- Royal Marines have spent more than six months training nearly 1,000 Ukrainian counterparts in the art of commando raiding and complex amphibious operations.
Specialist instructors from across the UK Commando Force passed on invaluable expertise and knowledge in how to plan and carry out raids using small boats by day and night.

On behalf of an ex-combat disabled Veteran, 12 years in the Air Force, 5 deployments, I thank you very much for stepping up and not only teaching, but learning and gaining an amazing amount of intel from returning Ukrainian troops and volunteers, about how our next war in the next 50 years will be these exact tactics, and the more that we share info and learn from our allies, the more we gain to keep the world a safe and free place for all human beings and nature to live!

I recently went to Cancun for my cousins wedding, I ran into a family of brits one of their sons being a 24 year old (same as me) British Royal Marine infantry mortar man. Who enlisted at 16 & did 8 years ! Dude was a stud & super smart.

Honestly, I can’t describe these guys as anything other than the biggest badasses on the planet. They went from jobs working in carpentry, mining, or product distribution to being some of the most cutting edge warriors on the planet. Thank god they’re on our side!
And yet they let people just invade our borders.
It makes me very proud to see this. I do not understand people reducing this war to money. If someone asks you for help in a moment of extreme need, you help.

The timing of this video is quite telling, call me a nerd if you like but when I heard about a recent Ukrainian raid on certain key sites yesterday, I suspected some form of western commando/SF training was involved!
All of that training condensed into five weeks (that we know of) is impressive, considering Royal marines go through thirty eight weeks of basic traing.

From what i gather those on the course already had basic training of some sort and some experience.
The 1st 4w replaces the PRMC and is used to prepare the raw recruit to enter the 32w full training.
It’s still 32w plus any back troop time of course
I have greatest respect for the brave men from Ukraine that have been thrown in at the deep end and are now fighting for their country. No doubt, that they have been given training and tactics by the best in their business and am sure they will put it to good use! Thank you to all Royal Marines who are making this happen.

@@jamesdean8864 this video/training is done in cooperation with the Dutch Marines. I believe Norwegians are also contributing, whose MJK are special operations force. It’s great that this is done together with allies.
@@jamesdean8864 I think they've set their own standard, and it works well for them. Whether it's a better standard than peers is subjective, but I can see what you mean. Very professional forces.
Ukrainian fighters: brilliant, my heart and soul goes out to them, with all hope for victory and good health for them and their families.
Royal Marines: for me, the best branch of the service, they seem to have resisted some of the ridiculousness happening in other branches of the armed forces, retaining a priority of war-fighting and effectiveness over political ideology.
And don't forget the Netherlands Marine Corps mentioned at the beginning of this video. I don't know so much about them but I know they work closely with British and American marines, so I'm assuming they are very good - and the fact they are contributing here should be recognised.
We've provided multiple forms of tactical and general operational training over on Ukraine almost from day 1. Its all the things the public don't see and hear and then question out defence budget and what it's for!... people don't realise the constant back and forth and exchange of value training in these shared situations and as a captain who has been out to oversee armourment and partake in home soil training of Ukrainian forces I can truly say were providing superb training and backing it up with heart and dedication to a cause we firmly belive in

Unfortunately due to the r'tardation of @catpainblackudder01 doesn't realise that border security isn't apart of the role of the RMC's or 3cdo brigade. That goes under Border Force under the Home Office. Also imagine wanting to waste the talent of the commandos on border security of all things. Great way to waste SOF capable units time and resources.

I think there is more than training taking place. I heard that Royal Marines were being used for ops in Ukraine....ops that were difficult, and for which Ukrainian Special Forces lacked the training for. That was from a statement by the British Government! Britain and Ukraine are bonded now....if there is one thing Britain does well it is having a fantastic professional military.

You are seeing the benefits of this training by the Royal Marines and of course the Netherlands and others in the latest engagements. Taking the drilling rigs in the Black sea. Further excursions around areas that open up the Crimea area raiding and causing the Russians to second guess what the Ukrainians are doing. A level of professional soldiering that Russia certainly cant compete against.
You know your true friends in times of need. One day Ukraine will be free and prosperous, but ironlically those who are not offering any help right now will be the first to seek the attention of Ukraine. I would like to blame the African countries like South Africa that support Russia, but I also understand that this is a President's decision as an individual. They come and go, and there is benefit of doubt that a different President could have made the opposite decision. No sane person can justify civilian deaths in Ukraine in the name of fighting Western interests.

All these little raids we see happening now have come from thsi training. I'm British but I know the RM play a small part in a bigger training picture involving most NATO Countries, but the training they've given the Ukrainians has been the reason we have seen night time raids via little boats in Crimea espically. The Russians tried it in the Odesa region and got killed instantly.
All these little raids and now all these missile strikes on Russian targets well away from the frontline means one thing... Ukrainian Special Forces are now everywhere guiding in missile strikes on Russian stolen territory or the Motherland itself... God fucking bless those guys!

Just want to say Thank you to our Royal Marine Commandos for helping Ukraine with their Cause, It's not often I get to show some appreciation as a British Citizen but might as well take this opportunity. Slava Ukraini! from this English man who visited Ukraine in 2019, It is surreal seeing how as a nation people were enjoying everyday lives, buying coffee etc just like here, to then having their society deliberately Targeted by the Russian Military, they do not care If Innocent people die, They are deliberately going after them and they have done on many occasions, Russia under PUTIN are guilty of State sanctioned Aggression & Murder, Markets have been bombed with Missiles/Rockets, people of towns and villages have been marched to their deaths and shot in mass graves, an elderly couple was shot to death in their car by Russian Forces, I hope this training proves useful and that Ukraine ultimately frees their Homeland, they will keep fighting, I know they will until they are free and Independent once more as they deserve to be.
We have enough problems here in Britain without sending out our Armed forces to fight for warmongering America. Best thing Britain ever done keeping to F out off the Vietnam fiasco. The best thing Harold Wilson ever did.

Depends, a lot of factors are involved. Some of which are the calibre of men, what they were taught vs. how much of it will be retained. Then the unknown around their command structure and what missions they will be deployed on enabling them to put those skills into action, etc.

Shouldn't it be the ranger regiment training them? Not 100% on Ukrainian geography but its mostly woodlands no?
The royal marines cover every terrain. It's not just sea borne missions
Luhansk is pretty hilly and Ukraines been doing a lot of commando raids across the Dneiper into Eastern Kherson. Plus its still very very questionable if the Ranger Regiment is ready to train SOF units yet.
