Yeah Anji sucks you don't need to change on HOW you fight him you just need to know his weakness
1. Bad Frame data
2. Spin TAKES 10 FRAMES before the parry is active so he can't use it on wake up.
3 his Jump Fan has a Gap a major one unlike the Old Games the fan doesn't have a hit box until it hits the ground making this HIS only plus on block Fujin option...IF you are asleep at the wheel. Since the person you pinned told you about how bad the fan throw is. Any good player or decent player will learn the fact you can mash through it. Jump throw it, Air to air it, 6P it, Super it (prepatch characters could run forward through it)
I main this character since the beta and he is awful he is a scrub killer for sure but past that its not that big of a change. just play normally and just keep in mind if he has 1 bar he now has a REAL wake up option which is the parry super. Out side of that you can bully him LIKE EVERYONE else. Thats how bad he is.

Anji is my go to example whenever I need to explain that a Guilty Gear Twink is bigger than the beefiest man in Genshin Impact.

I remember way back when I first started strive, anji was difficult for me to fight. I labbed for 20 minutes against fuujin followups a couple times and saw some success. I entered a tournament with my friend and while we both ended up going 1-2 or 2-2, I beat the anji that knocked him out of losers side.

Something that I always seem to get confused by is that Kou is not a DP and he recovers in the air so you can't punish it like a DP. I probably get confused since the only other special moved that leave you actionable in the air are Chipp's Diagonal Alpha Blade and Millia's Kapel and those are very different character types.

Kou also can't hit grounded opponents so you can hit him on the way up if he throws it out without getting you airborne first. It's a combo tool and not really a get off me like a DP

Man, I need to remember run up grab more. He's not terrible to fight as Testament from preferred range since if he spins through grave Reaper, you're guaranteed a follow up Crow will catch the recovery frames.
But unfortunately then he just spins through the normals that would pop the stain state and it goes away once you're hit
testament has a good fast 2P so use that when you're worried about spin tbh

Nagiha (S follow-up) is actually the safest follow-up, mainly because of the pushback, especially if not user point-blank. Kou (P follow-up) is extra vulnerable on DP. I wouldn't dare use any other option than Nagiha on a greedy Leo for example

There are action some cracked players who can punish Fujin-Punch by predicting that move and jumping before it comes out. It’s safe on block IF it’s blocked.
When I first played thi game seriously (as in more than just the demo) I ai trained against this guy constantly and I always had trouble because of spin and him using the move where the camera moves between his fans and a bird flying through

Slight correction for an Anji player: Fujin's Slash followup is actually the safe option unless you absolutely botch the spacing because it should push you far enough away that most fast pokes can't reach you. The Punch followup is the only + on block option, with the downside being the veryu punishable gap beforehand.
The best way to fight Anji is to be defensive and force him to attack into you first. While he has amazing tools to combo and punish hard, his ability to poke and pressure without resources are ok at best. Make him come to you.
Another fun thing about anji You can Kara cancel his 236H into his counter super for some HILARIOUSLY long range counter-strikes.

Anji may or may not be the worst character still (imho Pot and Sin are much worse) but he's certainly not bad or tragic as he used to be, he's plenty great and as an Anji main I never feel limited by him anymore

When Anji spins through a move, he is stuck in a 38 frame animation while the opponent is frozen for 28 BUT you can PRC to get yourself out of the freeze. Also, the opponent is not frozen if Anji spins through a projectile.
And did you know Anji can low-profile under charged Stun Edge with 2D?

Nagiha is safe in most matchups when spaced correctly
it's gappy when used at the right spacing and all it takes is an FD break dash to get punished. it isn't a bad attack it's just not the most scary thing in the world and can be mitigated to quite a large extent

Yet once you learn the secret to getting out of Fuujin pressure Anji becomes the most frustrating to play. There is no reason to pick Anji over Leo who has Fujin and more in his backturn stance an auto parry Shield moves.

yeah its nagiha and charged fuujin only allows more guard point and travel time so it's only useful for varying timing and moving further
all this aside, dont take my words as gospel always head to the wiki! i get stuff wrong so what you're doing is the best thing you can
Do it too close and your opponent is hit with the earliest active hitboxes of the attack, leaving you more vulnerable. If you space Nagiha correctly, you get a meatier hit to make yourself safer.
i think people use the other definition of bad for Anji

Lol, you've hit the nail on the head. I'm an Anji main and Floor 10 is my bane. I can knowledge check everyone below that, but once I hit Floor 10 people know how to respond to my offense almost flawlessly. I'm still looking for ways to deal with it.
@@markclifton859 I'm stuck on F10 as well, I've gotten to the point where I just do things because I feel like it. I could be smart and respect my opponent's buttons OR I can call out them waiting for spin and just run up and grab.
