    Great video, clarifies design choices. Could you please, elaborate on C17 and C14? Per your response below i can see how C17 is acting as part of the feedback to make the phase 180 deg. It goes from a collector of Q5 to its base. I am not clear about C14 though.

    Great video, thanks. What is the primary purpose of the transformer? Is it for impedance matching with the next stage? Also why do you say that the transformer has a variable inductance, isn't the capacitor the variable part of the transformer?

      The IFT cans contain inductors tuned with a threaded ferrite slug and fixed capacitors.

      Hi, The inductor is the variable. If you look at the bottom of the can, you'll see a small, fixed value MELF. Moving the tuning slug varies the inductance,
