Hi Nick! So glad to have found Your channel! I remember discovering Your fights a couple of years back (when I first got into kickboxing). It started with You vs Musashi, and You instantly became one of my favourite fighters. Anyway, I have one question. Were You very stressed or worried before Your fights? I wonder, because inside the ring You had balls of steel haha! Sorry for such a long comment, glad to see You are doing well, legend!
Of course I was nervous and scared but there was so much pressure on all of us, I grew very fast in confidence and I actually loved the idea of being a fighter. So, I learned how to put on the big boys hat early on and then it’s just game face. But in the Musashi fight I knew I was going to win. Can’t quite explain how I knew but nothing was going to stop me that day. So I had no fear or nerves I just fought and loved each second of it. He told me last year that this was the one fight of his year that loosing was the hardest.
Thanks for responding so quickly! I asked partially because I have a fight this saturday (not a pro one yet, but on a slightly bigger show) and was wondering does the stress ever go away (who better to ask than a man who fought Peter Aerts) Thanks again Nic, I am here to stay as a fan for sure! Oss!
