Suggestions? OK When you have magnets glued to Side A, you can use those to locate the magnets for side B, then glue the magnetically sealed magnets onto Side B, removing the need for all those pins. Each of those trapezoidal forms ought to also have an optional roof, so that you can choose to use them as three separate terrain pieces or assemble them into the tower. If you're going to end up with visible pinholes, consider adding extra pinholes along the edges to make them look more like a construction feature.
Timely video - with my local dollar store selling toy tanks with guns that look perfect for turbo lasers, I was starting to think 'how can I make a turbo laser battery' - the modularity is a bonus
Nice work, quality Star Wars terrain tutorials are severely lacking on CZcams. I'd love to see some Tatooine, Bespin, or generic spaceport-style stuff.
Thanks Joshua, I have plans for more very soon. There's heaps of inspiration in the star wars universe alone, but hopefully these will be generic enough to use in most things.
Thanks John. I had a lot of fun with this one, even though it took way too long to finish. But I'm keen to try out some more similar buildings and add some extra details. Thank you for watching and commenting mate.
Another great build. I've been getting a lot of inspiration from your channel and I'm going to be getting started on a board for kill team soon using a lot of things I've learned here. Cheers my man.
Nice! I like the scifi feel the sprues give. Yeah i know they are sprues but I also think ‘ooooh wonder what that would do? Heating? Cable protection? Pipes for the toilet?’ 😝 Love it.
haha, I don't know what to say, you're right...If we were talking about saving lives (or if the channel was in any way for children), I would probably be sure to take more time to go through some kind of safety process and tutorial. But I'm hoping common sense and a healthy respect for sharp things can go without saying here. Thanks for watching and commenting mate :)
@@RFDHobby yeah no i get that. I also cut towards my fingers on occasion. It’s just easier sometimes. Your welcome! Your tower idea is a good one! It looks very similar to the ones on the Death Star. Is that what you based it off of?
@@karebear4485 I did some looking around for star wars images showing 'mechanical' structures I could feasibly build (it wasn't easy haha). But these were trying to be a fairly simple representation of those exact towers. I hope to be able to build some cannons that I can mount on these one day too.
Go for it! Ladders and stairs are always a bit of a pain to deal with. This was a nice easy way to get around it this time. Thanks for watching. Keep up the great work on the channel mate.
Thanks Tom. I'll be doing some weathering and more detailed painting on these in the future, I've done some weathering and stuff on other terrain pieces, but my Star Wars Legion terrain is still fairly plain at this point. I do have a playlist of videos that contain some form of painting or weathering on the channel so far if you're interested though. Thanks for the comment mate.
Thanks Gary, I have not, but the 3.75" star wars figures would be great fun to play around with, and a really good scale to work in. I've made some pieces for 1/10th scale (I have a couple of 1/10th scale Radio controlled vehicles that I play around with), so it's not out of the question at all. Converting cheap toys is a great way to start, and with larger scales it becomes much easier to find stuff. Thanks for the comment mate.
Hey Tobias, Thanks mate. The booth has a filter at the back, which can be removed and cleaned if required, but it also has an extraction fan that can attach a hose to vent the air whereever you like.
@@RFDHobby We are looking into getting a setup like this We have a couple of airbrushing kits We use masks But I would prefer to filter and vent it right out
@@tobiasm268 This will make a big difference. The fan in the back is large, and does a good job of pulling the air through, so it keeps a room fairly clear of overspray and fumes. Even though it has the filter, if you vent this through something like a screen on your window, it will likely leave a stain on the screen over time. But some kind of air extraction setup, even homemade, is always a good idea.
Amazing tip with the 45 degree foam cutter!
Thank you. It is such a handy little piece of kit to have if you're working with foamboard.
Suggestions? OK

Love the simple design and paint job.

Awesome to hear. I've been working on a turbo laser for the top of this one already. Toy tanks is a great idea!
I love when a project looks so amazing but the inside looks like arts and crafts day. It looks so much heavier than it is!
Very Star Wars! Nice.
Thank you!
Great build Shawn! Now for the rest of Endor! 😀
haha, thanks Leif. I'll get right on it.
An interesting build - the way you have angled each layer really add to the piece. Looking forward to more in this series!
Thanks Alan. I'm looking forward to trying out some more things here as well.
Turned out great! Love how it all fits together
Thank you mate.

Love it, amazing mind you have. I'm going to give it a try for my 3.75 figures.
Thank you. Good luck with your projects mate.
Now I want to see the turbo laser topper.
It really needs a turbo laser option doesn't it? Thanks Dave.
Good job
Thank you!
That is a great looking build! Very clean construction and great painting. Thanks for sharing this.

nice result !
Thank you! Cheers!
The paint job made it pop, very simple colours. Great build bud!
Thanks Nate. I can't wait to add do some more in this series and see what I can do with it.
looks awesome bro
Thanks very much!

Great to hear mate. Glad your enjoying the vids. Good luck with the kill team board. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. Thanks.

Awesome Build
Thanks mate.
Really nice mate
Thank you.
oh, cool, amigo
Thank you Richard.
Rad tower, man. Good job.
Thanks so much mate! I appreciate the comment.
Great project mate.
Thanks very much for watching and commenting mate. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great build! I’ve been playing Star Wars skirmish games since the 90s and I’m still looking for more terrain ideas.
Awesome, thank you! I hope to have a few more star wars buildings coming soon. I love this theme.

Thank you very much mate.
Great video, got a thumbs up from me 👍

I like your work. Have you ever built SciFi buildings for 3.75" figures, such as original Star Wars or GI Joe?

The paint booth you use to prime
How do you like it
Does it vent outside
Or does it use a filter

What kind of hobby knife are you using (red)?
I think you're referring to the army painter craft knife. The one one with the molded red handle. It's a nice knife to use.
The amount of times you say “uh” in this video is astr-uh-nomical
haha, you should see some of my earlier videos... I'm working on it though.
oh god dude don't sand the magnets...
Good to see some more excellent Legion terrain ideas; I hope you'll do some more, at some point.
Thanks Bryan. That's the plan mate, should have some more coming soon. Thank you for the comment.
