    I think that the "sensor"/not a sensor is a heater coil to make the oil which may pass through that point, thinner, so it doesn't clog up, when it becomes thick during cold weather. ...Probably not needed, if synthetic oil is used.

    I have a 2006 Sprinter MB replaced the engine @256K @ 348K I blew a coolant hose & overheated it. Gained a cracked head. I had the head replaced 12k ago & running wonderful, but just now I have a "bearing" sounding noise coming from the front of the engine. I removed the belt & it is none of the externally driven accessories or idler pullies. Have you had experience with the Cam tensioner or cam guides malfunction?Additionally, at about 1200 rpm the noise quiets considerably, but is still there.

    • @ZimaletaMotors
      @ZimaletaMotors  Před 4 lety

      I can help you get it diagnosed if you bring it to me, I live in Lancaster SC, but I also offer consulting over the phone, I can tell you where to look, I do charge $60 for my time,
      But from what you told me so far, Glow plug problem does makes sense, and yes it will start up fine without all glow plugs working, but it won’t cause drivability issues.
      Your problem with EGR that you mentioned that you cleaned, that’s good that you cleaned it, but if it’s faulty it won’t work right, causing limp mode.
      You make you more then one problem causing this, I recommend watch some of my videos with 2007-2008 sprinters one with green Van one with white, both came to me with limp mode but left with a good driving van, this might help you.
      If you do have a code for EGR abd cleaned it, and it won’t work, then replace it.
      Let me know if this helps

      He rerouted the crankcase ventilation system in order to prevent oil from being sucked in by the turbo charger down through intercooler and finally engine. Such a modification would be very helpful for the newer Sprinters with DPF system, since burning oil is the primary reason why DPF system fails.

      @@ZimaletaMotors more Ukrainian, your accent not sound like russian accent. I have a question if you have no problem with that. I got 09 Sprinter with 52k mile, V6 3.0L one month ago. This Sprinter made 900 miles for the last 3 years and only 70 mile for last year. Couple weeks ago I got a situation when the oil pressure light got flashing for a few times for one or two minutes. Since that i am not driving the van. I think this is a problem with the oil pump or oil pump clog with old oil. What do you think? Thank you for your recommendation.

    • @ZimaletaMotors
      @ZimaletaMotors  Před rokem +1

      Could be oil pump, most likely is oil cooler seals leaking? Check if your leaking any oil under the van, right under starter motor, also if you replaced engine oil recently and did not replace the oil rings or replaced them but not lubricated them, it might if ripped a seal, now your losing oil and oil pressure, there is more that can be wrong but start with simple thing, check oil level, if not good, check oil filter cap remove it check seals, if all good, check oil cooler for leaks, hope it helps

    Nice video... But you guys are playing with old, unproven methods in dealing with EGR modifications.
    Why not learn how to modify the software of T1N and do a complete EGR delete? It is not difficult since we are dealing with EDC15 and EDC16 ECUs without any encryption.
    You guys need to learn the systems that are on your vans and how they function. Learn what "Positive Crankcase Ventilation System" is and how it is supposed to function. The sensor that you guys talk about in this video, it is not a sensor but a heater. If you look inside of that pipe/hose, you will see a copper ring. That ring is being heated to try to prevent liquid oil from going to the turbo. In other words, that heater heats up to dry up the moist fumes and oil that might come through the PCV valve.

    • @Dima-jq3mj
      @Dima-jq3mj Před 4 lety +2

      If you live up north, Canada as an example, in the winter when the engine operates, the original fan is spinning and cooling the coolant when you don't really need it, especially when sitting and idling. Some people do this modification to avoid covering the grill and bumper in the winter. Also, it really helps in the summer too, because you can set the fan manually on high speed even at low speed or when you idle.

      Actually on T1N, the cooling is very poor. It tends to run hot on hot days. The NCV3 has a lot better cooling along with better a/c system.
