- The great documentary about Peter Hammill done by the BBC in 1986 in its entirety. I've synchronized the audio tracks used here with the official songs for better quality and improved both the original audio (which was taken from a different source than the video) and video itself to have a definitive version of this show.
When improving the video I made sure that the light and shadow effects towards the end of the show are kept (blacks are blacks). It is apparent that a lot of thought has been given when producing the show and it was something I wanted to preserve.
I do not own the copyrights for the music or video. This is posted here for educational purposes only.
All of his poems, no matter how sad or enigmatic, are intense celebrations of life.

Thank you litzlitz for remastering and posting this wonderful documentary. Valuable work. At this time (late '85/early '86?) I was just down the road in Salisbury eyeing an album in Our Price records called Pawn Hearts. It was on the famous Charisma label, the artist was obviously the same bloke that Genesis used and the copyright year-1971-was promising. I took the plunge. What a scary, disorientating 45 minutes. My conclusion: If this band tried harder they could be more like Genesis!!!! Hey, c'mon, I was only 14 ok?!

I actually do. It's the Iford manor gardens, and it's indeed beautiful. I visited the gardens earlier this year.

Hi litzlitz! I wonder if song versions from this video exist as a separate full videos or sort of. Are they from some album or something?
Hi. The songs appear on official albums, some are from Love Songs which are re-recorded versions of previously released songs (except for Porton Down which is the live version and not the one from any studio album). There are no longer videos of these songs. I believe the videos were shot/produced for this TV show.
@@litzlitz oh, I'm so glad you answered! Surely I know the studio versions of the songs, the actual reason I asked is my passion for PH live recordings (bootlegs). Up to now I already collected around 300 concerts, mostly in .flac. By the way, you can check my tag on Facebook (#PH_BestBoots) - there I share some of the most delicious findings.
