. The suppressor seems to be a great quality and I Absolutley love supporting a veteran like the Owner of Buck Rail, so it's a win win for sure. Again, Thank You very much, the content you hve produced is great and you very much fit my style, simple clean Affordable and get out and enjoy. I myself also do not have very much too just blow, so whatever I can do too save and too get the best bang for buck is extremely important too me. So a Big Thanks too you Travis and a big Shot Out to Buck Rail, awesome having a veteran owned small business that is producing some Amazing products !!!!! Take Care. 😎👍
Great video Travis and that does look like a great EDC for sure. I have similar sentiments when it comes to knives, it must be pocketable(if that's a word) and I like the carbon steel blades as they hold an edge well. I usually carry around the opinel, it is always with me but I usually use it to cut biltong 😁.

Fantastic film, your funniest yet Travis! I get parcels, but why peel apples? Do you have trouble with the peel? I normally just rub it on my jumper a while, and eat! Anyway,.I like the knife, it looks basic and uncomplicated, how I like everything!
I've had a couple of Opinels. They cut well and hold a good edge, but I found that when they got wet the wood could swell and make it hard to open the blade. I also broke an Opinel blade once which put me off a bit. A hard blade can hold a good edge, but it is probably going to be more brittle than a slightly softer blade. While I still have an Opinel which I reserve for special jobs, I prefer my one-hand-opening, rugged and simple Peasant. An Opinel is a fairly socially acceptable knife to use in a public area. The sort of knife that might get photographed with cheese, a baguette and a bottle of wine on a picnic table.

I agree with you on the opinel. I’ve snapped the tip off one myself. I still carry the svord the most out of anything.

Thanks for the review I am a fan of good inexpensive knives. I find myself leaving my expensive knives in the safe and carrying the cheaper ones.

I think it’s my genes. Long lineage of peasant dna. I’ve basically evolved to push a wheel barrow.
