The man missed 3 seasons and still had the most tackles ever.
Favorite defensive player of all time. Best defensive player I've ever seen. (Never watched LT)
@@yashtalaulikar3727 then you should watch LT he is the best
@@saulmontes7645 I've watched his highlights. Enough of him to believe that he is the greatest defensive player of all time, dude changed the game. All I'm saying is I never watched him live or in person. Ray Lewis I got to watched most of his career unfold, and he was the best defensive player I ever watched live.

@@shoban 😂
He's aggressive enough to be a linebacker
He's big enough to be a lineman
He's fast enough to be a running back
This man can do it all
he wasnt particularly fast or big....he natural weight was ~230lb, he struggled to get up to 245 and not lose speed-he was only 6'1.
@@2011hwalker lol bro his sideline to sideline speed was the best in the business for a decade, dafuq you smoking
Catches good enough for a WR
@@2011hwalkeryou sound miserable lmao what did he do to your team 😂
Not big enough to be a lineman…but we get the love you handing out.
He was such a Beast. Yet almost all his hits were clean. No Roughing the Passer nonsense. That speaks a lot for the man's discipline.
The league was much different when he played to what is now too. Protecting the players from themselves for long-term health is important but the violence was much more encouraged back then.
@@Ginga Exactly. I didn't actually like the unnecessary violence. Today's game is smarter, faster, more about technique less about bravado. But players like Ray Lewis always have a place in today's game. Clean. Brutal. Effective. Efficient.
@@luckyeddy350 Like the way you put that and fully agreed.

@Zack sinclair that's his number?

Lol
I would have to say that Ray Lewis had the "quickest eyes" I've even seen for a LB. His ability to track the ball, whether it was being carried by a RB, thrown by a QB or a tipped pass, was truly amazing. Now add that extraordinary talent of tracking the ball with really soft hands to make those catches. It was a great time watching him play with the Ravens!
The land shark
As a Hurricane on the field!
Prayers for anyone that had to go over the middle when playing Ray
why ray lewis is the greatest MLB of all time czcams.com/video/nhyDEviGaW8/video.html
@@danieldanny69 without a doubt the best in the modern Era. It's hard to compare players that played 20 years apart but he is probably a step ahead of guys like Lambert, Butkus or Singletary but those guys were all incredibly dominant players in there day. We have HD highlights of evert play and these guys spend their their lives preparing for it now. I wouldn't be surprised to learn Butkus or Lambert worked side jobs in the off-season off-season pay the bills

Before watching, I already know that play where he absolutely demolished Darren Sproles in the backfield is on this list.
Edit: #2
Greatest Middle Linebacker of all time. What an incredible inspiration!!!
My gosh he had the whole stadium go “OHH!!!”
And man I guess I missed most of Rays early prime, I had no idea he had such great INTs
The dude can do practically everything on the field. His opponents should be thankful that he wasn't bigger, stronger, or faster.
I've always reserved this comment for ED Reed. With All respect to Ray Lewis, I always though Ed Reed was the best football player I've ever seen, even over Deion Sanders. Dude could literally do everything on D. People forget the he came in as a SS and was laying people out before the neck injury.
The number of plays he made against Cleveland is astonishing
this is why ray lewis is the greatest MLB of all time czcams.com/video/nhyDEviGaW8/video.html
To be fair, cleveland being cleveland made it quite easy on the Ravens
Cleveland lacked the aggression the AFC Central/North was known for
Ray Lewis was such a phenomenal talent. His size and speed were unreal, he wasn’t just a physical powerhouse. He was incredibly smart and great at reading what an offense was doing. He was such a great leader as well. When the defense was getting tired he could get them to dig deep and hype them up.

Was a pleasure being from Baltimore/Maryland growing up watching this man from rookie to hall of fame elite, these highlights you didn't know if Ray was a corner 😂a Middle linebacker a outside linebacker a safety a edge rusher he did everything! and the beginning of his career when he had that speed was like a missle being launched. What a player and career

Ray Lewis is the greatest football player I've ever seen. Regardless of position. He's the goat. Even over Brady and all the QB's.
He used to take over games. It was crazy.
One of the fastest, strongest, smartest along with being a true warrior and true leader. Hands down by far and away the greatest MLB of all time. No one other MLB in history is even close.
Luke Kuechly

If he was anywhere close, why didn't he get inducted to the Hall first chance and why has he still not been inducted? The writers obviously know something you do not. If he was a first ballot like Ray, maybe we could talk. Thanks.
So privileged to get to see him play live for years. One of the greatest players of all time. Funny, though, that many of these tackle plays would be penalties today…a shame.
If you were a WR on a slant against Ray's Ravens you were saying extra prayers at the line of scrimmage
Never a false step always perfect read step either take on block and perfect shed then technique tackling everytime or drop back in coverage better than most hall of fame safeties. Greatest leader in sports of all time. Greatest motivator in sports all time. All technique was perfect every play.

Hope this man lives the rest of his life happy, what a joy to watch him play.
Announcer: "You're linebacker has the nfl record for most interceptions on your team"
Ed reed: "In a few years he won't have it I will."
Man was a human missile, greatest LB of all time
Besides LT
Dude, this man had to tackle Jerome Bettis, Corey Dillon, and Eddie George with a full head of steam and a fullback paving the way for nearly a decade. The guy is a master at his craft and his craft is violent collisions.
Love to see my guy at work man I miss this dude suiting up on Sunday 😎
So many players act the tough part and the majority that played him said in many different words that he was downright scary.
Blessed to have seen his whole career
I watched #52 back in his prime....2000-2004 he was the best player in the nfl! No RB let alone offense wanted a piece of him and that defense. Pure domination
Early 2000s Ravens were so much fun to watch
Thank you for posting this clip,

I dont think our team will ever be the same without Ray
Ray Lewis was pure power and a determined beast at MLB

One of my favorite plays I remember is back in 2010 I think it was, a game against the Bills was going to OT or tied up near the end of regulation. I remember thinking Ray needed to make a play because our defense was gassed and I didn't have hope we could hold on for a win. I remember being at a Buffalo Wild Wings and he stripped the running back for a fumble recovery. The place went nuts. Good times....good times....
so good... hard hitting.. and CLEAN.... guy was a tipped ball magnet damn good hands for a defensive player
Absolute dominance, I'd start my team with a prime Ray Lewis, his Energy propelled the Ravens. He was the face for so many years.
We miss you Ray!
This makes me happy but also sad. Cuz I appreciate these memories as a Ravens fan but it will never b the same again. Every team feared the Ravens Defense more then any other team. Thanks HOFer

Greatest MLB ever
Ray Lewis...a football god. 🏈😈🔥
Best LB ever IMO!!
Ray Lewis was killer on and off the field. He had a real killer instinct.
I'd love to see him smack down derrick Henry 🤯
That would be a crazy matchup !
Henry would run him over too!!!
@@briandunmore6030 Eddie George was about the same size as Henry. I don't think it would go how you are saying. Ray has played against the like of George, Gore, Johnson, Emmitt Smith. No one was immune, a prime Lewis vs Henry, just like all the others of the past, Henry would wins some and Lewis would win some but it would tilt in favor of Lewis, he was just on a different level then. He could get in your head.
in this very clip you can see him bring down jerome bettis, a player well known for his ability to break tackles and running with multiple people on his back, with relative ease, henry would've gotten the same treatment trust me
5:41 is my favorite hit in football history

That’s the best highlight reel for any players that I’ve seen to date.
I'm looking at all of these old Era NFL players and they were so far ahead of what we have today. Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Troy Aikman, and others of this Era were indeed the quintessential Professional Football player.

Most ferocious player I've ever seen. Ripping out balls, meeting RB's head up, diving for picks, swallowing QB's and hawking any balls near him. Very oppressive player. It's almost uncomfortable to watch him play because of how much he dominated and commanded attention.
We miss you Ray Lewis definitely a born legend

I remember #2 and was soo wowed by it.
Lewis just had such amazing form when hitting a ball carrier. He looked like a shark in nature documentary jumping out of the water to attack a seal or something. Just a perfect fluid motion meant to hit and hit hard.
The most awkward looking man with the ball in his hand. Lol
Llf he plates running bk also in high school
He really do tho when he got the pic lol
The GREATEST!!!
Only ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins either watching them or hearing them speak makes me think I can bull rush Larry Allen I get so amped but then I check myself and realize I would get pancakes! Lmao great video
Best interior linebacker ever
He was the greatest because he had the greatest struggle..His father never acknowledged him..He bought a ticket for his father to see him play and his father didn't come..He became the greatest because he wanted to show the entire world that he was worth watching..Having been rejected by a parent myself I completely understand the dynamic..As a woman I am not allowed to play football but I think I would have been great like Layla Ali
