Z don’t forget you need lemon juice to add to the tomatoes when you can them,,,,sterilize your jars in boiling water,,,in your other pan,put sliced or cubed tomatoes and boil,then simmer for 15 min,,,take a jar out of the hot water and put tomatoes in the jar,leaving an inch of space,,add a tablespoon of bottled lemon juice,,bottled because of the guaranteed acid level,,not fresh they vary too much in acidity,,when they are packed ,,put in water bath for 20 min,,sit out on the counter when done,,and cover with a heavy towel to keep drafts from them,and protect from sudden temp changes,,,
So happy to hear you have caught the "Canning" bug Amy. Aldi's had 10 pound bags of chicken leg thighs yesterday 5.90 a bag I0 pound bags. I bought 30 pounds and will be canning those Mon and Tues. ( I boil them in a big pot the first day (save the water aka bone broth) debone and then 2nd day I Can the Chicken and the next day I can the broth. Pressure Canner. I wish they had this as just a regular staple but a good sale price and that will give me about 10 quarts of chicken and 7 quarts of bone broth. I use the chicken for my dogs instead of buying nasty canned dog meat and we also use it to make Mexican Chicken Enchilada Casserole ( thank you to Catherines Plates on you tube for that recipe). I also use it to make Chicken and Egg Noodle soup using both the Chicken and the Broth. Anna In Ohio

Aldi is the only one saving ppl. Just for that I shop at Aldi’s now. Grocers that have compactors never see me there anymore. That mentality of filling landfills is the biggest turn off. That pizza oven in amazing! I want one too! If u find another, I’ll buy it. I prefer having a stone one outside, but the one u have probably cooks the crust well too. I can’t wait for FM to demonstrate how the pizza cooks on that one. 👍👏👏👏

Great haul and the pizza oven is the type we had when I was a bar tender and tombstone provided those pizza ovens,we would microwave eggs rolls then put them in the pizza oven to crisp up.delicious! Excellent finds 👍❤️😀✝️
That pizza oven looks as if it has hardly been used! Great find! I would think it is a lot cheaper to cook a pizza in one of those, than to heat a whole oven as well, so more savings. Brilliant! xx

I made a trip to farmers market today and went to several of the Amish houses that sell produce! I'm fixing to can soup! I love canning, I've been putting up some corn, jam, squash..I seem to love it. Always have. It's really therapeutic. 🌹🌼

For dirt under the fingernails (I know when you’re constantly gardening, you just get used to it) but if it’s annoying you, just scrape your fingernails on a bar of soap before you put on your gloves. When it comes to washing off the soil, it’s a bit easier to brush the dirt out! 😊

Peel your tomatoes add chopped pepper onions bring to a boil,simmer about 20 minutes put in hot jar with lids presto,,,,!!!!!!! Canned tomatoes ready for spaghetti sauce; stewed tomatoes whatever!!! Been doing this for years. Love to can and see the beautiful results. Keep up the good work!!

Hello. Jalapeños are great sliced in half, take out the seeds and put cream cheese inside, wrap with bacon and put in oven. I think oven is on 350. Bake until bacon is crisp. Yum, yum.

I pay for internet but refuse to pay 200+ for cable when I can see the stuff I want on a free app like Pluto, tubing, crackle etc..plus Hulu & peacock I get from Verizon for free. it's my Frugal way lol

You can add the Tostadas to you soup just put crunch them up if the pieces are to big for the little ones when you serve them soup or chili. It's good or with salsa.

Tip. Wrap your celery in aluminum foil and store in frig to extend its life.

Did you know that you could freeze eggs? You just break one open place in a lightly oiled muffin tin. Freeze. Remove from muffin tin & place in freezer bag. They are great for baking. Also you can lightly scramble them & cook. Cool & place in freezer bag. Freeze. Then, remove serving onto plate & microwave or heat-up in skillet for breakfast scramble. Good way to preserve extra eggs.
Homemade marinara. Can make pizza... baked ziti...lasagna... Spaghetti.😋
After you peel your tomatoes, you can dehydrate the skins until they can be crumbled. Pulse them in a spice grinder ( or I use a coffee grinder I picked up at a resale shop for $1) until it is a fine powder. Store in a jar with a tight fitting lid(I use one of my mason jars). You now have pure tomato powder made with what would have been thrown out. Add it to soups, casseroles, sloppy joes, or anywhere you want a tomato flavor. I use it instead of tomato paste. I also can my own ketchup.
When canning salsa, drain off the extra juice and can it. It makes wonderful Bloody Marys.😊
Oh, remember to add the 'store bought' lemon juice to your canned tomato products to ensure the correct acidic level.

Scald the tomatoes for at least 1 minute,then place in cold water and those peeling on them will just pull off.If you plan on canning them. It's so much easier than peeling them with a knife.

😲 wow - what a haul y'all...FD finds so many great things in his sidewalk shopping...I like to do the same but wow I never find things of the same caliber as he does... maybe it's ths town I live in...I need to expand my travels...what luck on the pizza oven- I looked yesterday at Wally world yesterday for one for my son's B-day present and they were $128 and just like it..the tomatoes looked as good as the ones I grew in my quarter acre garden on the farm..granny franny

One of the greatest things I’ve found for things you want to freeze is the silicone pans. I freeze meals or whatever in them and since they are flexible you can just pop things out and then bag or vacuum seal them
I like Frugal Daddy's new hairstyle. Tip you can freeze tomatoes whole to later thaw and can when you have enough for a canner full. Will the Aldi pizzas fit into the pizza oven??

Awesome haul!! I read somewhere, to put an egg in your pot or compost to add calcium. I make tea with the banana peels, and egg shells and a little coffee grounds. I have a worm garden (no worms) but I use it to make my compost tea.
I have two big pitchers of banana peel water going right now! I do coffee grounds and egg shells too. And watered down pee for nitrogen.

I always love watching a new dive. I just thought I’d say that I remember when you first used to tape your dives it was mostly frugal mommy doing the dives and it was cruel daddy that looked like he wasn’t having much fun. Now I don’t see for your mommy very seldom out there because I know you have your girls to watch but for real daddy is having himself a great all-time out there. For containers for your container garden, many restaurants throw out 5 gallon buckets on garbage day! Ice cream shops are often especially fruitful :) If you look along a street with many restaurants on their garbage day you can usually find a ton very easily.

So fm. My cousin taught me something cool. She tops her tomatoes then when she had milk that goes bad.. she add water to the rest then gives it to the tomatoes. She has so many tomatoes on her plants. They are huge beautiful tomatoes.

So, ur saying she trims the tops of her tomato plants. Then she adds sour milk diluted with water to water her tomatoes?? I just poured water and sour milk on plants because I didn’t want it down the drain. So, I guess I was feeding my plants with sour milk, and that’s a good thing?
